Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Had another great night of MP and partied up with some randoms that I met who were having a good old time and communicating a ton. Great stuff. But man, there definitely are some folks who are getting REALLY good at this thing already (unfortunately they were on the opposite teams).

Is there a way to toggle RoF during a mission? I swear I've hit every button there is!

Google gives me all sorts of RoF data on the weapons, but not the answer that I'm looking for.RobVarak wrote:Is there a way to toggle RoF during a mission? I swear I've hit every button there is!

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I don't like full auto weapons, and when I went into the weapon mods, switching triggers allowed me to switch any weapon to semi-auto instead of full-auto. I'm sure you already saw that, since your question was in-mission. I don't think there's a way to do that, because it would require changing the trigger in the middle of a firefight lol
Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Many AR's and some SMG's should have the ability to toggle between single/burst/full auto, I would think. Maybe not though.TCrouch wrote:I don't like full auto weapons, and when I went into the weapon mods, switching triggers allowed me to switch any weapon to semi-auto instead of full-auto. Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I'm pretty sure there is not a way to toggle RoF in-game.
BUT - do you guys know about the RB button in MP matches? It's actually pretty great. You can use it to highlight/tag a team member so you have a trail that always points to them or you can use it to set a marker on the screen that your teammates can see. So when you're trying to explain where to go or where something is you can just place the arrow there with the RB button. And I'm pretty sure I was able to tag and follow the bomb with it in certain modes.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I'm looking for a few guys who want to play as much as the campaign as possible on Friday night at say 10pm CT.
Let me know if you're interested. I haven't done anything but 10 minutes of the campaign so it's all new to me. I want to try and experience it co-op first time out so I can write about it.
Thanks
Dan

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I would think so, too, but since it seems to be tied to a trigger choice, I highly doubt it. It's a way for them to allow somebody to configure their weapons and make it seem useful. It's actually taking a choice AWAY, but I can see why they'd do it.RobVarak wrote:Many AR's and some SMG's should have the ability to toggle between single/burst/full auto, I would think. Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Hopefully I'll be able to break out my copy in the next few days. All of the reviews and impressions seem to be fairly spectacular...I can't wait to get into it. Pulling me away from Diablo is gonna be tough however.
Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I'm not sure what to think of the multiplayer in this because every game I've played has been completely devoid of teamwork and obviously this game is built around it.
I played a match of Saboteur where I was literally the only one attempting, on either side, to transport the bomb. My team won the match in a landslide with me being the top player on my team by far......in the very first game I played. I was literally trying to learn the controls while at the same time dominating the objective. Most games I played after that were not much better.
Seems like a good game, but having to rely so heavily on teammates only to have them trying to play deathmatch might just kill it for me.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
I had a match sorta like that last night, mayor. It was a little irritating, but the next match was spot-on, and the one after that, and so on. If you get with some randoms that aren't caffiene-addled ADHD 13 year olds, who actually want to win a match the way the developers intended you to, there's just nothing better. I am dead serious about getting this one into a regular rotation, and that right soon...at least, after we get back from Disney week after next.
This, played with a group of guys who want the strategy, the teamwork, and all that, is just what the doctor ordered, and I know from experience that a team dynamic beats a bunch of COD'ers every time, hands down. That's what I love about it.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Good fun last night Teal and Rob. I like Guerrilla mode better then versus stuff right now but hop[efully we can get a 16 player private match next week. Wave 17 is a new record for me, would of loved to see what they threw out on Wave 20.
See some of you tonight for co-op.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
We don't need 16 players to do versus. First off, the max is actually 12 players for all modes. Also, we can start private matches with as little as 2v2 (I think) but for sure as small as 4v4.

Really cool. I very much enjoyed the first couple of rounds of Saboteur as well. It just got out of hand when the new guys arrived. Not terribly thrilled with Siege.Danimal wrote:Good fun last night Teal and Rob. Guerrilla was a blast! There's some pretty creative AI going on with the attackers.

You sure about that? There are four squads, two per side, with four slots in each, right? My math is a bit rusty, but...

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Yes...it's kind of misleading. There are four slots per squad but you can only fill 3 of them. So at max it's 6v6. Which I love. They probably added the extra slots for the UI in case they up it or add new modes to accomodate it.Teal wrote:Spooky wrote:We don't need 16 players to do versus. Fellas.. I'm thinking about picking this up later today. What are your thoughts after playing it since it's release. Does it firmly fit into a more tactical, slow paced shooter?

Co op is fantastic. Personally, I love the mp, too, but I think there are some early frustrations playing with some random who are still running around like idiots. Guerilla mode is off the charts fun.

Re: Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
Oooooooohhhh....THAT was fun. Man, when you get a group of guys together, randoms or no, that choose to work as a unit, a team...
...this game is unbeatable.
Just played three matches of such quality that I'm inclined to give this one 'best shooter in a LONG time' status. I have switched to a sniper class, and I had a round where I was 12-4, which isn't high numbers, I know, but it's HOW I got those numbers that was the fun part. I was one of only two snipers, and we positioned ourselves at crossfire positions from one another. Whenever an objective would pop up, we would tweak our position to that objective. Our riflemen would attack the target, while we threw flashbangs and provided overwatch. Once they aquired the objective, our engineers would step into play. I never saw those guys, but they kept the other team lit up with the UAV's nearly the entire match. We won 500 something to 4. The other team just ran around, trying to Rambo.
The second match went largely the same, but the third match was a nail biter. Again, as a sniper, I got a good perch right out of the gate, but the other team had transitioned into a unit, as well. So for every sniper shot, there was a counter sniper shot. For every objective we took and held, the other team took and held another. With one minute remaining, we grabbed an objective, and had a lead that would be wiped out if they enemy team managed to take it from us. With seconds ticking down, they came from everywhere, and we were sniping, grenading, meleeing, and shooting with everything we had. A couple of times, a dude managed to sneak in there and start the transfer (one even got 3/4 of the way done), but we managed to take them down, and won the match by the slimmest of margins.
I felt like I'd just been in a battle!
I'm going to put up a Tuesday night Poker night thread for this bad boy tomorrow, and I want every person who has the game (or the disposable income to go get it) to belly up to the bar. This has old school DSP Poker night written all over it, but you have to participate. I'd love a full room, and that's what I'm shooting for. Let's do this!

I'll be around tomorrow night. Been so busy with baseball that i just havent played. We actually made it to the district final at Coca Cola Park (AAA for the Phillies). Freaking Cinderella run. We are the last seed. Anyways, I should be around tomorrow night.Teal wrote:Oooooooohhhh....THAT was fun.
