Devils in 7. But I'm pulling for the Kings, 100 percent.

My buddy in Toronto just invited me to join him in Jersey for the weekend game as he managed to get a couple of tickets. Too bad I have no babysitting help as I would have loved to join him.

The question for the Devils is how the top 6 D will contain the big bodies that LA carries up front. At the same time it is almost impractical the Kings would not lose on the road during these playoffs, a great match up. If NJ wins (I picked them in 6), I'll say Marty is the best puck stop that ever played the game with due respect to the many that graced his position.

The quest for the SC starts tonight...Finally. interesting enough both teams in the final are officially for sale. I was always aware of the finance problems in Joysey but LA for sale too?

In other news, the great N. Lindstrom is to announce his retirement. One of the great ones of all time in his position.

Going back to the very first page of this thread, I just realized I failed short of mentioning the Devils and Kings as the 2 finalists fighting for the Cup. 8)

Reports indicate Nick Lidstrom is going to retire tomorrow. Hoist a glass of suds for the greatest defenseman not named Orr to play the game, boys.

Not that I disagree but I really havent given that any real thought. What about the likes of a Scott Niedermeyer or a Larry Robinson?...Plus they did play hockey before 1970. Plenty of names in the hall.

Lidstrom is an awesome player who turned in an all time great career.

Seven Norris Trophies, dude. Three-time Norris runner-up.

I think Bourque, Robinson, Harvey and Shore could be added to the discussion, but Lidstrom trumps all but Orr.

I think he would edge Bourque by a fraction, top 3 for sure.

Somebody wake me up when this one is over. Sadly all games will be this tight too. Very few shots taken, very few scoring chances.

That was a little better.

XXXIV, its a double with any variation of "knifed" i heard a "speared' twice and a "spiked" twice they all end in away so you should be hammered.

At least the game is good for you.

Awesome play by the Kings to win it in OT. Kings are ridiculous on the road.

Yeah it's like the road energizes them rather than takes the wind out of em. It's fascinating. Still no one in LA even cares. We've got 12 tvs at our gym and the nba was on two and soccer on two...no kings game. Had to ask them to put the damn thing on.

That was a fantastic game, if that doesn't make some new NHL fans, I don't know what does. Best two teams are in this series and it's a great thing for the game.

Mark Fayne had a glorious chance but whiffed at the puck, Kovy played 20 plus minutes of uninspired hockey, Kings 4th line continues to impress me. If I were the Devils I would bring C. Jansen to stir things up a bit.

With Lidstrom officially retiring, you can bet that the Wings will throw the kitchen sink at R. Suter.

Parise next?

The NHL would be better if it started in late September and the Finals were over by the end of May at the latest.
