Looks and sounds great but I can't see myself getting a Vita.

Umm...even as a die hard baseball fan, I couldn't pick him out of a lineup and I doubt most fans outside of Toronto could. That's a bad choice actually.

Actually, from what I understand he may be just on the cover for the Canadian release as they are trying to improve sales north of the border. And his cover will surely do that. There maybe another player for the US release.

That would make a lot more sense.

Adrian Gonzalez is on the US cover. Guess they were tired of Mauer.

Red Sox nation better to tap into than the Mauer nation as a marketing stand point. Even if Adrian really isn't that big of a name. He's a good play but not a household name by any means.

It would be cool if you could choose your own cover player. Maybe if you pre-ordered, you got to pick.

I would pick Joey Votto.

There are a couple of gameplay videos up at OS. Cards vs. Cubs, part 1 and 2.

Really love the baseball presentation quality with the different cut aways. The game play of course looks excellent, and I can't wait to try out the pulse pitching.

The commentary....well, it's gotten better but not by much. You'll hear a bit more new lines in part 2 than in part 1, but it's still not on the same level as the MLB 2K series.

With that said, I love some of the new batting stances, pitching motions, accessories, animations, and bat and pitch sounds. Looks to be a nice upgrade!

Edit: Part 3 is up as well. Can't wait to pick this game up on release day! Looks like it'll be a dream to play on the Vita.

Been watching some of the videos over at OS and I LOVE the fact that they fixed the damn crack of the bat sounds. You could barely hear it in previous games and now there is a definite crack when you make good contact. Also a huge fan of the cleaned up hitting animations. Always hated the front foot swing animations in previous versions. In one of the videos Soriano smokes a double to left (Vid below at like 1:28 mark) and he stays behind the ball on the swing - NICE. Great to see. March 6th get here please :)

Head on over to Operation Sports. They always have a thread with very well done user created covers.

One thing I wish they would get right is the "pop" of the pitch into the catcher's glove. I think the ball speed is a slow and floaty too. It's minor things but wish they could get it perfect.

They recorded all new audio of the pitches "popping" the catcher's glove. They took audio from a minor league team for all the catching and batting sounds.

I already wish I could turn the commentary off.

However, game looks great and the batting physics look even better this year. It's a purchase for sure, I just have to figure out if I want it at launch of wait for the first patch and roster updates (and maybe a sale).

Is full analog control the default control mode in the Vita version? I finally played a demo unit (loved it) but those thumbsticks seem a little loose and wiggly to provide the precision necessary for thumbstick pitching. I know there are alternates if so, but I'd like to use the same thing on Vita that I do on PS3, and analog has its benefits.

I'm excited like I am every year. Improved ball physics look to be a really welcome addition along with some of the new animations.

Also, pitching the ball actually looks like pitching where the arm really snaps when the ball is thrown.

However, this may not be the year where the casual fan is blown away by all of the obvious changes. I can see some not really seeing a huge differnce from last year.

Not feeling a big difference may not be a bad thing when talking about The Show.

Really, the only two improvements I'd like to see are having it be harder to throw strikes (without having to use classic pitching) and better management AI by the CPU.
