Yep. I was thinking the same thing when he flipped the switch in the 3rd.

I think home ice against the Capitals with Florida hosting Ottawa in the other series would be the best outcome for the Flyers.Naples39 wrote:I was at the Flyers game today. I'm just relieved it's over now though. Now I will focus on rooting for WSH and OTT finishing the upsets and clearing a path to the finals for the Flyers.

And that's his problem, the fact that there is a switch to be flipped. The great ones always have the switch in the on position. Clearly Hunter feels the same way based on his playing time in crucial spots as he's a complete defensive liability.FifaInspected wrote:Diablo25 wrote:Ovechkin is scary when he plays hard.

It's been a fun game to watch.10spro wrote:Nail biting time in VAN as the game will go to OT. The little turnovers in the 'Nucks zone has me worried a bit as the Kings look steadier in the blue line. Both teams trading chances in the 3rd and the story continues to be Schneider vs Quick.

They are good.. but LA has been a major thorn in their sides this season.Lancer wrote:MizzouRah wrote:Looks like we play the Kings.. sorry 10spro
I can't believe the Kings won this, especially since the sharks are out.
As for STL, I dont know if they're that good like they were vs SJ or maybe SJ was really THAT Bad
Ahhh man, that's sad.10spro wrote:

She's passionate about hockey like her dad. She'll have a good sleep now, there's always next year as I keep telling her.MizzouRah wrote:Ahhh man, that's sad.10spro wrote:

That is definitely sad. It is very cool that she cares about the team as much as you.MizzouRah wrote:Ahhh man, that's sad.10spro wrote:

The Kings won two early, and more recently the teams split 1-0 games. Low scoring grinding in the playoffs are nerve wracking.MizzouRah wrote:They are good.. but LA has been a major thorn in their sides this season.Lancer wrote:MizzouRah wrote:Looks like we play the Kings.. sorry 10spro

You and are like that commercial where rival fans get along. I was an OT loss away from having to play consoler for my daughter as well. It's an awesome thing to have them latch on to your passions in life but so hard to see them sad when they lose. You're a good papa fine sir, and yes, there is always next year. A message I may have to send soon if the B's don't play three great periods on Wednesday.10spro wrote:She's passionate about hockey like her dad. The first two home losses for VAN were the killer ones. They played well enough tonight to stretch the series to 6, but I just didn't like how the D was turning over the puck in lapses of the 3rd period and ultimately what cost them the game in OT and the series.
God luck to your Blues, that series is going to be a low scoring affair too.
Well that's great, I wish my kids liked hockey as much as I do.10spro wrote:She's passionate about hockey like her dad. She'll have a good sleep now, there's always next year as I keep telling her.

My daughter enjoyed hockey game until she started figure skating. She developed a pretty deep resentment of the hockey guys at the rink that she felt regularly broke the rules and skated unsafely.10spro wrote:Well after a good cry and good sleep, she wrote this on the board this morning and I just had a chuckle: "Boo, boo Canucks, you'll never win the Cup".![]()

.From sadness to anger. Who says that kids at this age don't know their sports?
And Mizz, it's never too late. Take them for a skate, see if they like that first, have fun, hockey should follow after. My kid started lessons at 3 years and just when she turned 4 she started to have an interest in the sport.
My kids are soccer heads.. they both play competitively and love it. As far as watching sports, neither of them watch much of anything sports related.10spro wrote:Well after a good cry and good sleep, she wrote this on the board this morning and I just had a chuckle: "Boo, boo Canucks, you'll never win the Cup".![]()

Blues haven't had a healthy lineup against LA yet either so they really don't know us that well just yet. Will be a tough series but if the Blues stay the course, I like their chances.MizzouRah wrote:They are good.. but LA has been a major thorn in their sides this season.Lancer wrote:MizzouRah wrote:Looks like we play the Kings.. sorry 10spro

If, and it is an IF, Boston wins game 7 on Wed they will be the Eastern Conference rep in the Stanley Cup again, especially if Ottawa can get by the Rangers. Washington was the worst matchup for them outside of the Rangers in the way that they play, locking down the neutral zone and clogging up the middle of the ice in their zone. Philly is good but Thomas, even though he's not at the same level as last year, is world's better than Fleury and Philly's style is far more suited to the B's preferred style of play.Leebo33 wrote:My kids, 9 and 8, love watching the Penguins. They weren't that upset because of the recent titles/finals appearances for the Pens and Steelers. They don't know how good they have it....spoiled rotten kids. I felt the same way at their age with multiple titles and then a spell without (that dry spell from 1993-2005 was brutal).
Congrats to the Flyers for beating the Pens. Now I hope they experience a painful playoff exit with at least one highly controversial call going against them.![]()
At least with the convincing game 6 victory they pretty much eliminated any "what if" scenarios I had running through my head. As much as I hate them, I can't see anyone beating the Flyers if they stay healthy and focused. That's the most impressed I've been with a Penguins playoff opponent in many years if not ever.
