HUT online playoffs this weekend. Placed me in the Elite division and by some miracle I won. You need to win 4 games in a row. A whopping 15,000 puck reward. I have so much money I don't know what to do with myself on the market!! I guess I'll build some team chemistry and pick up some Flyers.

I've played 2 games since and both times there's a pre-game cut scene of my team raising a banner, and there's new graphics on the ice by the blue line that says elite division champs. Kinda neat.

Whats the deal with penalties? I have played 8 games of HUT and have yet to go on a single PP. Is it it just a fluke streak?

Offline I assume? I only play online and suffice to say most players are hackers.

Ya offline. Getting me legs. 12 games now and still 0 for 0 on the pp. :?

Addictive it is setting up a team. With this game, Madden, plus F1, Forza and Dark Souls coming soon I am seriously considering shelving my WoW account.
Temporarily that is. 8)

I just bought the game and only 1 game in I got to say I am not too impressed.

It seems like everything is slow. The menus are slow (and ugly) and the skating on the ice seems slow, like they are skating in mud. Last years game was much more fast paced and fluid.

HUT I will mess with later. I like how they gave you pucks and some free card packs to start out with. I got a Mario Gold card but it only has a 5 game contract. The game won't even let me sell it :(

That's odd, I think on AS defaults the game is very fast.

Everyone gets a legend card in their initial packs, but they only have a few games on them and you can't sell them.

The real legends cards have like 180 games on them.

Played some more and I think maybe I've played out this series.

I've been playing it since the 08 version and the only thing I played last year was HUT and Online.

Season last year and some of the other modes were the same as the previous years so I didnt bother trying them.

Now HUT is giving me a been there done that feeling too. I've averaged 200 online games per year in this series so that's sort of a tired thing for me too. Just wish they would have come out with some newer game modes, I wouldve have even liked something like a Madden Moments Live thing for NHL.

I'll shelve this one once the NHL season has started, maybe then I'll get back in the mood for NHL 12.

I haven't played much of NHL 12 yet, mostly because there are so many freaking excellent games right now and hockey isn't in full swing yet.

Just realized Dish has the NHL Network!

I just got F'd by Ea.

I was in an offline tourney in HUT final game, then it says I lost connection to the EA servers, booted me out, and now I lost the tourney by default.

This game is quickly moving to the DEAL ALERT thread for me.

Sell it. You won't have problems finding a buyer.

So I tried to do the tourney again and got the same EA Server disconnected twice.

So is this a common problem with this game online?

If so HUT is unplayable then. I lose puck points and get knocked out of the tourneys.

I've had 1 disconnect in ~100 games.

They basically to set it up where a disconnect equals victory/elimination from online tournaments because of rampant quitting when behind would prevent straight up players from advancing in tournaments.

ya but i'm having these in offline HUT tourneys, not online. i guess the connection has to stay online for the info to get back to EA and then reward you pucks , just like last year. This year it's not working for me. My connection is fine to XBL, my other EA games stay connected on their servers, really annoying and wants me to just get rid of the game.

EA has this game tuned really well now. I cannot say enough good things about the board play and continue to be amazed at how good it is. Going in and pinning guys on the boards is now a significant part of my defensive strategy, especially since boarding is called so much on checks near the boards. The variety in goals is also better than ever. I am seeing some incredible goals that I did not see in past versions of NHL. I still have yet to see broken glass. I was afraid EA might overdo that feature of the game, but after a ton of games played I have not seen it a single time. I think I'm pretty well set for a while with NHL 12, PES 2012, and F1.

So I played with some real NHL teams and it played better. I see new tuner set came out today but have not tried it.

I see that this year in HUT they have cool specials and chances for free packs. I just got a free pack this evening.

Do they still have EA sponsored tourney's anymore in HUT? I'm not talking about the EA Tourney you have to qualify for, but the ones like last year where they had open weekly with another one previewed in the screen.

I was prompted for a patch and used the new tuner.. had my best game yet, beat Carolina 2-1. The game seems a tad slower on defaults, which is great.

The AI is v12 is so much better, I love how my power forwards fight for that space in front of the net.

I think I will be using the current tune file for my GM mode. It plays pretty much perfect for me. EA has somehow managed to create a great simulation of the sport that is also highly fun from the control/arcade standpoint. They totally have nailed things when it comes to simply playing regular matches against the CPU.

EA put up a Bronze Tourney up today for featured tourneys.

Right now you can get a jumbo pack (22 cards - 4 rares) for 2500 bucks, regular price is 7500, not sure when this deal runs out.

Started by Blues BAGM tonight, didn't play BAGM last year but I like the layout of the mode quite a bit, everything seems easy to get to.

Couple things for you vets, where do I find my players fatigue from game to game and how many players can be on my NHL and AHL teams?

I'm playing on AS defaults and we won our first preseason game 3-1 over Columbus. I can't say enough about how great this latest tuner is and how nice it is to see the CPU players play so much better this year.

I think I'll probably play every single game.

Total shots were 22 a side, first game I've ever had the shot totals equal eachother.

(as far as sports gaming goes, with NCAA 12, NBA 2k12 and NHL 12, it's been a great year for sports games)
