Just squeezed my daily with a +2. Was playing even pretty much the whole game until I accidentally flicked the stick the wrong way on the last hole and went for a little swim.

That was the most infuriating 9 holes of virtual golf I've ever played. The only thing that could compare would be playing it in real life. +9, only because the first @#$%ing hole, I went +4. God, I'm glad that's over. Now I have to play a 'cool down' round, just so I can focus on the paper I have to write. Dammit.

I think that's what impresses me the most. If I'm playing well, I'm in a zone. When I have a bad hole, it quickly turns to 2, 3, 4....or 9 bad more holes. Or Putts. or whatever it is I'm doing wrong. So much like real golf, it's spooky to me. I overthink it every single shot once I start doing poorly, and it spirals out of control.

Well, a par 3 course plays to every weakness I have in golf. No grip it and rip it...just finesse. And I SUCK at finesse...

I haven't broken par at any of our club matches, but still have a blast. I actually got a couple of PS3 versions from Target on clearance for me and one of my buddies to play, since he doesn't have an Xbox. I created a Country Club on the PS3 for him and I, don't know if any folks here have the PS3 version and want to join up (or if they have a country club with room in it that he and I could join, we're not picky!)

And what I had heard was true, for 150,000 coins you can unlock unlimited play on the 11 course pack (less for the smaller packs and individual courses), instead of having to purchase it outright like on the Xbox. That was another factor that prompted me to get it on PS3.

Its a very cool game, I'll be taking it along to the in-laws this weekend. (PS3 version since I don't have a wireless adapter for my xbox unfortunately).

You know, this is a rather huge difference between the two versions, and something that should have been trumpeted by the reviewers and PS3 advocates early and often. I'm not going to switch versions now, because I value my participation in our community and country club, but it's certainly something that would have made me STRONGLY consider the PS3 version at launch.

I dread this Augusta par 3. It KILLED me a couple of times in career mode, though my CAG is now a little better than he was then.

On another note, I can't go back to the meters, now. Late last night I tried an online tour-pro tournament that had meters, and I ended up quitting out because of how distracting I now found them!!!

I was just googling this ps3/xbox dlc issue, and there are some strange things going on. For one, PS3 users can't buy the courses directly like Xbox users can from XBL for MS points. If a PS3 user wants to buy a DLC course with real money, he must first use that cash to buy in-game coins, then use the coins to get the course. People are upset because buying coins doesn't appear to get them the season ticket discount.

I don't know the reasons why EA would do this on PS3 but not Xbox. Either way, I would love to buy DLC for 18k coins. :(

From what I gather, it's Microsoft's fault. They get a $$ cut of DLC, and they WANT their cut of DLC. Coin purchases circumvent that.

The Augusta daily was a disaster for me, 3 drives into the water and a 7 putt on the 7th hole for a +16. :(

TW 13 is the best sports game that I've played since I returned to consoles in November. Better than the other EA 12/13 titles, better than NBA 2K12. Only F1 2011 rivals it.

Fantastic game. So deep, so challenging, so fun.

-2 on the par 3 Augusta, well behind Divot, and probably won't hold up well. Still, I'll take it, given how poorly I've performed here before.

More annoyed at the -7 I put up on the Live Westlake, though. Should have been -10 easy. I keep throwing everything away on the greens.

While I respect everyone's opinion here at DSP, I thought I would never see a post like this from PK.....thank you and everyone else for the great feedback!

The feedback here and the reception the game is receiving is nothing short of amazing to me considering all the previous versions that received a mostly lukewarm reception and a ton of criticism which those versions deserved. I and others in the TW community have been pushing EA HARD to give simulation users more sim gameplay and they are finally moving in a positive direction....thank you all for your honest and candid feedback. I am also going to ask the TW Devs to at least come to DSP to read the feedback and hopefully participate here. Can't promise anything, but I am going to try because DSP has the most mature and objective feedback of any forum that discusses Tiger.....

Ask them to come bearing extra country club slots! That might generate a couple more sales instantly!

I'm glad they moved to make more sim-my options at all, given the online evidence of how many players play another way...

Divot:

Only F1 2011 earns my ultimate seal of approval -- F*CKING AWWWWWWWWWWESOME.

But Tiger 2013 is EFFING AWESOME, moving daily toward the rare air of F*CKING AWWWWWWWWWESOME. :)

wow...just wow.

I started playing a career round at lunch and didn't have time to finish, so I shut the XBox off. This is while my golfer was waiting to hit on the tee, mind you, not during a saving/loading screen.

I come back after work and lost everything. Have to start a new career, and all those hours are wasted. I almost want to sell the game at the moment....deleting your whole save for not quitting back to the title screen? I don't get it. I figured I'd lose any boost pins and xp gained in that match like a normal thing--but my entire save file?

Wow.

EDIT--Thank God, it just doesn't load anything. I went in and tried to load a golfer and it shows all slots empty. When I grabbed one of those slots, then it actually gave me an option to load my guy. I just about sh*t myself thinking I lost the guy.

I believe in career mode you can hit the start button to pause and hit save and quit at the menu, then you can pick up where you left off next time you load up your career.

So, as i approached hole 9 of the daily, i was thinking damn, i should be even, because I blew two easy birdie putts...... damn, i'm going to finish at +2 and 3rd place.

Then......... splash. into the water. Then i hit my next shot to the back of the green (nervous of the water now). Have to chip on, and actually sink a 14 footer........ (one of the birdie putts i missed? 4 feet)

Sigh. I can't wait to see how bad i'm going to do in the DSP Masters!

I almost caught Divot at the Augusta Par 3. Just shot a 4 under...with a double on the 3rd hole. I putted my ass off...and I chipped one in also! Wow, this game is fun. Can't wait for the Masters tomorrow :)

+1 on today's daily!!! Best finish so far no matter what everyone else does since I've been last each day I've been part of the club. :) Birdie on the 9th over that pond felt GOOD!

It won't be me... the Augusta Par 3 exposes the weakest part of my game by a long shot - medium range wedge play. I hit three greens, and putted and short pitched miserably. I can't get feel for the medium range pitches, but I'm getting closer on the short ones. I think I shot 4 or 5 over in this demonstration of ineptitude

Missed the club action tonight... I got an emergency page from my power plant about an hour before the action was supposed to start. I had to deal with that for a couple of hours and missed whatever happened online. I'll be so glad when I'm back on regular hours about a week or so from now... (sigh)
