I wonder how many more he could have scored if he wasn't under the weather. The first goal over the keeper's head and when they went up 7-0 were things of beauty.

Pep perfectly described Messi's brilliance with this post-game quote: "The throne is his."

Messi never even looks like he's trying hard. Everything appears to come completely natural to him. Only 24 years old and already poised to be one of the upper elite to ever play the sport.

Cheesers.

So does futbol have a version of hitting batters who hit too many HRs or try to steal bases with a big lead?

Terrible "no goal" call in the QPR-Bolton game. Didn't realize EPL is going to try goal line technology next year. Too many "no goals" this year in league play, and this one was terrible. A good 2 feet over the line.

update - clear offsides by QPR on a goal. The goal was let to stand. Poetic justice in the end.

Roberto Di Matteo -- instant Stamford Bridge LEGEND.

What an unreal comeback today by Chelsea against everyone's Champions League darling, Napoli.

Man, I hope Ray Hudson stays at GOL TV. His enthusiasm and twists of phrase are magical.

Was that Sky live on TV or on a Web video? Sky's website is reporting Muamba is "critically ill" and fighting for his life:

PK, That was from a tweet earlier.

and from soccernet

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story ... se?cc=5901
After being treated by six paramedics, Muamba, 23, was rushed to hospital where a spokesman earlier told Sky sources he was in a stable condition after medical staff managed to restore his breathing.

However, the club have now released a statement which read: ''Bolton Wanderers can confirm that Fabrice Muamba has been admitted to the heart attack centre at London Chest hospital where he is currently in a critically ill condition in intensive care.

Ah, thanks. Wish those earlier updates held steady. Looks more grim now.

So sad.

I'm having four wisdom teeth pulled on Saturday. Expect it will be less painful than this game...or Saturday's vs. Wigan for that matter. Rough year.

4 Teeth? Ouch!

Weeeeeeeee, Wigan on the weekend - that match is going to be AMAZING - I predict 0-0, Liverpool get 27 corners and do f'all with them and Kenny praises the team for their effort. I don't even want to watch that match and yet like a masochist I will.

I'd like to take most of that squad and jettison them into space. We're not getting 4th, lucky to get 5th, just play Raheem Sterling, Jonjo Shelvey and a bunch of the youngsters. Charlie Adam (who I thought started off his Anfield career pretty well - Man U at home he was great) can go f*** off, ditto for Downing. Also, while he was a great great servant to the club, someone needs to give Carra a career ending injury so we don't have to see his hoof-ball-out-of-position 'defending' anymore because it doesn't look like he wants to retire anytime soon and for some reason Kenny rates him.

If Dave T was capable of happiness he'd be quite pleased with City's win today.
