U are trying to control guys without the ball? I'm still dribbling down the court, trying to to step out of bounds while looking for someone to pass to :)

Last night was the perfect example of my passing dilemma. I had the ball at top left guard position. The opposite guard was all by himself on the other side. Between us was a single defender. Of course, the pass that inthought surely would goner the defender went right to him.

I do not have this years game but in the past the way it was suppose to work was to throw over a defender you lightly hit the pass button. Kind of like in Madden where you hit it lightly to throw over a linebacker or hold down harder to throw a bullet.

It worked fairly well when throwing into the post, not so good cross court.

If you are using icon passing, pull up the icons and lightly press the icon of the player you are throwing to. Problem is, sometimes the softer pass would give the defense time to close out.

Is it possible to use the legends in regular game modes?

My wife and I played this for a while last night before BF3.. What a sweet game!

You can play the legendary teams in season/franchise mode. There's an option to replace current teams with legend teams once you start a franchise.

The game can be made easy to play with sliders for all ages and genders.

turned it on today and CP3 is already on the Clips. 2k is so good in updating rosters.

Can anyone tell me if the controls have been simplified at all since 2k10 (last one I played)? I really hated having to hold down a trigger, press a button, and move the stick all just to do certain moves. It was like playing a fighting game.

Also, can you do touch passes? I loved being able to pass quickly like that in ID2004. Live never seemed to handle this, but I can't recall if this was possible in 2k.

Controls are actually more complicated now. So stay away if you can't hang with 2k10 even. They've added quite a bit. And no, touch passes don't exist either. That's one of my major complaints with the game...just takes a little too long for a few of the animations.

that was my comment after playing the demo and has been the bane of this series forever...you get stuck in an animation and cant get out!

got the PC version for 9.99 and it is well worth it.
The presentation is among the best I have ever seen
in a video sports game. The play by play, crowd and
overall ambience of the game makes you feel like you are
in the arena.

I don't know what I am missing by not having the 360
version, but for 9.99 you can't go wrong.

this might be old news but no 66 game schedule in the next patch, but NBA TODAY will have the 66 game schedule when the real season starts.

I just started MY PLAYER and it's amazing. Kicks the MY PLAYER from MLB 2K.

You get to get interviewed by teams and get drafted with David Stern and a whole telecast. really cool. I wonder what else is next!

Gonna go the NBA Today route. That way I can pick and choose which teams I want to play with on any given night. Some match ups obviously are a lot better than others. I don't think I'd be
able to play a full season with just one team anyway.

Been playing NBA TODAY , it's been updated for the XMAS day games plus the XMAS uniforms like real life.

My Player keeps amazing me. I got drafted by the Suns but got traded away to the Hornets. That's fine with me, more playing time. Anyway, Nash would never pass me the damn ball on the Suns. :)

Just picked this one up today. Haven't played an NBA game in years, because I really have little use for the modern day NBA; however, the legends stuff is just awesome. I'm getting my ass handed to me now, though...lol. Gonna take some time to catch on to the nuances in the controls, I think. But I absolutely love the presentation. I'll never play a season with any of these teams, because, to be honest, I don't have any idea who most of these players are. Sure do miss my NCAA 2K series, but the legends will keep me occupied for a good while...

Is there a gene in Alabamians that makes them allergic to professional sports? :)

Well the lack of professional occupations in the south probably has something to do with it.

When the thugs replaced the legends, I checked out. I have zero interest in the NBA as it currently exists. My enthusiasm left when Bird, Jordan, Magic, Kareem, and The Glide left. My interest in the NFL is coming back a bit, but I still have no loyalty to any team in particular. Hockey should be self explanatory... :D

LOL, there is a pile of cocaine and a stack of paternity suits that would like to discuss how the 70s and 80s NBA players were more refined than today's thugs. :D

I am sorry to hear they couldn't patch the schedule, that's the one thing holding me back on this one. What are the season length options?

I love these NBA's Greatest challenges but damn are they hard. I've only cleared the first Bulls one. They way they desaturate the image to make it look era appropriate is pretty brilliant though.

I'm curious, why the need to patch the schedule in season mode? Why not sim to today's date and roll from there? Sure, it might not match the real NBA schedule, but that's what NBA today is for.

Just would like to play the Bulls actual schedule. I like the Association mode and that's what I have always played in NBA 2k. I also like to play each game and not sim. I pretty much play all my sports games that way.

I simply just opted for the 58 game schedule (or whatever the number was). No big deal if it's not completely accurate...though it would have been nice.
