Here's the worst part…..I now have decided that switching the cartridges during the times this device will be played…on the couch, in bed, while traveling…will be too much of a pain in the a**. SO, i will be returning the games, grabbing a 32gb memory card, and downloading my games from here on out. Actually I will keep one of the games and just leave that cartridge in the Vita. Sure I lose the ability to trade games in which is why I convinced myself to purchase physical games in the first place, but having spent the afternoon swapping them out, the pros for downloads outweigh the cons.

Like db said earlier…live and learn.

On a positive note, this thing is awesome. Very happy I picked it up.
How much of a pain is to replace the cartridges? They can't be that bad?

I've done that with the PS3 to PSP so unless things have drastically changed you should be able to PS3 to Vita.

Yes.

And 10s...you hook it up to your computer...install the Content Manager...and the backup the stuff from the Vita to the PC. Then install the new memory card and reverse it from PC to Vita. That's it.

Can you re-download purchases from the PlayStation Store? i have an 8GB card, which should hold 3 games, that's plenty for me as long as I can re-download purchases and swap games on/off the card.

It sucks. It seems to be one of the most common complaints from nearly everyone who's tried it and has messed with the thing. Even with modest fingernails, it's almost impossible to get the door open. May just rip the f*cker off soon. I refuse to buy downloadable games unless I'm certainly going to keep it (i.e. the Show) just for resale value. So I'm living with it. I'm not sure how this passed testing...it's a HORRENDOUS door that covers the cards.

Cool. Thank you sir, I think I am going to buy a 16GB memory like you. Eventually third parties are going to come up with their version I guess, (I wonder about reliability though) and at cheaper prices but for now a 16GB size will do for me.

You can dl them onto the PS3 and transfer them. My Vita continues to dl games even when I leave it for a long time.

Yeah, it was awkward at first to get that damn little cart door open, but I've mastered it and can open it with no issues now. I don't think it's much of an issue at all once you learn how to do it quickly. I have so many games now that I have had plenty of practice in changing cartridges.

Well, I have been messing around with this bad boy for about an hour. I've got everything registered, updated, signed in, etc. I don't have any games so I'm going to DL a demo or two to get the feel of a game.

The one thing that jumped out at me first is how gorgeous the screen is. I'm very impressed so far. Very cool stuff so far. Bring on THE SHOW.

Honestly for me it's not the challenge of the door or anything (although i agree with earlier statements that it feels a little to flimsy for my liking), it's the process of having to actually switch between games. I'd just much rather have the games sitting on the memory card and hit the ps button to move between games. Not to mention, these cartridges are so damn small I'm bound to lose some if I go that route.

It's a port of the 360/PS3 game. I remember reading an interview a while back that said it was around 20 hours if you try to collect everything. It's not short, that's for sure. It's a fantastic port. I played a few hours of the 360 version and when I learned it was coming to Vita I stopped. Been playing it on the Vita ever since and it's nearly identical.

Have you guys checked to see if you can install a cartridge based game to the memory card?

While I'm sure Sony was ever so close to the idea of letting me buy a cartridge, install it to a memory card, then pass it around to all of my friends to do the same, they must have pulled the plug on that just before release.

No, it's not possible unfortunately.

Honestly, I haven't had a problem with switching games at all. I even did it in the dark last night with no problems. I was messing around last night and saw that you can configure the background color of each page separately which is pretty cool.

My games came from Amazon yesterday (Lumines, Army Corps, Rayman) but I had a wake to go to last night so I didn't get to check out much except for a little bit of Army Corps of Hell and the FIFA, Hustle Kings, and Unit 13 demos before bed. I really liked the rear touch shooting in FIFA but I didn't really utilize the front touch screen for anything. Unit 13 was really cool. I am definitely picking that one up. Hustle Kings played a pretty good game of pool and I might end up spending the $10 on it. ACoH was right up my alley. Metal, demons, more metal, more demons. I can't wait to get some time in with Rayman and Lumines tonight.

I think the thing I like the most about the Vita is the fact that we can now get console quality games on a handheld and the games (except for Uncharted) cost between $29.99 and $39.99. The launch lineup is strong too. I have Uncharted, Modnation Racers, Little Deviants, and the above 3 games and there's still more I would like including FIFA and Virtua Tennis 4.

Edit: I think I read somewhere that if you are downloading games or demos directly to the Vita they will continue to download in sleep mode if the Vita is plugged in. It did work for me as I queued a bunch of stuff the other night before bed and they were downloaded when I got home from work the next morning.

Sony allowed that with the PSP and I don't think you could pass the memory card around. Sony are the kings of DRM. If not now I expect them to allow it down the road. The one thing that will push the idea forward is when the Vita gets hacked.

That's when installing a game from your UMD to memory card became reality.

Played FIFA last night and some today. I was not a fan of FIFA 12 because of the changes that were made. I actually like FIFA on the Vita since it seems to be using a different engine. The touch screen passing on the front of the Vita is useless to me because I need my hands for the other controls. I still like the backscreen based touch shooting though. That's what really impressed me with the demo I played a couple weeks ago. Very glad I went ahead and bought this game, as it has a lot of depth and most importantly is just fun to play.

I'll try F1 and Rayman later today and post impressions.

I wanted to say, if you guys like platformers and didn't play the 360/PS3 version you must get Rayman Origins - was one of my favourite games of last year.

Yeah, the front touch screen for Fifa is of no use to me, but the back touch adds a nice element of surprise to the opposition in some cases shaving a mili second off when shooting, than rather using the O button.

Picked up Mod Nations Racers, UnCharted and Marvel at lunch. Mod is really cool but coming off Hot Shots took some getting use to with the thumbsticks. I'll try Uncharted later. I really didn't want Marvel but Target had a real shitty selection and it was that of Ninja Gaiden. So I grabbed it and might just keep it in the wrapper and try and return it for something else.

I'm not liking not having manuals I'll tell you that. I didn't even know and still don't know what the reverse touch screen does on Hot Shots Golf I just accidentally hit something last night and there were way point lines on the fairway and then I was never able to get them back.
