Mine got to Louisville on 3/13 and hasn't had a status update since which is making me nervous

Apparently a lot of people are seeing that. The delivery companies are probably told to not deliver before 3/16.

I'm pretty sure everyone who ordered on the announcement date and the day after will get theirs tomorrow.

The new iPad takes much longer to charge than the iPad 2. Not a big deal, but worth pointing out.

Just got to my local Best Buy.
I'm #4 in the line so I should get a 32gb easily.
They will be giving out vouchers in a couple of minutes.
It would be my fiancee's tablet since I'm still using my Touchpad (not regularly) BUT if this maybe the time I take the plunge and finally get an iPad.

I will give my impressions later 2night.sportdan30 wrote:Looking forward to hearing impressions!
I'm just gonna pick up the voucher and take it to my girl.
She'll pick up the prize later in the morning.
I will surely be rewarded later for being an awesome and thoughtful partner.

*my words of course lol *

Congrats on getting on Javi. Mine is currently on the Fed Ex truck out for delivery. Hopefully it hasn't been tossed around a lot!

I'm no Johnny tech review guy so others will surely give better impressions than I can, but as I stated in my earlier post, holy mother of he**.
Keep in mind I was using an iPad 1 until last night so for me this thing is mind blowing. Got home at 12:30, played with it until 3:00am. The screen is obscenely good. Holding it next to my original I can't believe how incredible the difference is. And the speed…oh the speed. So fast moving around now. And obviously the power comparatively speaking is like night and day. But again, these are all things we expected with this new device.
But what really has me stoked is iPhoto. I have just recently gotten into photography and was very close to buying a MacBook Air as my primary photo management device, but once I heard about this being added as an option it became a no brainer to go this route and I am not disappointed in the least. I purchased the camera connection kit and in about 5 minutes had 500+ photos transferred directly onto the iPad by simply plugging in the SD card adapter with card inserted and clicking import. And then it was just like on my mac within iPhoto. Awesome.
Movies and tv shows look phenomenal. My Sports Illustrated subscription looks like a completely different magazine on this thing. You guys that are "lying in wait" today, be as excited as you think you should be, particularly if this is a first venture into the iPad world or if you're moving from the original like I did. For those of you who are going from the 2 to the 3, the screen alone will blow your mind.
Enjoy boys…I am.

Great impressions! Can't wait to toy around with it this evening. I heard there are already specific updated apps featured in the App Store for the new iPad.RallyMonkey wrote:I'm no Johnny tech review guy so others will surely give better impressions than I can, but as I stated in my earlier post, holy mother of he**.

Re: Apple and Macs: New products, iMacs, iWork, iLife
Just a note, my Walmart had only 5 people at midnight and my local Best Buy only had 15 people in line at opening. There are still a crapload left at BB. For those that did not pre-order but want one, I think they are going to be far more readily available than the 2 was at launch.
Re: Apple and Macs: New products, iMacs, iWork, iLife
Well I stopped at Target which is near work, about 20 minutes before opening. I was sixth in line out of maybe 20 people. They only had ten 16 GB and ten 64 GB, all Wifi, all black.
I got a ticket for the 16 GB but I think I'll look for the 32.
Less likely to have luck at BB. No 24-hour Walmarts near here.

Sounds like there is plenty of stock at Best Buy and the Apple Store. I think the pre-orders definitely helped them not blow through their inventories as quickly.
I just checked on my shipment and it's due to arrive no later than 10 pm! Fed Ex must be overloaded with all their deliveries.

I may be going blind, walked into a BB and they had a new iPad sitting against an iPad 2 (or what I thought was an iPad 2 since it was labelled as a 2). Couldn't tell the difference. I had been using an iPad 2 all morning and it wasn't the jump in quality I originally thought it would be.
I think they didn't have the right ones out or something. Strange.
