This makes me laugh. Tebow is a hero and John Fox a genius for using him within a great system that allows them to win games. Yet Brady and the Patriots to the EXACT same thing, with modest weapons at best, and it gets labeled as nauseating.Brando70 wrote:Things seem to be aligning for another nauseating Patriots run.

That's not what I meant. It's just that a lot of non-Beantown fans are tired of seeing them every year. A great franchise, no doubt, but it's shaping up for another postseason of Brady getting a color-analysis tongue bath, The BELICHICK 2000 standing on the sideline in his hoodie, and most importantly, dealing with the most obnoxious fans in all of sports. They are the new Dallas Cowboys.RallyMonkey wrote:This makes me laugh. Tebow is a hero and John Fox a genius for using him within a great system that allows them to win games. Tebow-ball will be figured out soon enough, the way all gimmick offensive developments eventually get figured out in the NFL. But like Dan said, if Denver's defense continues to play well, that will keep them in games.

I wouldn't worry too much about the Patriots. I am a fan but they haven't even won a playoff game in 3 years. Their defense is not only the worst in the NFL, it is the worst since like records are kept. Although they have played a little better the past 2 weeks, I still don't believe this defense can stop ANY playoff team, especially in the playoffs.Brando70 wrote:That's not what I meant. Brady deserves all the credit because if it wasn't for him, we would be as bad as any of the bottom tier teams. However, Brady can be stopped as the Jets (last year's playoff game), Steelers and Ravens have all shown how to do it. If Brady have a bad game, it is 1 and done in the playoffs just like the past 2 years.

NOW the Dolphins show up to play ball. Why couldn't they do this at the start of the season?

As I told pk after the bills started well...they were a fluke. They are not good so Miami taking it to em in the first half isn't that much of a shock.Rodster wrote:NOW the Dolphins show up to play ball. Why couldn't they do this at the start of the season?
Then again the dolphins like to give leads away too so its still early of course.

Fitzpatrick has zero chance if his receivers keep dropping balls and popping them up into the air and getting picked...never seen so many drops in a half of football. Think I counted 5.

I wonder when the last time the dolphins actually blocked a punt...I have watched every game in the past 8 or 9 years and I can't remember the last time. I must be blocking it out.

Odrick's Pee Wee dance is the best sack dance in football. Especially since everyone hates it. Love how the announcers were talking about how bad it was and then next play...Odrick sack...Pee Wee dance. Beautiful.

I've got my answer for the last time the Dolphins blocked a punt for a TD. 1990. Yeah, 21 years ago and 339 games. Sounds about right.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Rams wiped out 24-7 at home by a not very good Seahawk team....tsk tsk tsk. I already miss you spags.
Was looking for a nice pic to express how my NFL sunday was...The web never fails.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
After a big win at home vs the Ravens last week I expected the Hawks to fall simply flat against the Rams in their own turf. Just the typical mental breakdown after a win against a good team but they proved me wrong. They shut down S. Jackson and the secondary was strong too. Strong again was Marshall Lynch, despite injuries to the OL, just give him the damn football and let him do his thing.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The Rams have a defense, but I'm not really sure what's going on with that offense?
Jackson can't even get out of the backfield, we really need to draft some OL this offseason!

Brett Favre , Chicago Bear?
Doesn't big ben have a broken thumb this year and he's still playing?

Not all thumb injuries are created equal.Lancer wrote:Brett Favre , Chicago Bear?

It's a tough blow, but I think the Bears can win with Caleb Hanie as long as they run the ball and play good defense. Next week's game at Oakland will be tough, but I think they still can beat the Broncos, Chefs, and Seahawks in that stretch. The Packers may be resting players by week 16 when the Bears visit Lambeau, and they close at the Vikings. I think 4-2 is achievable, and even 3-3 may still get them in the playoffs.

Favre would've been a better fit for Houston. Near his home, etc. Houston will nose-dive with Mark Sanchez's identical twin at QB
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I loved Maurice Jones-Drew's impression of LeBron yesterday. Not the one in the second quarter where he did the chalk toss in front of the Dawg Pound. I'm talking about the one in the fourth quarter when it was crunch time, the game was on the line, he couldn't score and they lost the game. That was spot-on!

Disagree 100% and we'll see if Houston nosedives because they have a great running game and defense this year so far....vinny-b wrote:Lancer wrote:Brett Favre , Chicago Bear?

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Don't know if the Dolphins will run the table and finish 9-7, really doubt it. Andrew Luck is definitely out of the picture and i'm glad as he could be the next Peyton Manning or Ryan Leaf, too much hype and more importantly, sky-high expectations. The one game I saw vs Oregon and Stanford I wasn't floored. DB said that was just one game.
So what other franchise QB's are in this years draft the Dolphins could go after? What other teams have needs for a franchise QB other than Indy and Miami? From what I heard on the SNF game is that Indy is in really bad shape because no one wants to pay Manning's salary if they get Luck. So now they potentially have two franchise QB's on the payroll unless they absorb Manning's salary and release or trade him.
edit: I forgot to mention that the USC QB Matt Barkley looks intriguing and would probably be taken after Luck.

Favre isn't a good fit anywhere anymore. There's a reason he's retired.
