This could be curtains for Prongs' career. He's 37, with a severe head injury in hockey terms and also had knee surgery earlier this year.

I'm trying to remember the last guy ruled out of a season this early with a head injury. Marc Savard? That didn't end well.

You could well be right, but Pronger is as competitive as they come and can still play. My bet is that he'll at least give it a shot come next season if his head feels ok.

Sounds a lot like what Keith Primeau went thru. It ended his career and he STILL has symptoms. Sucks.

It's weird that eye was actually fine, but now he has issues similar to what Patrice Bergeron went thru after going head first into the boards. No one that I saw even mentioned the possibility of concussion in the aftermath of Pronger taking the stick to his eye.

I don't care where a particular team is in the standings. There's a lot of parity in this league and if you have a night off, wins just don't come easily. Dont tell VAN that though. Just look at how the Canucks must have looked down at their opponents so far this week as they continue with their long road trip. A loss to the Jackets on Tuesday and a loss to the Canes Thursday is not what you would call a serious top team. They just love playing down to their opponents' importance and that just drives me nuts. They haven't shown up so far this week as they wind up their long winding road against the Leafs this weekend.

Between the back, knee, foot, hand, eye, and now concussion, Pronger hasn't been able to play more than a few weeks at a time since last New Year's. Things are not looking good for the big fella.

Time for the Flyers to use his cap space and get another defensemen for the rest of the season, then see where Pronger is in the offseason.

GREAT column by the esteemed Ken Dryden about the NHL's problem with head injuries:

PK.. Great read indeed. I love this line at the end of the article.

We look back on those people 50 years ago who defended tobacco and asbestos and think, How could they be so stupid? Bettman and the NHL cannot wait for this generation of players to get old just so they can know for sure.

It's a shame the smartest, most rational man in hockey, Dryden, no longer works in the sport.

Mike Milbury charged for allegedly assaulting a peewee hockey kid. According to his lawyer, no attack occurred as he was just trying to settle both parties involved. interesting what he'll say tomorrow in HNIC.

Not one single strand of my DNA would be surprised if Milbury did this. The guy is a complete meathead. I can see him being the prototypical asshole hockey dad.

You guys know I live and breath my B's, but this is indefenseable. Millbury has never been a favorite of mine and any adult laying hands on a child is flat out abuse. Not to mention it appears that his kid was the one initiating much of the action with his mouth.

Lets not talk about that. I am sure the HBO people will make a big deal about it on 24/7 this Wednesday.

Man, Claude Girioux is so good. 4 points so far tonight. Goal and 3 assists. Nice comeback after missing 4 games with the concussion. Love watching Jagr and him work together.

I was a bit concerned as to how the 'Nuckers would play this week at home after two long weeks on the road where they didn't do too bad but at the same time it would have been so much better if they haven't lost to bottom feeders in CBJ & CAR last week.

Not only they had just one day to get back to their time zone but on Monday they had a tough task in playing against the pesky Wild and last night vs DET who's red hot. Usually the first game back home is always the toughest after a long time on the road but with a hot Luongo they beat the Wild 4-0 Monday while clipping the Wings 4-2 yesterday with another superb performance by the Sedin's line along with A. Burrows who had some highlight reel goals the past 3 games and is clicking on all cylinders with the Twins lately.

They're just a point away from catching up the Wild after starting so poorly this season. Keep it up boys.

After such a wonderful hot tempo game between the Wings & Canucks on Wednesday, my buddy and I decided to shell out some high bucks for a VAN team that's been great to watch the past couple of weeks, only to come out empty handed as the home team played a stinker in front of yet another sellout at Rogers arena.

Flames kept 'Nucks outside the perimeter, their rookie goalie earned a well deserved 1st NHL win, and overall it was just the complete opposite high quality game that was played against DET a couple of days ago as CAL was content to just clog up the neutral zone and bored me to death. Canucks were just plain flat tonight and handed the visitors the win in a silver platter.

This is one of the better goals that I watched his season as the Bruins crushed the Panthers.

Hawks better stick to Hockey.
