I am starting to really love this game! I just finished a daily tournament at Pinehurst that had winds that averaged from 25-35 mph, i finished 11 strokes better than the last place, man am I stoked!!

Although I have not seen that AHA moment, I can now see when I hit a bad shot and what I did wrong. The only thing I don't like on tounament setting is that when I practice my putt stroke no % comes up to show me what that # was, other than that I'm all in!

This is the first year I have decided to play some rounds and not just stick to the Tiger Challenge, I didn't know you could earn XP that way, how refreshing! All of a sudden, I find myself playing all the different courses and living with the 6 putts as well as the Eagle chances!

I finally got an Eagle and could not believe it, you're talking about a guy whose first year on Tournament Pro or Tournament difficulty was last year. I started this year on TP but couldn't stand the putting meter. Once I started playing on Tourn. difficulty, I can't stand any of the aids except the Green Grids on. Sorry for the long post

Not sure where you guys are in your offline careers, but I just came across a cool event. I happen to be 4th in the EA rankings and Tiger is 1st. I got a message that said the next tourney will give me a chance to overtake Tiger for 1st and that I would be paired with him. The next Tourney is the Masters. :)

Just finished the first hole, and the game shows Tigers shots, not just his score. I birdied the first hole, he settled for par. This should be fun! I'm playing on Hard....

Down by 2 strokes to Tiger at the 16th, and I got my first hole in one!!!! Tied at -7, and tied for the lead heading to 17.... We both par 17. On 18, I have an 11 foot putt for birdie. Left to right, downhill... and I push it left. Woods misses his 8 footer, we both par, and the tourney ends in a tie. (1 round Tourneys for me) I still took the number one raking from Tiger, not sure how that happened!!

My first hole in one, and it comes at Augusta... Nice. :D

So somehow in a boost pack or something I got a free entry into an EA Masters event. Now when I log into the OCC it says in notifications I can play in an EA Master event but I have no idea what that is or how to find it.

Any ideas anyone?

That is one of the "golden tickets" that are randomly placed inside boost/pin packs. I dont think those tourneys have started yet.

Anyone else having trouble staying connected to the EA Servers today? I got home from work this morning and couldn't connect at all, then this afternoon while I was "slogging" (and that's flattering to the performance I put in today at East Lake) through my DSP CC round, it disconnected from the EA Servers again. Oddly, when this happened, it didn't end my round and I was able to keep playing. What was cool that it was showing my score card with FIRs and GIRs, and number of putts per hole... if I'm connected, I can't see that info during a Live Round!?

I somehow managed to shoot par with four bogeys, but I honestly thought I would get a DNF because of the disconnect. The game then announced that it was making a reconnect and succeeded, posting my bottom feeding score :) It was a pleasant surprise to see this work. As bad as I played, I really enjoyed this course. I usually score well here, but I couldn't hit greens with 70 - 100 yard approaches (again) - wasn't smart enough to lay up for 120 yard approaches as I often do nowdays - and had "ZERO" confidence with the putter. My game with Tiger 13 has been far more of a roller coaster ride than any other; it's a interesting dynamic.

One final thought, today's Daily (5/5/12 - 5/6/12) is at Bethpage Black. To make things a little different, I set it up for the Blue tees. I think a lot of our players are still early enough in the developmental stages that they won't have enough power to make the carries required to hit some of the fairways from the black tees. Also, I think a slightly different look and stategy for Bethpage Black might be a little bit refreshing.

Oh, I can't leave without tipping the hat to OrthoStud for his sensational -12 round at East Lake! That's awesome dude :!:

You are on the correct path young grasshopper; there's no turning back now! :) I can't help but wonder how many other stories there are like yours out there with this year's game? I know I've read some from guys who were sour on the game for the last few years, but have embraced this one, in spite of its nagging technical problems.

A mix bag for me at Bethpage today. Started rather well, slipped into jetlag mode for about 5-6 holes, picked it up a bit on #13 which is a par 5 I believe and finished it with a bogey ending at -2. I see DM shooting very well at the daily, that's a tough course for moi.

