Ray Whitney keeps doing it for the Yotes. Close game between both teams and more wide open than what I expected. M. Smith stood tall again for the home team especially in the 3rd period when they were undersieged. Preds will rebound no doubt.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
The NHL needs to review all officials at the end of the season. Maybe do some further background checks too.
Why that was not a penalty on the Rangers just now is once again f***in embarrassing. Everyone looking right at the play and NO call.
pathetic...

You can't allow a shorthanded goal in the playoffs..

Quick was unreal.. and we took 6 minutes of stupid penalties late in the 3rd.

Blues cant let loose D. Brown with a man advantage if they've been watching the videos of the series with the 'Nucks.MizzouRah wrote:haha.. yes indeed!Jimmydeicide wrote:You forgot "to Matt Greene"

It was a tale of two teams, the 1st period Blues team and then I'm not sure what team that was in the 2nd and 3rd.10spro wrote:MizzouRah wrote: Blues cant let loose D. Brown with a man advantage if they've been watching the videos of the series with the 'Nucks.

In most cases a coaching change does not make a dramatic difference during the same year the coach was fired. How impressive have the Kings been, though, since their coaching change? Going into the playoffs I felt the three Western teams with the best chance were the Canucks, Blues, and Preds. I knew that Quick would do well, but had little faith in the rest of the team to back him up with good enough play to look like a legit contender. The Kings have taken down the top seed and won the first game against a very solid Blues team. Hats off to the Kings. This series is the best matchup of the second round IMO.

Danny Briere playoff money!

Can the Coyotes go up 2-0?
5 goals on Rinne? Are you kidding me?

Yeah, I don't think many people would have thought that they would be up by 2 at this time. M. Smith again has played very well and all four lines are contributing. Excellent addition in A. Vermette during the trade deadline giving them a lot of balance. All guys wear a blue collar work ethic and right now they are just hungrier than the Preds. Expect NAS to step it up at home though.MizzouRah wrote:Can the Coyotes go up 2-0?

Can the Blues even this series tomorrow? I hope Petro is back, if he's out, the offense really has to get it going, because he is the only D we have that can score.

Blues are doing exactly the same things that doomed VAN in game 2 of their series with LA. Special teams are not so special and the SH goals are killing them. If they lose again tonight, it'll be a tough hill to climb. Kings' forecheck is creating havoc to the home team.
Close game in NY.

f*** YOU LA KINGS!!!

Kings came out wanting to play tonight.. Blues.. well, not so much.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
I guess the Kings are for real. Talk about flipping the switch from the regular season to the playoffs, they've done it. But are they really that good or are the Blues just sleepwalking the last 2 games.

Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
The switch all the western Conference had to switch on for the last 20 games of the season you mean. No one sees the Kings during the season because there is an East coast bias with TV. Im guessing your judging them on what 2 games you may have seen them play?Lancer wrote:I guess the Kings are for real. The 4 remaining teams in the west play the same way and have done since the allstar break and before.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
It might be my imagination but the less minutes D. Hunter gives Ovie the better the chances of his team winning.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Unfortunately, the switch remained in the off position for the Sharks. I did see the Kings vs the Sharks mainly so that's why they really didn't impress me during the reg. season. But post-season they've been almost unstoppable.Jimmydeicide wrote:The switch all the western Conference had to switch on for the last 20 games of the season you mean. Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Two of the top six forwards for the Preds won't be playing tomorrow as the team suspended A. Radulov and A. Kostitsyn for breaking house rules. Considering that they are kind of against the wall in the playoffs, I applaud the organization for sticking to their guns. Radulov has been terrible in any case in the series with PHO. A gutsy and correct decision by D. Poile.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
The Kings/Blues game last night got pretty nasty. A lot of hate out there on the ice. I was very surprised how badly the Blues got dismantled. The Kings got fairly sloppy toward the end by taking some foolish penalties, but I guess they didn't really care since they were so far ahead. It's night/day watching the confidence of the Kings in the latter part of the season and the playoffs versus how they looked early in the season.
I already have a lot of respect for the Preds, but now I have even more after they suspended two fairly key players. It took some balls to do that in a playoff series in which they are down 0-2. I have to wonder if Radulov will be back next year now. Maybe the suspensions will light a fire under the rest of the players.
