I think your team might just have a date with PHO, the way things are going tonight.MizzouRah wrote:That was quite a final 6-7 minutes.. wish I was there!

I was just about to correct you, as NAS is pretty unlikely.10spro wrote:I think your team might just have a date with PHO, the way things are going tonight.MizzouRah wrote:That was quite a final 6-7 minutes.. wish I was there!

But I think LA is still the most likely opponent for the Blues.

I really thought NYR-Ott and Bos-Wsh would be the 2 most lopsided series of the first round. Now both teams are on the brink of elimination. Wow.

Ironic that the Rangers coach was whining when he was complaining about the Penguins whining a few weeks ago.

great goal by Towes. Another 3 games to 1 advantage this PHX franchise going to choke away again?

I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Five games. Five OTs...Doesn't get any tighter than that.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
I really hope the Pens can stay out of the box today. They haven't given up an even strength goal since game 3, but Philly's powerplay is just killing them. The crazy thing about it is the Penguins set the franchise record this year for highest penalty kill percentage, yet it may be their undoing in this series.

Philly D today has been really tight. If they can keep it up the next 2 periods it's theres.
When you look at how things are shaping up, if NYR/BOS go down, the winner of this series will be the favorite to get to the cup finals out of the East.

The favorites have had a hard go of it so far these playoffs. I might prefer the role of underdog.

Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Gustafsson had an awesome game today. He was patient with the puck in his own end and played solid. I feel better with him in there than Kubina. Kubina just seems careless and slow at times. Love that Gus got a goal too. If the D can play this well they are in great shape for a run.Lancer wrote:Philly D today has been really tight. If they can keep it up the next 2 periods it's theres.

More stressful than fun when you don't have a recent Cup to fall back on, but now it's fun watching the rest of the Eastern series and hoping for every one of them to go to a game 7 and multiple overtimes. Although the Flyers would probably be best served by Boston and NY flaming out.
Giroux > Crosby.

Giroux > Crosby.

That baby set the tone. You are watching the next Flyers captain just get better and better.Feanor wrote: Giroux > Crosby.
Lavy said in the post game press conference that Giroux wanted the first shift...insinuating he was going to do the above

I was at the Flyers game today. I went with a friend and he said I was unreasonably optimistic for a Flyers victory, but I just thought this Flyers team was too resilient to let this series get away from them.
I'm just relieved it's over now though. Now I will focus on rooting for WSH and OTT finishing the upsets and clearing a path to the finals for the Flyers.

This is probably the best he's played in this series and he almost ends it with 4 minutes left. When he plays like tonight, I like the Caps chances. But when he turns into a selfish 'I can do it by myself' attitude he puts the entire team shorthanded.Diablo25 wrote:Ovechkin is scary when he plays hard.
Canucks facing elimination again tonight, some teams advanced to the 2nd round already, some are at game 6, while game 5 is still to be decided at the ROG. It's been an eternity for 'Nucks nation.
Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
Great patience by Seguin to stretch the series to 7. Caps had their chances but couldn't bury them, still not many expected them to still be alive at this point, and I certainly didn't.

Re: Hockey Night in DSP-Season 2011-12
I said to my finance that it was going to be a turnover/breakdown early in OT because the legs on both teams were shot. Seguin did what Chara should have scored on just minutes earlier by faking the shot and getting Holtby to drop. Holtby has been excellent but he has "cheated" a ton by anticipating shots early and Seguin finally made him pay for it.
Looking forward to a fun game 7.
