I am impressed mostly with the second line and the hard working stingy D. A. McDonald has been excellent so far.

A leader like Marleau should take a long look at the mirror. A 3-1 lead reflects well the advantage for your Blues. Elliot is making everyone forget Halak.
Yes he has.. team played its best game last night, imho. Hope we can wrap it up tomorrow night!

A ridiculous 63% success with the PP for the Flyers.

Solid, exciting game. Pens survived that 3rd period. Back to Philly.

It's weird seeing Detroit exit in the first round.

It is but with the team NAS has assembled this year, I kind of expected them to win this series, not in 5 but coming out on top of the Wings.

Fleury was the difference in game 5, as the Flyers showed some frustration at the end of the game.

Changing of the guard in the West. Det out, Chi about to go out, SJ about to go out. All these new young teams.

btw...Pitt and Van are going to with both series back from 3-0

Hope you're right, but it'll be tough against LA. When you play open hockey like the battle of Penn and have players like Crosby, Staal, Geno, Neal etc, it might indeed go to game 7. They only have to play disciplined hockey and stay away from the sin box.

As for the Kings, they play a more boring style, tight checking game. 'Nucks have players that need to wake up still, but what a different team with Daniel back in game 4. They played loose, with confidence and of course Schneider has to do a lot with that. I like to see more traffic in front of Quick, I don't see VAN losing 3 in a row at home so the series will to back to LA.

It's the waiting that kills me. Two 'Coldplay' concerts are to blame. Game is on Sunday at 5PM.

I would also love the Hawks to make the improbable comeback, nothing better than a Canucks-Hawks rivalry in round 2. But first one period at a time, both teams are on a brink.

Credit to where credit is due. Shanny you did the right thing in punishing Torres 25 games for his late hit.

Let's see if this is a PR move or a trend from the NHL front office. I lean toward the former.

Sadly I agree. I hope we are both wrong...but bettman was in the crowd that night and his boys didnt even call a two minute minor.

The Torres suspension will be an anomaly. The length is for the injury sustained and that Torres is a repeat offender several times over.

Sadly, merely throwing a cheap headshot will still be generally allowed or punished lightly.

Even though Raffi is a repeat offender, and Hossa has a concussion under what rationale does Shanahan come up with number 25? Let's not kid ourselves, I think the sheriff gave him an original 12 games max and Torres probably told him to f*** off to which then Shanny said 'Get out of here, you d*****bag I am doubling your suspension'

Whatever it is, and I am not trying to defend the 25 games suspension, the league just seems to constantly backpedal for mistakes they have done and try to take it the easy way out for a repeat offender. Torres was the easy target, and remember folks there was not even a penalty called on the hit.

Consistency? Nada, none, zero.

Sharks screw up again to give STL another own goal.

ADDED - wow wtf, 2 STL goals under a min. And STL couldn't score 2 and a half periods. 2-1, series over. Own Goals are a real backbreaker.

Well, Sharks are done for another year. They sat on that 1-0 lead for too long until the two quick Blues' goals. I thought it was going to be a much tighter series but SJ didnt show much in this series. A. Pietrangelo was huge for the home team. The series with NAS will be a war.

Holtby is just outplaying Thomas and the reason the Caps are ahead 3-2. Not many gave them a chance including myself but there they are, about to upset the SC champs while doing it much without Ovechkin who seems to be in Hunters' dog house.

Anderson was so calm in the game tonight in Manhattan, the whole team seems to be playing for their captain who's still sidelined with a head injury. Still see this one going the distance.

ya 2nd time around it was off the blues, but still a brutal giveaway by Niemi.

STL looks strong to come out of the West. If VAN goes down, even better.

I haven't really seen STL and NASH this year, but they've impressed in the playoffs.
