HOGZ, HadesGateKeeper's new club is called "Champions Gate". I'll drop him another note and see when they're up for it. We'll throw some times and dates out there and see what sticks.

Don't forget you're bleeding red in this tournament also :) But yes, 12 under par on that track under these conditions... I am truly not worthy! 8O  I wish HOGZ had a video of himself playing these two rounds. I pay 1000 EA coins just to watch it and learn
Thanks guys! Believe me, I am waiting for my fortunes to turn. Have seen it too much to not think it will happen. I have been hitting my approach shots really well for the most part, usually leaving under 15 feet to the hole and when I do go in the bunker/miss green have been able to recover well so far. I think I am averaging 1.3 putts per hole...I have had two chips in for birdie too and those were your 15-20 yard chips, so had some luck. I had two easy birdie putts, like 7-10 feet, that I missed last round...one was dead center of the cup but I guess was hit too hard and popped on the other side of the hole. But I will take -13 thru 2.

What's interesting is I didn't uyse live weather this time out because frankly if you play at midnight the wind is always 0 mph I learned which is not fair. Anyway I was expecting the same wind conditions each time but with gust and random on I've gotten different wind speeds each round. My first round the winds were so high there was no chance reaching some of the holes which is what lead to my horrible round. Did everyone else has 17-20+ mph winds in round one?

I had some 15 mph winds in round 1. Round 2 was decently calm.

Yes, that's what I saw. There were three par fours that I couldn't reach in 2 in that round. Then again, there were two par fours that I couldn't reach in 2 in round 2, in which the winds were more like 10 to 15 MPH.

Both of my rounds so far have had some really high winds where many of the par 4's were not reachable in 2.

Yep - had strong winds round 1 and calmer winds round 2 still in the 7-13 range if I remember right.

Mine were around 16mph.

Where did you hear about that 0mph winds at midnight? Is that EXACTLY at midnight, because I play a lot of my rounds in that hour, and I've never seen that.

Yes. It's crystal clear. I don't see how anyone could have missed that rule. Are you suggesting we may have cheaters?
No just making sure it was clear. I thought it was but there was some concern it wasn't.

Hell I posted a +12 if that was my 2nd try I really suck. :)
Clear on the rule as well. I think my +1 in the daily is living proof of that.

J_Cauthen wrote:Yes, the two submissions are there in the event the player experiences a freeze or disconnection during the round. You can only submit one score, but the system could be abused by playing the round until you decided you weren't happy with the round, and back out intentionally. The freezes and disconnects are frequent enough that we probably need to up the tries to 4 for weekly tournaments. We've had players in DSP CC get knocked out of weeklies because they've experienced more than two round ending events while online.

Dan, I just PM'd Spooky concerning our opening in the DSP CC. He may not be tuned into the thread to know that there is one.
I missed Augusta because of having two freezes and I've already had one in my round 3 of this week's tournament. Crossing my fingers that I don't get another

Just been my experience every time I play a live weather event at around midnight or later the winds are 0 mpg. I guess it could be luck but it happens every time

I had 15-20 mph winds in every round of the weekly, I did 2 rounds on Monday and then finished the last 2 rounds on Tuesday. I played an xbox live daily tournament the other day at the PGA National course and the wind was a steady 36 mph, was some major adjusting of shots needed from the tee in that round.

Yes, it was on Monday when I played my first round and I was fighting 20+ gust winds. Had problems hitting FIR and landed a lot of shots in the sand trap. I think I scored +4 that day and considered myself lucky. The second round was better but the wind was still around the 18+ range.

Look forward to finish rounds 3 and 4 when I get back.

I don't think I would have the patience to play the same around 2 times in a row, so I am clear on the rule as well. Usually, after I finish the dailies or a round at the weekly, I jump straight into CC matches or Live events.

Also if Soppky doesn't respond, I recall XXXIV being interested as well. I'll send him a PM.

wow. so my streak of red rounds is definately over. Between missing some putts without the grid, missing putts from sheer concrete hands, and the fact that I hate Bethpage in no wind, let alone wind that doesn't even let me hit to the fairway (or the green on par 4's) and we add that up to a +10 I think.

Oh well. At least i'm still 20 shots better then last place. Gives me something to aim for!

I choked about 4 times while playing this round. This is no joke, I left 3 birdie putts of 15 feet or less, 2 to 6 inches short of the hole. It was pouring down rain when I played my round and I just can't make myself hit the putts hard enough when it's raining. The few times I do hit it them hard enough, they seem to hydroplane over the hole. I missed an eagle putt of 20 feet by hydroplaning the ball over the hole, but it only rolled 3 feet past. Anyone else see the hydroplaning putt phenomena?

I posted a news item about Monday's Daily in the "Message" section of our DSP Clubhouse in the game room. We'll be playing Waialea CC on Monday. I wanted to give those of you who don't have the course some notice so you can pony up some game coins for the DLC. I promise I'll use it at least two more times in the coming months if you want to get more bang for your coin and get the more economical "3-plays" download.

Boy, the wind was just brutal at Royal Melbourne today. I must have hit only 6 FIR? Found myself scrambling the entire game and managed to save par. Will take it.

I hear ya' 10sPro. I saw some 20 MPH winds, but thy were mostly in the low to mid teens. I birdied the first four holes at Royal Melbourne and then got greedy. I think it was the 5th or 6th hole where I had a favoring wind that would have allowed me to drive the green had I played my tee shot properly. I put too much draw on it and wound up in deep in the woods. Walked away with a bogey. I was still steaming and overcooked a 65 yard approach after that (54 feet past the hole) and three putted for another bogey.

I wound up getting it back to 6 under, but didn't really play all that well. This course entices you to take a lot of chances you wouldn't ordinarily take 8O

I still don't have the guts to play my final two rounds at Bethpage. My 40 - 110 yard approach game has totally taken a hike, and I need plenty of those shots at Bethpage... all too often to save par!

I'm going to wait until the weekly is over to talk about my final round, but let me just say I think it's a good time for me to take a break from the game. When you get legitimately pissed off at a videogame it's never a good thing. To say I was pissed is a gross understatement.

Those winds were tough. I was -5 at the turn, but couldn't get much going on the second 9. I choked and missed a 6ft par putt in the last hole to finish -6.

Under those conditions, shooting -6 is pretty damn good.

I had 2 tripple bogeys on the day and ended with -5 for the round. That would have been my best round ever with no green grids of I could have escaped those holes with pars!! Good shooting Hogz!! Thanks for the setup Danimal. I really enjoyed it!!

I finished the weekly with a +15 on the final round. Don't know what to tell you about the 15th hole as I exceeded all my shots. Reached the greens in 2 and while I looked for the caddie, it never showed up. I must have had 8-9 putts before I reached the maximum shots. For those that haven't finished Bethpage, I am curious when you reach that particular hole whether the caddie is available to guide you in the greens, because he just never showed up when I played it.

Just goes to show you how humble this game feels to me. Even though I have put a lot of rounds, I just felt totally rusty and felt like a noob playing the daily yesterday and while finishing the weekly today after 3 days of inactivity. I take my hat off to Truth and everyone else that shot in the red.
