by Blizzard Entertainment Mar 15, 2012 6:00 AM PDT
The End of Days approaches…. Diablo III will be unleashed from the Burning Hells on May 15, 2012, and you can be ready to play the minute the servers go live by pre-purchasing the game digitally on Battle.net today. Beginning May 15, players around the world will be able to return to Tristram to discover the dark secrets of a fallen star and begin their quest to save Sanctuary from the impending demonic invasion. To secure your place as a barbarian, monk, demon hunter, witch doctor, or wizard right now, simply log in to your Battle.net account, and then purchase and download* Diablo III, and you’ll be ready to play when the game launches.
For anybody who's interested but hasn't gotten into the beta for this, it's an open beta weekend for anybody with a Battle.net account, Fri-Sun.
It's worth checking out. Blizzard just does the click-click-loot game better than anybody else. It's only the first 13 levels and roughly 1/4 of the first act, but you can play all 5 classes and run co-op.
Yep, me too. If not only for the purpose to see how it will run on my laptop to help me determine whether or not to make the purchase. I've been waiting for a new Diablo game for a very long time and now I'm a bit worried my laptop won't handle it well.
Just played the beta for the last 2 hours and it was very fun. Started out with a friend of mine and went through up til level 8 where we unlocked the Blacksmithing. Was very fun and look forward to the final version.
If you have this purchased through Blizzard, the prerelease client was unlocked about 30 minutes ago. You could download it for the past month or more, but when you tried to install it, it was still locked. It's not anymore, so you can be ready to roll tonight at midnight if you so choose.
I would like to get this but I don't think my computer will run it. They are going to have a Starter Edition which is basically what the beta was but the catch is you need a Guest Pass to activate it. If anybody gets the game and ends up with a Guest Pass they aren't using I would be truly appreciative if somebody PM'd me it so I could check out how it plays on my system before I pull the trigger on it.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Supposedly it's very scaleable...kinda like WoW. It can run on a huge variety of systems. So there's hope!
Yeah, it runs butter-smooth on a very low-end machine with a 6 year old graphics card...better than any other game I've tried on it, so it runs really well. That being said, if I end up with a guest pass (I should, since I have one digital copy and one physical copy that I'll get tomorrow), I'll send it to you.
I appreciate it, Terry. My processor is only a Pentium R Dual Core 2.5 ghz But minimum specs say Pentium D 2.8 ghz. If it will run on that it is a definite buy.

After playing the Beta so much and NEVER dying, I was pleasantly surprised to find myself eating dirt just 5 minutes past where the beta ended. I ran into some trees that dropped poison clouds that apparently do MASSIVE DoT damage, because I used the resurrect button for the first time ever already
It really would be sweet if I could play the f'n game. Here we are 3 hours later after I get it installed...sometimes i can get to my player, but most of the time I can't...and when I go to start a new game, boom...can't find all the files or some other bullsh*t thing. These new games SUCK.
