I have to disagree. In real life I can read a putt from every angle. I can walk to line, see the grain of the green, look for the drainage areas. There are at least a half dozen things I can do in real life to read a putt. In this game all I can do without green grids is get one slope read to my knowledge.
No s*** Dan? You can do all of that IRL? Wow....You need to quit your day job and go on the PGA TOUR....
Seriously though, you can put cursor anywhere on the green and get an idea of the slope in that area unless you have a very shitty TV or monitor. Does the zoomed cursor give you slope information in degrees? Nope, you got me there. I and others CAN read the greens without grids. You've made your point that you don't like to putt without grids so put grids in every damn tournament then and be done with it. I am tired of defending my opinion that the greens can be read without the grids.

I can see the slope ANYWHERE on the green by placing the zoomed cursor in a location and moving the camera around it, so YES I can. Can I get the actual degrees of slope? No, not with the cursor, but I don't need it to putt pretty well. I don't need the actual slope data because I look at the horizon of the green and slope at the cup just like I do when I play IRL Golf.
I guess you overlooked the fact that I agreed with you about the 3D contour. As I said above, I am tired of defending my opinion about putting. You have a different opinion. So be it. Set the tournaments how you like them so we can stop arguing about this and just freaking play the game.
