I was away on a cruise so I have a bunch of stuff taped and trying to determine if it is worth watching.

I think that is about it for new shows so far. I want to watch that fairytale show when it starts.

Am I missing any good new shows. I don't have HBO or Showtime etc so I can't watch that stuff.

Isn't the quality crap off of that? Hell I would pay a dollar to watch a show off of itunes if they would put them up there.

SHowtime sells on iTunes I believe. But you end up paying what you'd pay to subscribe to Showtime for that one show.

HBO looks like they want to maintain those subscriber numbers at all costs so it doesn't sell to iTunes and it offers you HBO Go so you'll keep subscribing.

DVDs, especially on sale, may end up cheaper but it's a year behind.

Not if you have an HD or DVD rip. Would look great on a PC or tablet. Might not be satellite-quality crispness on a 50-inch TV, but some are damn close.

Not that I would know any specifics about that.

Anyone else watch the premiere of "American Horror Story" last night on FX? All i can say right now is…WTF?! Some weird s*** but it's certainly got me interested enough to watch next week.

Watched it over the weekend. One of the most f***ed-up hours of non-subscription TV I've ever seen (I mean that as a compliment). It's like someone made a TV series out of Kubrick's "The Shining" except they skipped the buildup and went straight to Room 237. I'll be curious to see how they maintain it over the course of a season.

Saw both episodes of American Horror and sort of figured it out I think. I won't spoil it but there are some twists in episode two.

BTW I heard that the upcoming XB360 Dashboard will have HBO GO on it? is that true? That would be great.

You're missing a thrilling psychological crime drama every week if you're not watching "Luther" on BBC America. Idris Elba plays John Luther, the lead character. Fans of the legendary "The Wire" on HBO -- like me -- will recognize Elba: He played Stringer Bell in "The Wire."

But if you find the first episode or two outside of your comfort zone, it only gets worse. This is a show that definitely enjoys punching you in the gut.

I go to a local bar every Wednesday night to meet buddies for a couple of PBR drafts, a double Laphroaig, conversation and to watch sports on TV. When I walked in last Wednesday night, nearly the entire bar was transfixed and freaked out watching this show. Young and old.

The main attraction for me was Connie Britton, who played Tami Taylor on "Friday Night Lights." The uber-MILF of prime-time TV.

Seriously, though, this show must have something good going for it. I can't remember the last time I walked into my local and saw a non-sporting event capturing everyone's attention. It was like the "watching the soap opera in the bar scene" in "Slap Shot."

I DVR it just to check it out and I thought it was really good. The fact it is on NBC scares me they f*** up everything but it sure had some good suspensful moments.

My local keeps it in stock just for me. Seriously. I'm the only one who ever drinks it, but since I'm a Wednesday night regular, they take care of me. Cold PBR draft poured for me between the time I walk through the door and I first belly up to the bar, Laphroaig in stock for later.

Can't beat it.

The last 2 American Horror ep's have been fantastic. It sort of started out a bit weak but it's really come on strong now.

One show I've completely lost interest in is The Walking Dead. I don't care for any of the characters and it seems the just is just meandering with no direction. It's almost like they were surprised it was a hit last season and now with more demand from the fans they've sort of run out of ideas. Maybe it'll get better.

I started watching Homeland too from a friend who recommended it to me and it's also very good the last 2-3 episodes or so. So my Sunday nights are set for a while with Boardwalk Empire followed by Homeland and then finished off with a new episode of Jerseylicious. Yes, you read that right,I like that show

I've only seen the first two eps of American Horror Story but I am pretty pulled in. It's like nothing else I've ever seen on TV. The only downside so far is it is so relentlessly dark that I'm not sure that I *like* watching it. I'm incredibly curious but it just doesn't let up at all during each episode.

I've also seen the first two eps of Homeland and it was worth getting Showtime for. Incredible set-up and performances. Where 24 had a lot of super-annoying TV cliches even in the good seasons, this is much more intense and the morality much more blurred. The tone reminds me a bit of the first couple of seasons of Battlestar Galactica, where characters face moral quandaries and often react in non-TV fashion.

Terra Nova is coming dangerously close to being cut from my DVR. Really liked the pilot a lot but the next couple of episodes where rehashed problem-of-the-week crap that were the bread-and-butter of the galactically overrated Star Trek shows. The next episode that went back to main storyline was better, but if the show I just recorded is another distraction from the main plot, I'm probably giving it the axe.

Yeah I have 2 Terra Nova's sitting there waiting to be watched.

Again I highly recommend watching the Grimm pilot online this show is not at all what I was expecting. Very dark and suspenseful, I'm leary because NBC coul;d f*** up a wet dream but it was really good.
