Out of curiosity, what "in flight" ball camera do most of you use?

What difficulty settings (especially swing) are being used for the tourneys (and in general)?

Since I'm unable to join the DSP club, what is the most fun, popular online mode for you guys outside of the DSP club?
I use True-Aim camera with Animations enabled. This gives better cut-views at the finish, but wastes a little time showinr reverse angle views of your golfer prior to doing so. Unfortunately, Live Tournaments are all limited to Follow Camera (which is default). I personally don't like it as much because it takes me out of the perspective of my golfer, and seems a bit unnatural. I wish they would fix this. We could use True-Aim in live tournaments in Tiger 12.

We've been using Tournament difficulty in DSP club events. I only play Tournament difficulty online.

I mostly play Live tournaments, but I have limited play time presently. I've played 13 head to head matches and have enjoyed them.

In this week's DSP Augusta National Weekly, I had three double bogies, in the second round. I four putted the first hole for one of then. Reached two of the par fives in two, and three putted each for par :(  Still, I made at least 4 putts of greater than 25 feet for par or birdie. I was lucky to shoot a 75 today, to pair with my 72 in round 1.

Thank you sir. Weird about the disabling of True-Aim in online tourneys.

Any tips to putting without the meter? I'm not having a horrible go of it, but it does feel like there is some weird delay from my input to the swing animation.

I absolutely STUNK it up in round 2. Had a triple and a double bogey but was lucky enough to finish even for the day.

Wow.

Talk about fast the DSP Cup has arrived in the home offices. A spectacular trophy that will go to someone (lets face it one of like 3 people) by the end of the year. You will be required to submit photographic proof of you holding the trophy. :)

I haven't played either of my rounds. Wife's birthday tonight, gonna have to pwer play them late.

I actually played real golf today and somehow pulled my left thumb fingernail away from the thumb. Hurts like hell. My point? That is the thumb I use on the left stick in TW. Hope my round 1 score isn't too bad. Might be painful :)

I don't even want to state how much I've spent on this game; release day purchase of the Collector's Ed. + 11 game course pack + a few individual courses to complete the entire course collection. You do the math...

Thing is, I really don't even blink an eye considering I have not played even one second of another game since getting this. I absolutely love it, so um yeah... I say yes, worth it.

Also, have you seen this much talk about a TW golf game, post release, around here? Ever???

If you are buying used, I have a code for the online pass. I rented the game today, decided to buy it and bought the pass. But i could not track down a used copy.

And that makes all of you filthy enablers!

Basically the impressions I've been reading here made me decide to give the game a fresh look. I've accepted the loss of TrueAim play mode, and decided to give it a more open minded look.

The downside is that TW 11 was still a better game. This game looks awesome, but there just seems to be alot of frame rate hitches and stuters. I'm hoping that installing the ame will help.

Also, is there really no Play the Pros mode anymore? That's what got me to buy the code, because playing the Masters with the real scores by real players seemed like a fun thing to do this weekend. But apparently they don't do that anymore, unless I am missing it.

The best improvement is the use of pins instead of ridiculous clothes to apply boosts to your golfers attributes. It allows you to still customize your golfer without applying boosts, or apply boosts without looking dumb.

I am really enjoying the process of setting up shots, and this is even an improvement over TW 11, even if it is way too easy to aim. This is what sold me. There is a lot strategy that may have been buried under the caddy last year.

Incredibly uneventful average opening round at Augusta for me. Up, down, up, down. Made some solid shots and made some stupid mistakes. Finished at +1 so not bad considering.

You're missing it. (Thanks to the incredibly clear EA interface, helpful manual and in game tutorials... :P )

It's in the Xbox live section, under tournaments, scroll down to '2012 Masters,' and then look at more info. *There* it tells you that this is play the pros mode, and you'll see scores reflecting the action of the day.

At first I missed it as well and was annoyed that it was gone, as it ended up being my favorite part of last year's game. It's there, though.

You will never convince me of this. The swing mechanic in 13 is the best I have ever played including Links 2004. The Random landing circles in 11 & 12 made the swing artificially difficult and not at all user controllable as well as being downright unfair at times. The swing in 13 rewards you for executing a good shot as well as penalizing for a poor one. Unlike 11, the execution of the swing is everything and when you begin to groove your swing, you will then figure out how to use tempo to get the shot results you are looking for.

As stated above...when have you ever seen a 41 page thread about TW here? Never, not even close.

Agreed. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. This is my opinion - by far the best Tiger ever.

FRUSTRATED. I just can't seem to get anything going at Augusta  Everytime I do something special (birdie and even an eagle or two) I just give it right back the next hole. I f'n 4 putted the one par 5 in the 2nd round. I got on in two (30 feet away), nearly dropped the eagle, and then choke on the next two putts. I should be under par but alas I am +4. F$&K!!!

On a different note...anyone having issues with their golfer as far as clothing etc? I keep equipping clothing on my golfer but when I hit the course it's just the default black and purple outfit they gave me on day 1. Anyone else?

I have a question on how folks are doing pitch and chips....

When you cycle through the shot types, the aiming marker moves closer to you for some shots (flops, chips, and pitches I think)

But, nothing prevents you from moving the marker out to the full distance of the club. So, that seems to imply the game lets you hit a 100 yard chip shot with a 60 degree wedge......

NOw in reality I realize that probably by moving the marker, i'm just making a full swing now.......

So, when you are trying to pitch the ball, do you pick that as your shot type, and then just cycle through your clubs until you see the distance you want to pitch it?

Also, I find the pitching to be a bit wonky (like chipping) but lately i've been wondering if maybe it's because i move the aiming marker out too far, so then the game goes from "pitch animation" to "full swing".........

Another question, on the practice range, is there any way to see how far you hit the ball? I don't seem to be able to find one.........

And thirdly (since i'm on a roll) what are the extra arrorws around the aiming marker? I have my aim set to "carry distance", but i see other pointers further down the line from my spot. I assumed that was how far the ball *should* roll out after hitting the ground with that particular club....... but thought i'd see if folks had another idea?

I agree too. You just have to look at the online scores…no more rediculous -18 under rounds every round on the hardest difficulty. And those shooting the -12 or -13 scores are probably using Tiger or a loaded up CAG. Still wish they would add where you force someone to use their CAG. You would think it can be done since they have dailies where you have to use a certain pro.

The short game in this Tiger is sublime. Love it.

TW 13? It's worth $70. This is the best multi-platform sports game of this annual cycle, hands down. Better than FIFA 12. Better than Madden 12. Better than NBA 2K12.

Just look at how many DSPers are playing this game nightly. TW 13 country clubs host 25 players, yet we still have a waiting list for DSP CC.

'Nuff said.
