Wow, some steals there. I might have to go to Best Buy tomorrow and check out their inventory. Worst comes to worst, I'll pick up whatever I can and take them to EB for trade. EB has a deal til the end of the month where you get an extra $10 in trade for every 3 Xbox, PS2, or Gamecube games traded in with no exceptions. Could be very profitable. If you bring in 6 games you bought for 4.99 and received $8 for each one plus the extra $20 you can get $68 store credit for spending $30 at Best Buy.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.

I'd be surprised if you get $8 from EB for any of these titles. I'd expect more like $6 or $4 or even $2, depending. Worst case would be $2 apiece, for a trade-in value of $12, plus the $20 brings you to $32 for spending $30, minus the tax.

Wow. Thanks for the link, Brent!

Some smokin' deals in there, especially Aggro Inline, Amped, ESPN Football, Hitz Pro and Jet Set Radio Future for the Xbox.

There's a Best Buy about 10 minutes from the track. Might have to dart out for lunch today, as there's no track activity today ... :)

Thanks again,
PK

You're wrong, Zeppo.

I actually thought I'd try taking advantage of the EB deal, and some older ps2 titles were ringing up as $0.75, $1.00, etc..

So $2.00 is not the worst case.

Methinks the 'extra $10' is smoke and mirrors to get you into the store, with trade in values lowered.

Some good deals at Best Buy, though. Metal arms is a steal. Sleeper title, hard, and funny.

I just came back from the Best Buy in New Orleans and they knew nothing about the sale. One of the salesman did state I was the second person to ask and he inquired with the manager who did not know anything about it. Is this for real or just a rumor?

Hehe, nice thought in concept, Spooky, but I guarantee you that if Best Buy is selling it for $4.99, EB will probably only give you $2.00 or so trade in. They have gotten absolutely awful with all their exclusions and low ball trade ins. I was in EB yesterday and a guy brought in a stack of games about a foot high and after the girl scanned everyone of them, he had $13 credit. I'm guessing it was 10-12 games and I some of them weren't dead wood either. He had Final Fantasy X, Devil May Cry, and a few other decent games.

I'll just sell my dead s*** on Half.com for $5-$6 before I'll let EB steal it from me.

Freedom Fighters is not a bad game at all... not great but far from bad. If you have any interest in it whatsoever pick it up at $4.99, no hesitation. There is a PC demo of the game.

I went into a Best Buy, fought my way through numerous Return of the King setups, and found no indication of any kind of clearance sale. Of course this location didn't have the best selection of games in the first place, but I did see a few of the titles on the list. Didn't bother with a price check, as I didn't want any of the ones they had.

I just came back from another location on the other side of the MS river, from New Orleans. Since I just purchased an Xbox a few weeks ago, I picked up NASCAR 2004 for $10 and NHL Hitz for $5. The selection of titles was very limited. It seems this sale started yesterday and that may have been the day to get the good titles.

To be honest I don't see any worthy titles on here. I was hoping when I read the title that a game like World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars (which I stupidly sold around 6 months ago), Gallop Racer 2003, Colin Mcrae 3, Smash Court Tennis Pro 1, or some other usually cheaply priced title would wind up here. The only quality title I see is WE 6 and I already own that.

Figures. Man, I'm really itching to buy a game, last game I bought was March Madness 2004 back in December. So many games I could buy but I do want to save for the fall titles...

IndyCar Racing was gonna be on my list for the PS2 but we have no idea when that's coming.

I could get Colin Mcrae 4, Gallop Racer, Winning Eleven 7. I'm probably going to wait on Smash Court Tennis Pro 2 as I'm a hardcore tennis player and fan, probably settle with that and return it for one of the other games if it sucks.

Most Best Buys keep their inventory rather trim and only stock it with new games that sell. So good luck finding those games at your local outlet. Maybe at bestbuy.com...

I made the trip at lunch to my local BB. Here's what I got:

Nothing.

They didn't have any of those titles in stock. I even looked for ones I had no intrest in, just to see if they were there. The stock was really slim. I was just there last week picking up Outlaw Volleyball for $10, and I don't recall seeing any of those titles there last week either. Lokks like one of those sales that certain stores will have a good selection, while others will be empty before the sale even starts.

I got back and picked up The Great Escape for $4.99 and NFL Blitz Pro for $9.99. I also picked up LOTR:ROTK for $5 after signing up for some free trials I'll just cancel. Selection was poor as I expected but at least I found some deals.

Picked up a copy of Hitz Pro and amazingly there was a copy of ESPN Football for $5. Already had both but I can double that in trade in like scoop had mentioned.

They had all the value games in a special bin at my local BB. The selection was pretty limited. Also the news came out early yesterday so I am sure most of the inventory was gone on Monday.

Therefore we can only conclude that you are not an extreme idiot. :P

BD,
any chance they had more than one copy of ESPN Footbal? I'd like to pick it up again... but not for normal retail of 39.99. 5 bucks was sounding about perfect to me... (10 from you eh??).

Anyway.. lemme know. My store was raped by the time I found out about this. :(
