Really Jonesin' for Sony's Move controller to come out! I've been really getting into the game of late...building up my golfer and can't wait to play this bad boy with motion controls. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

Move arrives this week
On a similar note, I saw that John Daly ProStoke Golf comes out in October. Built for use with the Move controller. Interesting.

If it plays as well on the PS3 with Move as it does on the Wii...you guys will be in golfing heaven.
Make sure to play on all of the hardest settings for the best experience.
The only downer for you is that the Wii has 29 courses....but at least you get the slick graphics...although I think I would rather have the courses

Agreed. However, I believe the Wii has 27 courses and there are 32 available for the 360/PS3 (including DLC)....pigpen81 wrote:If it plays as well on the PS3 with Move as it does on the Wii...you guys will be in golfing heaven.

Oh, no argument, but since EA has dropped the prices for all DLC courses a week or so ago, it lessens the pain unless you bought them when they came out like I did (except for the ridiculously priced fantasy courses).Rodster wrote:Free is always better than having to pay for DLC courses.DivotMaker wrote:Agreed. That's why I hold onto my TW's games just for that reason.DivotMaker wrote:Oh, no argument, but since EA has dropped the prices for all DLC courses a week or so ago, it lessens the pain unless you bought them when they came out like I did (except for the ridiculously priced fantasy courses).
Question? I'm trying to figure out the preview shot or whatever EA calls it. On the 360 I press and hold the B button and it shows where the ball is going to land. This is where i'm confused. I use the D-Pad and press down on the pad and supposedly it indicates how far the ball is going to travel to get there but that doesn't work for me.
For example lets say i'm 85 yards out to the cup and my caddy says use a 9 iron. So I press the B button and at 100% i'm over by a long shot. So I adjust the power of the shot by pressing down on the D-Pad. But if I swing at 100% i'll overshoot my target. Am I missing something?
Btw my example is crude since I don't play golf and don't really follow the sport unless said wife is chasing golfer husband with a 9 iron.

Re: Tiger Woods 11 Discussion
Yes, you are missing something. Notice that when you pull the target circle back, eventually it'll turn to 100% again and you will club up (going from a 9 to a PW). So when you see the target circle WAY past the green at 100%, you will pull the circle back until you to to your desired landing spot. That's usually going to be a smaller percentage of the 9 iron because if it were a PW @ 100% that is the club that would have been recommended.Rodster wrote:For example lets say i'm 85 yards out to the cup and my caddy says use a 9 iron. That's the biggest pain in the game...when it tells you that you need a 85% shot. I just can't figure out the tempo and the touch to consistently hit that 85% or anywhere even close really.

Re: Tiger Woods 11 Discussion
I agree. It is not exactly intuitive nor does it seem to relate to what your Golfer on the screen is doing fully 1:1. However, through trial and error and a new "soft or deft touch" on the analog stick, I have finally found a way to manage the <100% shots. You basically have to simply not bring the analog stick back as far as you would a full swing, but also watch the club and start your downswing before the club reaches full back swing. I can manage 50-85% shots pretty well, but anything below 50% is a crap shoot and by that time usually a different club takes care of the gap. Try using a very delicate touch on the analog stick, then bring it back slowly and then try different speeds on the downswing to see if you can master the < 100% shots. The best place to do this is in the Training Facility or Swing Tuner.dbdynsty25 wrote:That's the biggest pain in the game...when it tells you that you need a 85% shot. Well, I played about 27 holes using the controller and I'm still getting a feel for things. I shot a 79 at Sawgrass on Tour Pro with true aim. I like the feel of things but it's tough trying to find my swing groove with the Move. Just going to take some practice.Diablo25 wrote:Just got my Move contoller off the UPS truck. How the hell do you get it to work with the move controller? The game doesn't respond to the Move and I can't find an add-on or patch on the PSN Store...
Nevermind...that's dumb, you cant navigate the menus with it?

No you can't navigate menus with it. When you go to play it asks you what controller you want to use. Obviously go with the Move controller. Just use your PS3 remote or the PS3 controller to navigate into the game. Once into actual gameplay you can use the Move for everything.

One thing I have found out when moving your target left/right is to move the Move controller first and then pull the T or trigger button. This makes it easier to move the target in a short, controlled way. Just keep tapping the T button and the target will move slightly.

Build up your golfer to level 5 with some power and accuracy also.
It took me around 8 rounds before I broke par.

Re: Tiger Woods 11 Discussion
I did not care for Tiger with the move controller. Felt just like the Wii version to me. Here are my complaints and if someone has a solution to make these better for me I'd love to hear it.
First of all, if I take an ordinary pass at the ball I hit it about 160 off the tee. I get around 60-70%. Now I can get 100%, but I have to swing like I am going to hit it to China. I played two holes when I picked the Move up, and my shoulder was killing me immediately. The problem for me is there is no resistance because there is no weight in your hand nor do you impact with anything. As much as I wanted to like it, I'll just stick with the 360 version with a controller.
I might add that you get much better results swinging with one hand, but that defeats the whole purpose of motion controllers so I digress.

Re: Tiger Woods 11 Discussion
I had a chance to compare TW 08/09/10/11 for the X360. And I must say the '09 version looks the best of the bunch. It has a nice amount of AA so there aren't as many jaggies as there is with the other three.
Re: Tiger Woods 11 Discussion
I'm going to pick up John Daly's Prostroke Golf on Tuesday. It was made for use with the Move controller. From the videos I've seen it looks solid. I'll be posting impressions.Badgun wrote:I did not care for Tiger with the move controller. Felt just like the Wii version to me. I just won the TPC Challenge at Boston with a 4 round total of -19 with the Wii version
I am averaging a 69.5 on Tour Pro Expert difficulty.
I am also at 70% fairways hit and 55% GIR.
So much more to play with the 11 version and I still have the 12 version to go
