It's basically a brawler w a little bit of stealth mixed in.

All I'm doing now is trying to locate all of the riddler trophies and other extras, some of which is really challenging and requires some thinking.

It's rewarding to see a trophy and think "I'm never going to figure that out" only to acquire some new gadget or figure out some new move, and then complete it.

I'm having nearly as much fun with this than the regular story mode, which is really unusual for me.

I don't know why a demo for Arkham City suddenly dropped on XBL months after the game was released, but I gave it a go last night because this game intrigued me when it first hit the market.

Holy sh*t -- now I know why Arkham City made so many Best Games of 2011 lists. What an emerging, engrossing, fun game. Pulls you right into the world of Gotham City with fantastic graphics, atmospheric audio and intuitive, fun gameplay.

I need to find a deal on this game. Yeah, I know: I'm late to the party. Welcome to 2011, Paul.

I really enjoyed Arkham Asylum, but I've been holding off on this one.

They just released the Game-of-the-year edition, which includes all kind of DLC too.

The Game of the Year Edition includes Harley Quinn's Revenge. Now more dangerous than ever and leading a homicidal gang of her own, she is hell-bent on taking revenge against the Dark Knight.

Unless you can find a really cheap deal on the original version, you probably want to go with the GOTY edition for $50. I might do the same.

Eh, I'd just go with a cheap copy of the original one. So much of that DLC is for the out-of-story challenge maps, and in no way will you feel like you missed out on anything with the "basic" experience. It's a great game.

I admit to being really into the alternate skins however. For a little while.

I almost never get Game of the Year editions with extra content because I rarely have the time to finish original retail games, let alone extended versions.

I know some complain that the combat is button mashy, but after completing the game on the hardest difficulty, I found there is a unique flow and technique to it that I think is brilliant and extremely well done.

On top of that its Batman done right with a solid story and the best atmosphere of any game I can remember. One of those games you can just lose yourself in. Awesome game.

I finally started playing this one last night after getting the GOTY edition on sale for the absurdly low price of $7.50.

Wow, what have I been waiting for? I loved hunting down all the riddler puzzles and extras in Arkham Asylum, and I can see myself spending A LOT of time in this one doing the same. I'm still fighting the controls a little bit now though.

I'm now thinking about picking up Arkham Asylum which I see has a GOTY version with 3D glasses for $20 retail. Is Asylum as good as City ? or better? and the 3d thing seems sort of cool.

That's hard to say. In the end, I much preferred Asylum over City. But there are definitely aspects that City refined and improved upon. Asylum is much more linear with far fewer side quests. I felt like I got lost from the story in City, while the story is front and center in Asylum.

What I don't know is if going from City to Asylum will hold up as well. Asylum introduced the combat and investigative mechanics, and its linear path might feel more like a tutorial for City. Regardless, if you enjoy the combat and story of City, Asylum will feel like more of the same in a very good way.

It's well worth playing, and many people will say it is better. It just may not feel like that going backwards.
