There is nothing more worthless in sports journalism than the mock draft.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
So, are we getting a WR tonight?
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I hope the Dolphins do the right thing if available and draft either Justin Blackmon or Fletcher Cox but something tells me they're all in for another QB bust in Ryan Tannehill.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Talk about a bust...Justin Blackmon in Miami. He's not a west coast offense receiver...not a good fit at all.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
There's talk that the Dolphins are now considering trading out of the #8 spot. According to the Miami Herald they've talked to several teams who are interested in the #8 spot.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I actually think they need to get Tannehill. He isn't going to play this year anyway, so sit him for a year and let him learn behind the two vets who have proven they can at least start and be semi successful (albeit not super bowl winning qbs) in the league. He's got a lot of upside and I don't see anyone else at #8 that can appease the masses of uneducated fans (like yourself, lol) after this disaster of an offseason. So it's as much of a PR move as a football move really. If they aren't getting Tannehill, then just trade down an acquire other picks. There's aren't any players worth the spot they'll be taken after about 5 or 6...so it's Tannehill or drop for my money.Rodster wrote:There's talk that the Dolphins are now considering trading out of the #8 spot. Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
My biggest problem with picking up Ryan is the Dolphins have sooo many freaking needs and he's sitting for a year on the bench. I'd rather see them use their pick for a sure starter impact player. That's why I think picking up Fletcher Cox at #8 makes more sense. The guy has the making of Daryl Gardener. He's just a blow everybody up at the line kind of guy and can help put pressure on the QB and take pressure off the secondary which has been a problem.
It's a shame Daryl Gardener developed back problems. When he was healthy he was a beast at the line.

I hope the Bills can get Kuechly at No. 10.

Damn, Carolina just got him.pk500 wrote:I hope the Bills can get Kuechly at No. 10.
Now, will the Bills continue to load up on the D line and take Fletcher Cox or go for an offensive lineman?
God, I hope they don't take Michael Floyd.

True. But my prediction last night of the Rangers beating Ottawa in Game 7 is just 20 minutes away from being golden.dbdynsty25 wrote:This is just not your day PK. But that buffalo defense is gonna be legit.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Agree. When was the last time the Rams drafted a playmaker? Brockers.....what a joke. I'd rather they had gotten DeCastro the O-lineman to at least protect Bradford.MizzouRah wrote:Haha.. both WR's gone.. ahhh man.. I need a new team to root for.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Fisher just said on the radio they had Brockers as a top 6 pick. What the f are they smoking in that room? He has what, 2 career sacks??????????sportdan30 wrote:Agree. I'm cool with Gilmore. The Bills' pass defense was pathetic last season, so any improvement back there is welcomed.dbdynsty25 wrote:This is just not your day PK. But that buffalo defense is gonna be legit.

I am optimistic that Bruce Irvin will fit nicely in one of the Seahawks' needs at OLB, but his past trouble with the law has me worried a bit.

Pats finally trade up instead of down, not once but TWICE, and fill two big defensive holes. Of course lotta good it'll do with Julian Edelman still playing cover corner....but you gotta start somewhere

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Chandler Jones was a very good player here in Syracuse. Quality, hard-working kid with ZERO off-field issues. Typical, smart Belichick pick.RallyMonkey wrote:Pats finally trade up instead of down, not once but TWICE, and fill two big defensive holes. Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Didn't watch much of the draft, just got home from dinner and turned on the hockey, and what with the Skins' draft already decided weeks ago and all . . . .
But watching the recap on sports center, I'm struck with. . . . . What's up with Goodell and all the hugs? It's somehow . . . unseemly, not very dignified, I have to say. I mean, he's the commissioner, the boss of bosses, why all the physical lovin' between the new players and the chief manager in charge? I certainly couldn't ever imagine Pete Rozelle hugging Bubba Smith or anything. What's wrong with a classy handshake and a smile? I think it's creepy.
And so while everyone thinks that Griffin and Luck will always be compared, to me it will always be Griffin vs Tannehill. We could have gotten him without trading anything away, but instead gave up so much for Griffin. It will be interesting to look back in ten years and see if it was worth it.

Who knows, maybe tomorrow we'll trade our 2nd round picks for like 42 6th and 7th rounders?
