Fedex guy just came to next door neighbor and tried to deliver something and no one was there to sign for it. I couldn't help thinking he was at the wrong house and it was my iPad. My email and shipping number are UPS though, why is everyone else Fedex. Grrr...

Girl just called, new iPad in hand.

We shall "share" it 2night. :D

I did go to another Best Buy near my office and they had 16GB models available.

I ALMOST caved it. I don't normally store video on my iPhone nor my TouchPad since I'm more of a streamer kind of video watcher on my devices, except on my PS3 (where I of course use Netflix too).

I got a feeling 16GB would be more than enough for me, but that maybe just me trying to convince myself to take another trip to Best Buy...

Do not get the 16gb...the apps are only going to get bigger.

That was my thinking, aps and videos in high definition are going to take up more space so I decided to play it safe and get the 64 gb version. I've always had plenty of space with my Ipad1 (which is now going to my wife) but I'd rather end up with too rather than too little storage space. Of course the $200 is gift certificates I had for BestBuy also helped with the decision to go with the 64 gb model.

Now just have to get to the end of the workday so I can go home and start setting it up.

What are you guys using for cases? I orderd a case but it's not shipping until next Tuesday. Therefore, I'm stopping at Best Buy and picking up an overpriced Targus Slim Case. I know for certain I am not going back to the Smart Cover. Way too many scratches on the back of the unprotected area.

If you want all the apps from your old ipad to transfer over, restore from backup.

Good question. I read some complaints of those complaining about the speed performance when doing a restore rather than a new set up. Those who went with the new system set up seem to be quite happy. However, wouldn't that mean having to download all your old apps again?

I use a Kensington silicone case for the back and the smart cover on the front. Both transferred from my iPad 2 and they fit perfect. Form, function and protection...with minimal bulk. How I like it.

Well I am doing a restore but I don't think that was the right thing to do. I am keeping my old iPad1 and my wife and kids will continue to use it and I would just like to synch both of them to my one PC and share the apps. Now I have 2 Dan's iPads showing up in iTunes.

I want to get my old iPad 1 to say Family iPad but still synch with my iTunes account

Oh well it's alreadyu in process of a restore I'll try and figure it out after it is done.

I do like that. Unfortunately, when I sold my iPad 2, I sold it with the smart cover.

Here's what I ordered. There's a 15 percent off coupon code.

You should be able to install all the same apps. even if you set it up as New.

The Restore will copy over settings files, so you wouldn't have to re-enter all the accounts and so forth.

As for the same names, you should be able to right-click on the icon of the new iPad and rename it.

So um how exactly do I activate this with Verizon? My old iPad was Wifi only and my iPhone is at&t until August. I was assuming I would need to do some kind of activation or something during setup but it never happened.

Since I keep my iPad very lean, I'm still worried about the size.

I don't put any music or videos on it. If I watch movies it's netflix.

The new App size has a me a little concerned. Plus Apple has been trending on keeping it's lowest price devices as the new entry level device when they release a new one. This hurts resale next time around. Whereas a 32 GB iPad 3 won't be offered when they go to an iPad 4.

Got it. Love it. You put the iPad 1 next to the 'new' iPad and you'll immediately tell the difference in sharpness.

Love the restore feature, however it's taking a while to update the apps.

Wow, the retina display is incredibly impressive. I held the new iPad next to my old iPad and couldn't believe how pixilated things looked on the old one after only about 10 minutes looking at the new one! Everything is way 'snappier'. My old iPad was my favorite tech device ever. Not anymore.

No doubt about it. The iPad 2 was already the leader of tablets and now Apple just increased their lead significantly. Even being the technology nerd I am, I can't fathom the resolution and overall computing power in the palm of your hand really. It's truly a feat of engineering to keep it essentially the same size as the iPad 2 while including LTE and that ridiculous display. I'm giving my wife my iPad 2, so hopefully she doesn't see the screen on the new one or she may be b*tching about that. LOL.

It's like Madeusa...just look away if you don't want to buy one now...because once you do, you will want one.

I was going to check one out @ BB tomorrow. Is itunes required on a Windows 7 computer or can you download your stuff via WiFi?
