One of the most impressive thing about Lin tonight is how he's running the floor finding open guys. But he's gotta cut down on the turnovers. The Knicks look and play so different when he's on the floor.

New test for David Stern to fail: will they let Lin around the rules & let him play in the all star & rookie & upcoming stars game(or whatever it is called)?? How could you not? Oh yeah, Stern...

That part I don't understand. How is he worthy of going to the all star game? He's only played in 7 games?

OTOH that would make Floyd Mayweather even angrier. :)

Not "the" all-star game, but the rookies game the day before (you know, the game no one watches, but would now watch if Lin was in it).

Lin isn't a rookie. He played for Golden State last year.

The rookie game is actually called the "Rookie Challenge" in which guys in their first and second years are eligible. :) To be accurate.

My mistake. I thought it was just first-year guys.

The story now is that Lin will "help" teammate Iman Shumpert in the dunk contest, similar to the way Baron Davis assisted Blake Griffin last year.

I don't know, I think a lot of Cavs fans will have some interest in that game, with or without Jeremy Lin.

Great to see the Bulls winning despite the injury problems. It helps that they have played some bad teams, but still, to miss Rose for several games and with Hamilton still out, it's a testament to Thibodeau's coaching and the chemistry this team has.

ESPN is catching some heat for running a Jeremy Lin headline after their loss to the Hornets last night. "Chink in the Armor"

Sorry but I find that funny. :)

I wonder how so many people missed this or thought this was okay. Or did some a-hole who hated Lin get to do the graphic. Mind-boggling in the age of over sensitivity that stuff like this gets missed.

Paul, you know the inside of sports organizations and media better than anyone, how does this get through in this age?

Well for the over sensitive types ESPN fired a bunch of people. And the FOX Sports remark was equally as bad. After a Knicks win there was a comment that some lucky lady was going to enjoy a couple of inches of pain.

"At ESPN we are aware of three offensive and inappropriate comments made on ESPN outlets during our coverage of Jeremy Lin.

Saturday we apologized for two references. We have since learned of a similar reference Friday on ESPN Radio New York. The incidents were separate and different. We have engaged in a thorough review of all three and have taken the following action:

• The ESPN employee responsible for our Mobile headline has been dismissed.

• The ESPNEWS anchor has been suspended for 30 days.

• The radio commentator is not an ESPN employee.

We again apologize, especially to Mr. Lin. His accomplishments are a source of great pride to the Asian-American community, including the Asian-American employees at ESPN. Through self-examination, improved editorial practices and controls, and response to constructive criticism, we will be better in the future. "

A lethal mix of stupidity and hubris.

As an organization, ESPN thinks it's larger than sports. That causes some of its employees, even to the lowest rungs of the ladder, to think they can get away with nearly anything. The "boys club" mentality among "SportsCenter" anchors in Bristol, especially toward female staffers, is an example. Read "Those Guys Have All The Fun" if you want to learn more.

Soccer fans will recognize the name of the ESPNEWS anchor suspended for repeating the "chink in the armor" statement on the air about Lin: Former Fox Soccer Channel mainstay Max Bretos.

I like Max. I hope he bounces back from this mistake quickly within the industry.

It wasn't f***in funny when it was said before. And it is even more offensive seeing you repeat it with a freaking laughing smiley.

You are pathetic.

Sixers just got f***ed in Minnesota. I'm tired of watching these bullshit refs blow calls. Clean strip by Iggy but it was Kevin Love so gotta blow the whistle. They just handed a game to the Wolves. f*** me.

Hmm, starting to think the Warriors would be better off with Lin than Curry. Probably better off than with Monta Ellis, given Ellis' big contract.

Curry is a much better shooter but Lin is more physical and gritty, able to get to the hole to score or draw defenders and able to dish the ball out.

Monta is a more explosive player but teams can smother him. Still a very good player but with a huge contract that maybe eats up too much of the cap to improve the team.

Oh well, just like the Warriors to have a former player do much better on another team.

The guy that was fired was 28, and honestly, I believe it was a mistake. It's an old ethnic slur and I could see someone not knowing it. I can't see someone knowingly doing this unless they are trying to get fired.

It should have been caught, but I really don't think it was intentional. On top of that, copy editing is fast becoming a lost art in the age of insta-journalism.

Lin has been great, but his turnover numbers are appalling. If you compare their performance since Lin started, Lin has slightly more points and assists, but his TOs are double Curry's.

This was my thought and I also think you'll see a lawsuit out of this or ESPN quietly gave the guy a big goodbye package because I don't see how that is a fireable offense unless you can prove it was done on purpose.
