Is there a trick to getting these things to sound better than my cheaper earbuds?

I consistently run my J3 at 32-35 depending on the earbuds/headphones. It's all about how sensitive the headphones are. Some just need more power. I wouldn't worry about cranking it...except for the impending hearing loss.Rodster wrote:Hmmm I don't know what happened but i'm not digging the NuForce Earbuds like when I first got them. They sound lower in volume to my cheaper earbuds and in order for them to give me a good bass kick with a good bass EQ preset I have to crank the volume between 32-34 on my J3.

That's worrying me lol. Sucks cause when they work they're flat out awesome. You got a link to the Cowon X10 cause it doesn't show up on Google?dbdynsty25 wrote:Sucks man...I've had about 5 different Cowon/iAudio players and have never had an issue. At some point you might need to accept that...maybe it's just you.
Maybe you should try the new X10 when it comes out. Looks pretty sweet too. Or the last model the iAudio 9.
I don't like that interface yuck. So far my J3 is not doing the same thing so I have a few days left before returning it. I hope it was just a glitch.dbdynsty25 wrote:Then get the C2.
Why on earth would you want to change? Flac sounds way better and you've got the perfect player to get the most out of your music.Rodster wrote:What do you guys use to convert FLAC to MP3? I was using a free program called "flac to mp3" and it only converts 50% of the file so it's useless.
