Bill Cowher better keep his cell phone on...same with Andrew Luck. The Dolphins will be calling soon.
Henne sucks...I don't see how you cannot be down on him yet Rod. You are blinding by raw statistics obviously...when it counts and he needs to be clutch, he sucks. The Dolphins trail in nearly every game, yet they never come back. Why is that? They have three above average or fantastic receivers...they don't have an accurate enough QB to get them the ball consistently to be playmakers. THAT is the problem. Yes, they get the catches a lot of the time, but not in a position to make plays after the catch. There's a reason that Marshall's numbers are down in terms of YAC. He's having to adjust for poorly thrown balls. The QB position is more than just yardage and completion percentage.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I totally agree, but I think it would take a really appalling season for those kinds of changes to happen, especially getting rid of Angelo. I don't see that happening this year -- the season has the workings of some meh 7-9 performance that leads to a few changes without addressing the core issues.RobVarak wrote:At this point, it's clear that Angelo hasn't the foggiest idea of how to put an offensive football team together. Nobody starting on the OL or in the WR/TE corp would be anything but a tertiary player on a real team. Cutler and Forte are the only useful parts, and they're being stuck in a system that was discredited 10 years ago and which is useless without WR's who are smart enough to site-read and good enough to run precise patterns.
I'd actually probably keep Lovie, but s***-can Angelo and Martz right now. Bring in an OC who can build a system suited to Cutler's talents and a GM who doesn't think that all offensive linemen are created equal. If they don't, they're going to have to do it in a year or two, when the defense is even older and the Lions and Packers even better.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The reason i'm not down on Henne yet is because he's actually improved a lot over last year. I think the coaches got into his head and that's when he got too careful. I remember that win over the Jets on MNF a couple of years ago. The kids got talent and this year he's upped his game. I've seen receivers run routes and flat out drop the ball.dbdynsty25 wrote:Bill Cowher better keep his cell phone on...same with Andrew Luck. The Dolphins will be calling soon.

If you asked me last year I would have agreed with you but I felt all long it was the coaches that turned him into "Checkdown Henne".
I think it's all a moot point because it's obvious Stephen Ross has no clue on how to run an NFL team and will go with the glamor Head Coach, Cowher maybe Jeff Fisher. But again you start over from scratch as both will bring their GM etc.

To recap the Skins lambs game so far....
Sims-Walker...

Sam Bradford...

Rex Grossman...

Rams defense...

Still a half to play.........Lets Go Rams!!!
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Tony Romo is melting down in the 2nd half with 2 pick 6's. Good god why Joe "monotone" Buck on NFL Fox?
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
0-4
Credit to Grossman for making it a game in the fourth quarter but the Rams must refuse such generous gifts.
Besides the obvious inability to block, pass and catch, someone really needs to teach the lambs special teams guys the art of the fair catch. Really guys. That was about 40 yds of field position on consecutive punts.
Spags. Ummm....why the f*** did you call a time out on 4th and 30 with 4:45 to plat down by 7 ???? You had only one play and that was to punt. Aww f*** it. Whats the point? you will be nothing but a bad football memory come draft day. Go back to coordinating son.

Talk about shitting the bed. Unlike the Rams, the Lions accept gifts from dumb qbs. Wow!!! Down 24!?!?!?! Lions baby!Rodster wrote:Tony Romo is melting down in the 2nd half with 2 pick 6's.

Tony Romo should be taken out back and beaten with a loser stick. HE GAVE that win to the Lions, two pick six and a third INT late in the game.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
This part I don't understand, becaue on both occasions, your team was bailed out by 'defenseless receiver' personal foul calls agains the Punt defense team which not only gave your guys 15 yds from where the ball was fielded, but negated the fumbles that ensued from what used to be, for all of my life until today, legal hits on punt returners. Mike Nelms, who never called for a fair catch, must be wondering what has changed with the game he loves.XXXIV wrote:

I'm sorry, but to my mind, the ability to signal for fair catch, and the waiving of the right to invoke such rule, by definition makes the punt receiver not 'defenseless.'. Wtf? These calls were both of them pure bullshit, not acceptable, and either bad readings of the rule, or it's a bad rule. Either get rid of the fair catch or disallow the personal foul 'defenseless receiver' call on punt receptions.
I'm very glad we didn't completely s*** the bed because the Skins of old would have found a way to lose this game. It wasn't pretty but it counts, and with the Igles and Cowboys both losing, it makes this a very good day for Redskins fans.
Hail to the Redskins!!
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Props to the Redskins. Unlike the Boyz, the rest of your team did not follow the one guy down the toilet.Zeppo wrote:

Wow...directv gave us the first quarter and a half and then blacked us out. Guess we are no north enough for the blackout rules. Oh well. Don't care about being pissed off again tonight with another loss anyway. Terrible.

Glad I was at soccer all day... 0-4? UGH!!!

I've heard it's been three now. He's pissing me off. Not like it matters when the defensive backs are so bad.Rodster wrote:In case you weren't watching db. Marshall misses another catch he should have caught.
