Re: OT: WebOS Tablet Thread
Although now I'm anxious to see the ICS port in a few months, apparently alpha 3 of cyanogenmod for Touchpad was just released.
http://www.tabletsupportforum.com/forum ... 3-Released
The fixes in ALPHA3
* Last prominent form of "sleep of death" fixed I think this is what caused my previous brick scare--after sitting unused for a few days, I came back and the unit was completely locked
* Webkit backing store(smoother scrolling)
* Bluetooth DPad/arrows do not rotate with screen
* Battery stats now available to Android
* Serial# now populated
* Shorter hostname as a result of serial#
* General wifi fixes
* Preliminary Touchpad 4G support(no radio)
* Possible fix for A2DP and wifi interference
* Possible fix for SD card not mounting
* Camera FPS improved but still nearly nonfunctional

Yes, you need to install the Google market apk.JackB1 wrote:so you can get Android apps installed?jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Me.

You can d/l a GPS app but since the Touchpad had no GPS chip then there's really no use for it.
Re: OT: WebOS Tablet Thread
HP just made WebOS open source. Not sure what that will practically result in.

Basically means that HP washes their hands of it...and says "you do it, but we'll make sure you don't F it up." LOL...interesting.Naples39 wrote:HP just made WebOS open source. Not sure what that will practically result in.

Re: OT: WebOS Tablet Thread
Meh....
News of ICS (or at least Honeycomb) builds for the Touchpad would be way more exciting than this.
Maybe this would help accelerate the process?

I'm expecting something next month. Was just poking around the cyanogenmod forums and apparently there's an ICS theme/GUI you can install though. Might try that.jLp vAkEr0 wrote:Meh....

Re: OT: WebOS Tablet Thread
For TP owners, Cyanogenmod9 for TP (Android 4.0) is up to alpha 2, adding hardware video and netflix support.
I've been using CM9 for a few weeks and I am very satisfied.

You will be satisfied. Once you get it up and going it's very nice, and applying newer alphas is super simple.RobVarak wrote:Taking the plunge today. Fingers crossed.Naples39 wrote:For TP owners, Cyanogenmod9 for TP (Android 4.0) is up to alpha 2, adding hardware video and netflix support.

Re: OT: WebOS Tablet Thread
I use my androided tp only for netflix. I was getting a bunch of freezing during movies, but actually there was a netflix update recently and now I'm running flawlessly with the original android alpha port.

Except for a brief mess when I didn't realize I was following the directions for an old build of Acme Installer, it was a piece of cake. Pretty painless.

Wow haven't turned this thing on in forever. I was greeted with a WebOS update but they have a very cool App. It's called HP Information Security Pulse which is like a command center for viruses that are launched around the world and the threats they pose. It even breaks it down by country and continent and the time it was posted.

Re: OT: WebOS Tablet Thread
Interesting to note with regards to WebOS...the entire team that created it is now moving over to Google. So any big fans of WebOS...you know where to look in the future.
