It's not the kid, it's the media hype around him. He's legitimately a good kid...and we are so damned cynical, we don't know what to do with a legitimately good kid. He really doesn't do what irritates us so much...the media does it and hits repeat. That's the problem.
Well, that...and the fact that the Broncos are even PLAYING this game. Says something about the talent in the division. Holy moly.
But Brady is an absolute beast. And that Pats D.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Thankfully we should get a few months off without this Tebow crap. The Patriots terrible D exposed the sh*t out of that high school offense and it just goes to show that crap doesn't work in the NFL. It's all flukey...I mean really...Tebow has less completions than Brady has TDs! smh

Except for politics, I dont remember anybody getting so much undeserved love and hate all at the same time.Teal wrote:It's not the kid, it's the media hype around him. The thought of a Packer-Patriot Super Bowl has me all tingly.
Now a damn FG. Only reason I still have it on is to see a guy I do not like break the TD record.
That Niner- Saint game did have a great finish even though I was on the wrong rooting end.

There fixed it for ya. The best part of Tebow going down is all the money Dan bet on him and this game.sportdan30 wrote:Brady = nice guy, Elite, Future HOF quarterback

I havent dismissed the Giants yet. Go Eli!

Agreed a Packers vs Patriots SB match would be epic.

Nothing uglier than forcing me to root for the Packers or God forbid the Niners.
So I really really need them Giants to pull off another one of them there playoff wins in Green bay like they did a few years back.
Saints really screwd me today
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Teebow era over. Sick of Tom Brady, he truly is Satan's love child.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The game was over before HT. Despite the blowout the paparazzis were still all over TT, rather than Brady. Never thought that DEN would have the slighest chance despite their good win last week, but the kid will be back.
Brady vs Rodgers would be awesome to watch.

Packers...Giants, either is fine with me so my boys can exact revenge for Favre/Howard or Manning/David "would you like fries with that" Tyree.
Tommy is a man possessed right now so Swiss cheese D or not, he'll outscore any team he plays against from here on out. I am hoping for the Pack though because a 76-75 final in a Super Bowl would be AWESOME!!

No player-coach combination says FU in the NFL quite like Brady and Hoodie.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Singletary didn't really build the team. Key players like Gore, Justin Smith, Davis and Willis were here before Singletary took over.Zeppo wrote:He might have lost the team with poor man management and bad in-game decisions, but you have to admit that the team Harbaugh inherited is the team Singletary built. That's not a bunch of no good bozos in that locker room; he put together one heck of a group of quality character, team-oriented, hard working tough guys, and Harbaugh is reaping the benefits.RobVarak wrote:How shitty a coach was Mike Singletary? LOL
He might have been involved in picking Crabtree.
He didn't have much coaching experience before he got that head coaching job. He didn't bring anything as far as developing players or an offensive or defensive scheme.
The hope was he was more of an inspirational figure and that good assistants would carry the Xs and Os. The problem was, he couldn't attract real good coordinators, especially on offense -- Jimmy Raye was about the only one he could get.
Just about every personnel move has worked out this year. They let 2 or 3 starters on defense go and they waited until towards the end of free agency to sign 1-year deals for Rodgers and Goldson and both of those players had good years. The backups for 2 of the starters have stepped up, especially Bowman. Whether that's luck or the coaching staff came up with the best schemes to use their talents, you have to give Harbaugh credit -- and he attracted good assistant coaches.
Singletary and Harbaugh were teammates but Harbaugh had more coaching experience by the time he became an NFL HC.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Over-under on that matchup might be 80 points, not just because the passing games are so good but because both defenses have been porous.Rodster wrote:Agreed a Packers vs Patriots SB match would be epic.
Would that really be epic?

Anyone that thinks they are free of 'Tebow-talk in the sports world' is setting themselves up for serious disappointment.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I agree with that. We really needed the Steelers to win to have had any hope though that probably wouldnt have been enough. Those highly improbable finishes against the Dolphins and Bears sealed our Tebow fate for at least another nine months.greggsand wrote:Anyone that thinks they are free of 'Tebow-talk in the sports world' is setting themselves up for serious disappointment.
The media...After the game last night all the camera guys surrounded Tebow while the winning qb, who is probably one of the greatest of all time and who had just tied a playoff record walked off relatively free of them.
Another year of this Tebow lovers and haters idiot fest has me feeling a little like this guy.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I think so too. At least he and the Broncos got to the 2nd round. I can't say that for my Fish/Phins.greggsand wrote:Anyone that thinks they are free of 'Tebow-talk in the sports world' is setting themselves up for serious disappointment.

Not in my opinion. The Giants are going to the Super Bowl. This is from an Eagles fan. I just think their D is going to do enough against GB and Eli, who has had a hell of a year, is going to beat them. Remember, the Packers D is WEAK. Take the Giants over the Pack straight up.XXXIV wrote:The thought of a Packer-Patriot Super Bowl has me all tingly.![]()

I still don't get all the negative comments directed at Tebow. So he takes his team to the playoffs and wins in the first round.. seems like it worked pretty damn good if you ask me?dbdynsty25 wrote:Thankfully we should get a few months off without this Tebow crap. NE and their cheating asses can suck it as far as I'm concerned. They probably had one of their guys video tape the Broncos practices earlier in the week.

As Jimmy Johnson said many times. The NFL is a bottom line business, either you win or lose and people judge you by where you got in the season. Tebow took the Broncos further than my beloved Dolphins.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Let it go. NE weren't the only team videotaping back then, and they certainly doesn't need to videotape anything to shut down the run option. It is a one dimensional offense and teams were shutting them down the last 4 weeks of the season. Pittsburgh had too many injuries and lack of in game adjustment doomed them.MizzouRah wrote:ating asses can suck it as far as I'm concerned. Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I may be wrong but I'm expecting this second AFC game to be almost as non competitive as last night's game. Question: would this mean that the NFC is now the better conference overall, that the pendulum has fully swung? Or is it that the NFC is simply more competitive among its better teams, whereas the AFC is top-heavy?
As usual since the salary cap era began, we don't seem to see any truly complete teams, teams that are very good in all three phases. After yesterday, though, there's an argument to be made that SF is as complete a team as there is. You could say the Giants might be as well, but I watched them lose twice to my awful Redskins, and the second time was in the Swamp and wasn't very close and only a few weeks ago.

We all know they didnt need any help to easily crush the Broncos.
Go Ravens!
