One of these things have to go. The defense has been better than last year and probably any time during the Shanahan era.

But John Fox is too conservative for the type of offense Tebow would need to succeed. Ever since Tebow took over, the commentators on Fox, CBS and radio keep asking the question why don't they try to build Tebow's confidence by having more short passes. Yet time after time, the play call is either a run, a 15+ pass, or a bomb. Anyone watching the game knew it was one of these three passes. No screens, few play actions, no shovel passes. No creativity.

Fox and the OC is more conservative the Reeves was. A young aggressive OC is what the Broncos need. Sadly, it's not Foxes style. I think Fox will sink Tebow's career not Tebow not improving beyond this year.
It's the same mistake the Dolphins made with Chad Henne. The Henne that played an awesome game vs the Jets after he replaced Pennington was the QB Chad was capable of becoming. Instead the Dolphins coaching staffs bunghole puckered up and they put a short leash on the guy where all he would do was check downs.

I agree with you that the Broncos should build their system around the guy but they won't cause Elway knows better and he wants him to fail no matter what he says to the press. To me Tim Tebow is 100% wildcat offense when he's in the game which is why I wished the Dolphins had taken him.

Tebow just knows how to lose games. And he'll lose again next weekend.

The Broncos will draft or acquire a real QB and this whole "experiment" of a TE/RB playing QB will be over and we'll move on. Straight up fluke for 5-6 weeks and now teams have figured him out. He's not a QB, he's not really even a good NFL player. I can throw an end over end football for craps sake. Thankfully the hype has gone down so I can stop hearing about him.

And Rod...you're insane. The wildcat, like Tim Tebow had a shelf life. It's a fluke offense that worked for a year and that's it. Now every team has a play or two in the playbook but that's it. Thank god that's gone as well, cuz obviously you can't win a SB with a fluke offense. You need weapons and a QB that can actually throw the ball.

Everybody wants Fisher now that Cowher and Chucky made it clear they're not leaving the TV booth. For the Dolphins i'd definitely consider Todd Bowles and even Romeo Crennel but I think he's getting the gig in KC.

Co Signed. I like Tebow but he simply will not win you a Super Bowl. It's a nice story but he can't be a QB in the NFL. Make him a FB or something. I pity Denver because when they do make the ultimate decision to go another way at QB (which is absolutely the right move) the "Tebowers" will go nuts. It's a lose lose situation

The best thing about the first week of the playoffs will be a Denver defeat. I'm so sick of hearing about how Tebow is a talented NFL QB.

DB nailed it: It doesn't take long for those without elite ability to be exposed in the NFL. And Tim Tebow is being exposed like an old roll of film left in the desert sun for days.

No question Tebow is a nice kid. No question he seems to be a good teammate. But he won't start at quarterback for an NFL team in 2013.

I don't pity Denver, they caved to the fans and we all know fans aren't going to admit when they are wrong. The coaching staff, the front office I'd be surprised if the players are feeling good about them. Did you see player comments after the KC game? I would say the Defense isn't so happy with what is happening. What free agent wideout is going to want to come to Denver?

I wouldn't be shocked if Denver beat Pittsburgh at home but they are not going farther then that. A playoff win would set the franchise back even further IMO because it will be even harder for them to go back on the Tebow thing now. A humiliating loss and the 4th loss in a row (would be 5th if Marion Barber could stay inbounds) would make it a lot easier to pull the plug next year.

An Rod I am sorry your argument doesn't make sense. Go look at the play breakdown for the games he has started.

Kc - 9 attempts WIN
Jets - 21 attempts WIN
S.D. - 18 attempts WIN
Min. 15 Attempts WIN
Bears 40 Attempts WIN (I think we can all agree the Bears lost that game but believe what you want)
NE - 23 Attempts LOSS
Bills - 29 Attempts LOSS 3 INT's
KC 22 Attempts LOSS he completed 6 PASSES...SIX!!!

Fox followed the formula that won him 5 straight and he lost. They threw it as often as they have been and the fact is Tebow had open guys he failed to pull the trigger or missed them.

What is the deal with those guys?

The longer they're away from the game, the less likely they're going to get the perfect situation/pay day.

Supposedly Cowher coveted the Giants job but the Giants are capable of making a run like they did a few years back. But if Tomlin wins another SB, then the shine wears off a bit on Cowher's resume, as it would suggest the organization can win with any coach.

They can't be making more money on TV than they'd be making as a HC these days, can they?

Lets assume not, but lets also assume it is not considerably less at least in the case of these two guys. Now consider the hours they need to put in as a coach vs TV analyst. You either want to coach or you don't. Money while nice, is not the deciding factor in being a coach at any level it's a love of the game. I'm sure those 2 are not worrying about money with their current gigs and probably putting in about 30 hours less a week. Sleeping in 5 star hotels, eating great meals vs sleeping on the couch in your office and eating take out.

It's a less stressful lifestyle (though they probably have to travel more than they would as a coach) but at least in the case of Gruden, who's suppose to be such a football junkie, can it be as satisfying being on the sidelines instead of being in the middle of the action?

Maybe they want the absolute best situation to land on their lap. Rams may not be a bad job, with a franchise QB and a high draft pick coming up, with players due back from injury. But Jeff Fisher may have first dibs on jobs this year.

It may be that teams are overlooking these guys, as seemed to be the case when the 49ers and Dolphins went after Harbaugh rather than these two Superbowl coaches last year.

I don't get it ether tbh. I admit Cowher left under his own terms, the others were fired. As much love as teams have for Gru, they need to face the facts that he's what caused the demise of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He inherited a SB quality team from Tony Dungy and to his credit he won the SB the following year. After that his personnel decisions were abysmal.

What Fisher has going for him is one trip to the SB but most of his years were solid as a HC. I think most are of the understanding that the recent issues with the Tennessee Titans was due to the owner insisting they pick Vince Young and the team went in that direction.

But know could have predicted the impact this year of Jim Harbaugh and Cam Newton. We'll see what happens next year to both but each had an awesome season. The track record on HC's coming out of college into the pros and being successful is pretty low.

Dan all i'm trying to say is let the guy be himself. Let him play the game the way he's used to. If he sucks replace him. He he wins keep him and build the system around that. I don't understand HC's sometimes. They did the same thing to Chad Henne. When he first started for the Dolphins he showed a lot of potential then the Dolphins brass tried to change the way he did things. After the changes Chad Henne went fast downhill as a starter.

IIRC didn't they try that with Jay Cutler and finally let him play the game the way he's used too? I'm under no illusion that Tebow is the next Elway, Peyton, Marino, or Aikman but if I were the Broncos i'd let the guy do his thing and build the play calling around it. If at that point he can't handle it then fine yank him.

Considering the retreads that get hired in the NFL every year, I have to think Gruden would have a job if he wanted it. Both he and Cowher have rings, and more likely than not would only damage their legacies by coming back. The money may be great but it is a brutal job in terms of time, pressure, and hassle. Given a choice between that and getting paid a lot of money to guffaw with Jaws 16 weeks out of the year, it doesn't surprise me the booth or studio look more appealing.

They make less as broadcasters, but their "per hour" is much higher. Coaches put in a ridiculous amount of time year round.