I don't think anyone can top the mixed bag I had at Bethpage this morning. I birdied the first three holes, was 31 feet from the hole on #4, putting for eagle - three putted for par. I kept plugging away and got to 8 under par, in second place after 16. I hit my tee shot to 21 feet from the pin on 17, right of and below the hole, looking at what appeared to be a makeable putt. I walked away from 17, 3 under par after a 7, that's right; a seven putt green%^&$@!?$%!  I've had a couple of 5 putt greens in Tiger 13, but I skipped a 6 putt green and went right to 7! I'm one ill ass jack-wagon right now! How I managed to birdie the 18th after that disaster is beyond me. Makes me want to puke; it wouldn't have been so bad if I had just been farting around, but I was seriously trying to make everyone of those 7 putts

Of course I'm working on a golfer with attributes in the low 60's and 50's so looks like it's time to go back to the "range" and build up XP.
Your performance during this week's weekly was simply amazing. Congrats! You beat the club leader by 3 strokes and he's played 3,882 more holes than you! According to your player stats you've only played 17 rounds and many of the elite have played much much more. Once you get your CAG built up more I see no reason why you can't be at the top of the leader board.

Right now I'm battling consistency issues. My range was +6 to -6 which is right up there as far as range of scores. My long term goal is to get consistent enough to challenge for the top 10, which would be quite an accomplishment given the caliber of competition in this club.

RallyMonkey is definitely one of DSPCC's rising new-breed of stars :)

I think you'll see more consistency as your attributes rise, but high attributes don't cure all illnesses, as I can attest. I see myself as one of the more inconsistent players in our CC. I went from shooting -10 to par in one day last week. I'm learning more and more about where my problems lie, but having the presence of mind to adjust for them *prior* to the shot is where I'm lacking. Most of the time it's due to a lack of patience.

FWIW, DSPCC is now back in the top 100 in the worldwide club rankings. We're now 99th, which ain't bad. We've made up a lot of ground in the last three days!

On another note, I've got a group of guys from another club who want to have a round-robin matchplay series with some of our club members. There are three of them who are interested in doing this. They're really solid gamers and their club has the same mindset as ours. If I can get a couple of of you sign on to this idea, I'll see if I can't arrange for this 9-hole, matchplay round-robin special to happen. It would probably be Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night. I beat two of these guys in the most epic 4 player Simultaneous 18 match I've ever played, but I played one of the round of my life in doing so. The winner was 11 under, I shot 10 under, and the other two tied for third at 9 under.

Finally, I had my first hole in one in Tiger 13 today. It was on the 230 yard 3rd hole in our DSP Weekly at Greenbriar. I holed a 3-hybrid. It barely rolled into the cup with it's last ounce of momentum... gosh I wish I could have saved it to a replay! :o

Thanks boys. No idea how I did what I did but I will certainly take it. We always talk about looking for games that simulate the real thing well, and during the weekly this game did that for me as I felt like I was in a groove and built confidence shot after shot….much like my real game.

Missed the daily's this weekend as I had my daughters, but I'll be back at it asap.

Dang it... my bad guys. I got an error message when I tried to set it up the first time (it's happened a couple of times before but worked on a second attempt), and I was going to try again after I got out of the shower before heading to work. I forgot to try to create the tournament again... that one was all on me :(

This will give me the opportunity to see if anyone is interested in getting a new start time going on the Dailies though. Is there a preference as to what might work better than 7:00 PM, EDT to 7:00 PM EDT?

Thanks Ortho, it was easily the sweetest video game golf ace I've ever made. It felt good at impact and the way it rolled with the left to right break on the green, after I'd played the shot for some left to right help from the quartering wind, it was destiny fulfilled! :D Too bad EA Sports doesn't have a "Get in the hole!" guy in the gallery for Tiger 13; he'd have been right this time 8)

I'm just realizing that I'm about to hit the sack, but I didn't turn on the 360 this morning to see how the weekly turned out this week. Did Tim make up the 8 or 9 strokes to claim the tournament? I'll find out when I wake up, but it had the earmarks of an interesting finish.

Yes, but barely. I was -20 heading into round 3 and needed a strong round to take the pressure off in the 4th round. I shot a -9 in the 3rd making two inexplicable bogeys. Had to have a -10 to win and was tied with Ortho at the end of the 15th hole only needing one birdie in the next three holes to win. Made a bogey on 16 with some poor putting. Needed a couple of birdies coming in on 17 & 18 to win. Hit my approach on the 17th par 5 to 3 feet and made an eagle meaning I only needed to par 18 to win. Hit my tee shot on the par 3 18th flush, but it came up short of the pin and rolled back to 39' from the cup 2' below the hole with a left to right break of over 2'. The putt went to about 4 ' of the hole and I made a tricky downhill right to left putt for the win. One of the best tournaments I have played in some time. Congrats to all who played so well.

Looks like I am going to be missing the next two weeks events as I am travelling back overseas for a Regional Meeting for my company on Tuesday. I won't be back until the 20th, so you guys have fun and hit'em straight!

That would be great. My travels usually are around 10 in the morning so if I can squeeze a quick round before I head out for a couple of days it does help a lot.

Congrats on the weekly DM.
