Infinity Blade is half off at $2.99. I bought it and liked it quite a bit. Graphics is stunning on 4s.

Seeing the graphics and 16 cars on track was pretty shocking for an iOS game. The control felt really good too. I had auto-braking and auto-accel on, but the gameplay was surprisingly satisfying. Take a bad line and the game will slow you down, but you'll be dead in the water and get passed by a bunch of cars.
Spot on - I was super-impressed by the quality and feature-set of RR2 and for only $4.99 as well!

Long-term, I don't know how the 3DS and Vita can compete when games like this are less than 1/5 the price (EDIT: topic for a different thread, I know).
You have to consider that by the time the retailer and the wholesaler gets their cuts and the licensing fee is paid, the develop/publisher may only be getting a fraction of the sales prices anyways.

It's just that with mobile devices, you're getting a digital format which doesn't go through all these middlemen, not to mention not having any manufacturing or distribution costs. So they're priced realistically, whereas Sony and the like will sell you digital versions but try to maintain the retail pricing because they can't upset their current revenues.

I will try it on AppleTV tonight or tomorrow.
I did finally try this on the big screen. Using the AppleTV was not good. Low image quality and a slight lag. With an HDMI cable, aside from the obvious drawback of being tethered to the TV, worked very well. The graphics however don't look quite as impressive on the big screen, as the shortcomings are more apparent on a bigger screen.

No way I can resist trying that.

Also, Zombie Gunship is currently free. No reason not to download this fun game.

The onLive app has been released for Android and on the way for iOS. Might have to try this. Reading some comments, they say IF you have a healthy wifi connection is works pretty remarkably, but will fall apart rapidly as your wifi does.

As far as I can gather, it's a free app, though for most games you will need to buy the upcoming bluetooth controller for $50. Some games will have touchscreen controls added for use on a tablet.

I think once you download the app you'll instantly have access to LEGO Batman to try out for free. After that you have to subscribe, buy or rent further titles.

I plan on picking that up soon.

Also I bought Mini Motor Racing this week and it's a lot of fun. $2/$4 for iPhone/iPad. Very Super Off-Road-esque.

GTA 3 is pretty sweet on Android, so I'm sure it's even better on the iOS...definitely worth the 5 bucks (or however much it is in iOS).

MIni Motor Racing reminds me a lot of Death Rally minus the cops.

That looks like a freemium game. You sure it's not always free?

I see the HD version which lists a bunch of in-app purchases.

You can buy stars which allows you access to buy better cars faster, but no real need for it.

It really is a great racing game.

Was excited to see that there's a free Sims 3 download for the iPad. Very cool.

Also downloaded Bejeweled that's now designed for the iPad. Before, they only had a iTouch version. Game is highly addictive
and can't believe some of the high scores.

Downloaded free Monopoly, but have yet to play it.

I also saw a retro Sonic the Hedgehog game for $1.99 that has gotten great reviews.

Sooooo many games that seem to come out daily.

Monopoly would be good with online play over the Internet, the way Scrabble works.

It wouldn't hurt to try, but I'd be afraid that games would take forever to complete.

True, Scrabble lets you set 24, 48 or 72-hour turns.

They should be able to do 4 or 8 hour turns with auto drops for those who miss their turns 3 times.

But I think the only reason Scrabble is online is because it uses Facebook's logins.

Um, what? What are you talking about? Words with Friends, Scrabble and Word Feud all have their own infrastructure...it's just that you can play WWF against Facebook users if you'd like.

Monopoly would be downright painful online. In person, the games take hours. No way I'd even attempt online.

Scrabble for iOS started out just with FB logins. Then they added EA/Origin logins. It keeps your record under both logins. I used to play Scrabble games on FB and then continue them on iPhone.

Yeah I thought 3 or 4-player Scrabble would be better than 2-player WWF but there are people who just let 24 hours run out on their turn, holding everyone else up. Even 2-player games do take days. But you can have multiple games going so eventually you finish several of them at a time.

They'd have to put in things like the ability to boot people or at least automatically kick people who are dormant. You think of online interfaces, over a decade ago, the Zone let you do exactly that, let the host have access to all kinds of settings and boot people who you didn't want.

Even consoles, at least things like Team Play games of FIFA on the PS3, doesn't give you control over who can play or not.
