what was the link? When I got to HP.com it just says out of stock
The link Jack posted to slickdeals goes to the thread with this link below that automatically adds it to your cart, then you just have to go through the checkout process:

http://slickdeals.net/?sdtid=3220862&sd ... dWi-Fi32GB
^^^^

correct.

it will charge you shipping, but the HP rep I spoke to said that when the orders are processed, the shipping will be removed.

Well, I ordered one. Apparently, you meatheads can talk me into anything.

I really hope Android will eventually run on this thing.

This thing is a finger print paradise.

Need to get some kind of skin for the back and a screen protector.

Plus, I'm waiting for a good deal on the HP case.

No apps for either service.

Netflix doesn't work on the stock browser, Hulu does.

Okay...start a WebOS thread. Corrupting the legit thread now...and since some peeps are getting these things, it's only fair. :)

I finally was able to get two ordered with a ship date of 8/28 as well. So does anybody know how long the HP app store will remain active?

Don't worry about it. Once they get Android running on Touchpads, you will have access to the huge android market :)

Any of you hoarders want to sell me one for $100 + shipping?

any orders placed today or last night will most likely be cancelled.

If I get mine from HP, I may be able to help, but not at $100+shipping. Bought the 32gb units. Ordered 2 on Sunday for wife/I, but was able to get a TP Sunday at BB and another today.

Stores nationwide got another shipment in today. Word is there will be another drop Thursday. Stopped by the BB near my office after work, noticed some folks hanging out, overheard a conversation, bought another Zune HD 32gb (for the wife), asked, and was told "We are getting in plenty. There won't be a problem getting one."

When you say "today" do u mean Tues or Wed?

I went to a BB yesterday and the mgr said "we are sending them all back....HP is reimbursing us for all of the Touchpads so we are sending them all back. There won't be anymore for sale".

BB is full of it Jack. Some store mgrs sent them back and others sold them. I would suggest checking other stores and "DO NOT CALL" because you'll get this answer :)

The slickdeals forum seems to be under the impression that best buy stores are getting new shipments today. I would check it out but I am out of town and not near a store. If it's not too inconvenient, anyone still looking might want to stop by a store.

I just called my local BB and they said "We don't have any and we won't be getting any". Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
WHat the heck are you supposed to do? Go to the store and rip them out of their hands?

The Best Buy Geek Forum said this:
Update 11:47am CST 08/23/11:

"At this time all remaining TouchPad inventory is on its way to our stores and will be arriving throughout the week. Best Buy will no longer be selling the Touchpad on BestBuy.com, or any other Best Buy channel other than our stores. We cannot share specifics on the timing or quantity of these shipments. As soon as a store receives shipment, it will be merchandised on the sales floor and will be processed on a first come first serve basis."

It's so frustrating when the store employees all tell you something different.

You wonder if a number of people hoping to get this deal end up buying another tablet instead, as they get into the mindset of having a tablet where they weren't considering it before.

Or even those who end up with this deal may after a couple of years decide they want a tablet but one that can run more current apps. Android port will alleviate that but performance of ICS will probably not be as satisfactory, since it's targeted for newer hardware. Plus, a lot of apps. like Netflix seem to work on some models and not on others.

LOL I was thinking the EXACT same thing. :)

What's funny to watch are all those bidding lots of money on a TouchPad that has no future. I've seen $350 bids on a 32GB TouchPad. You could get an iPad 2 or even the new Lenovo Tablet for a little bit more.
