Monday Night Recon

Post by Teal »

Anyone up for some Future Soldier tonight, say, 10:30pm eastern? I'd LOVE another full room, but will also be up for any number between one and 12...lol.

Step up!

I'd like to reserve 2 spots, please.

One for me.

One for my wife LOL!

We were checking out Zune last weekend and saw some horrendous movie trailer that looked like it would be a high school video class assignment (that failed). I saw the next one over was Ghost Recon Alpha, and she watched that. Suddenly, she wants to try GR (she's NEVER played a shooter before).

So we spent a lot of this past weekend playing 4-person co-op with us and my oldest son and my daughter's boyfriend. We made it 2/3 of the way through the game. No idea where it came from, but I'm not complaining :)

Considering I'm not very good at the adversarial stuff, and she's never played against other people before (she's actually a little nervous about trying it), we'd certainly end up being "handicappers" of sorts. If that's not a good idea, we won't be offended lol

I'd like to play. I had some really good games of this online this weekend.

It's not perfect as I've seen some lag weirdness (teleporting, guys absorbing two clips of bullets and not dying), and it's pretty hopeless when your team is shitty, but such a nice change of pace from COD. Instead of speed, mobility and reflexes in COD, brains and communication trump here.

I will try to be there. My in-laws are visiting but I can probably join after they go to bed.

Er...make that 3 spots if that's ok. If it ends up exceeding the room allowance, we can leave to make room for DSP guys of course.

Good chance I'll be around. I haven't been playing much but now baseball and school are over so I have some time :). I'll gladly step aside if there are too many guys...I'm guessing my novice skills will get me killed A LOT. :)

Would there be room for me? Work got cancelled for me tomorrow so no early call time, and I may just grab a copy on my way home if there'll be space.

Since PK makes it 13, we'll bow out and free up the remaining spots.

Don't do that. Our reservation:attendance ratio ain't what it used to be.

Yeah, but my third player that was coming was coming over just to play, and we have to move all the TV's into the same room and do a huge setup process. I don't want to go into all of that only to find out that we hit max limit because everybody did show lol.

It's no worry, we'll get in in a couple weeks when the rooms are half full again.

Terry,

With my in-laws in town there's not a great chance of me being able to make it. Please take my spot. I have a final I should probably study for tonight anyway.

Saboteur is the bomb, pun intended. The most enjoyable of many fun modes last night.

Thanks for tolerating my turkey-hunting, scattershot style, even with a precision weapon, fellas. :) Let's play again soon!

My favorite part of last night was sitting in my super duper camo and knifing people as they ran by me.

My least favorite part was the stung grenade UAV. I really think they put UAV's in this game so girls could play and not have to worry about mixing it up :)

Ban the UAV!

Seriously though, in small games when it's only 3v3 or 4v4, I'm not crazy about one guy on each team sitting back flying a UAV and everyone seeing where everyone else. I think it would be more fun to actually go out and hunt each other as a group.

Sorry I couldn't stay in longer when the room finally filled up last night.
