Michael Bush is visiting the Bears today. I hope this happens just to get him out of Terry's hands in Madden.

Dude is such a bull
. If he goes there, he'd have the same problem he did in Oakland though. Sitting behind Forte until he needs a breather or gets hurt. In Oakland, at least he was guaranteed around half a season of carries when McFadden inevitably got hurt.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I'd say overall no...just because he is supremely talented, but just from a pain in the ass standpoint, yes. I just would not be surprised if he is killed like Chad Henry...riding in the back of his crazy gf/wife's truck trying to stop her or some crazy ass sh*t like that. So there's always that risk.Danimal wrote:So you're saying you are glad he is out of Miami?dbdynsty25 wrote: That describes another WR I know...who's hittin' b*tches at the clubs of late.

Except that someone else took the trouble of paying him his guaranteed money already, then traded him for 50 cents on the dollar.dbdynsty25 wrote:That describes another WR I know...who's hittin' b*tches at the clubs of late.Brando70 wrote:He's physically very gifted, but he's also very inconsistent and tends to pad his stats with a few monster games before disappearing for stretches.

Yup stupid for the Dolphins to unload the guy after giving up two 2nd rounders. The guy put up decent numbers although erratic. I do cut him slack for playing with a sub-par Henne although Moore was a much better upgrade.Brando70 wrote:Except that someone else took the trouble of paying him his guaranteed money already, then traded him for 50 cents on the dollar.dbdynsty25 wrote:That describes another WR I know...who's hittin' b*tches at the clubs of late.Brando70 wrote:He's physically very gifted, but he's also very inconsistent and tends to pad his stats with a few monster games before disappearing for stretches.
I'm wondering if the Dolphins thought maybe a suspension could happen if the League thought he was responsible for what happened?
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Just that there is a big difference between the Marshall deal and the Jackson signing. It's a pretty low-risk move for the Bears, especially if you look at some of the stiffs they've drafted in the third round during the past 10 years. I would still be glad to have Marshall's talent as a FA, but if they gave him $50 million and half of that guaranteed, my enthusiasm would be tempered considerably. There is no faster way to screw up your franchise than owing money for FA busts you signed to big deals.dbdynsty25 wrote:It wasn't ME, so I don't understand your point?

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Fair enough. Miami is making a habit of it. The only big name free agent in the last, I don't know like 10 years has been Karlos Dansby and he's only going into year 3...so still room for flameout.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Unless you're the Mets. Don't they still owe Bobby Bonilla millions?Brando70 wrote:Just that there is a big difference between the Marshall deal and the Jackson signing. That is one mega deal for mega tron.
Guy does catch everything and had a true monster season. ...."Rice, Moss and Johnson are the only players in NFL history with at least 95 receptions, 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns in a season."
Plus they shaved nine million off of their cap?...Compared to what the Rams paid Finnegan , it sounds cheap.

Okay... but it is a nice touch.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Eagles resign DeSean Jackson for five years, $51 million. That does not seem like a wise use of money.

Im surprised Johnson didnt get more
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Seems like the contracts are bigger than under the previous CBA.
Owners were saying they needed more money?
Of course, a lot of these players will be asked to restructure or get cut if they suffer a major injury or see a decline in their performance or their teams draft players who look to pan out.
On the CJ deal, didn't the Cards get hamstrung by giving Fitz so much money? They ended up having to trade Boldin and let a lot of their other starters go. Then they gave Colb a big contract but they may dump him, even if they don't get Payton. And they may lose two more starters on the OL this year.
On NFLN, they were saying Peyton will get about $20 million a year. So much for winning. One reason the Colts roster lacked depth may have been that his contract ate up a lot of the cap. If he gets that kind of money with a new team, how many starters will they have to give up?

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I wish the Dolphins would just say NO to Manning, $20 million is a lot to gamble on someone who might not be healthy enough to play. My hope is the FO has some sense to draft the best available QB after Luck and RGIII and let Moore start or the best WR available. Moore did a good job last year with what he was dealt.

Probably won't be able to get Manning now that they signed Solai to an extension. Just ate up 5 mil of their 14 mil of cap space (all approximate).Rodster wrote:I wish the Dolphins would just say NO to Manning, $20 million is a lot to gamble on someone who might not be healthy enough to play. Yeah just read that on the Herald. Glad to see him resigned. He also did a really good job last year.dbdynsty25 wrote:Probably won't be able to get Manning now that they signed Solai to an extension. Flynn, you're up! Bring in him and Brandon Lloyd and give it a shot. That's best case right now. As embarrassing as that is to type out.
