Wrong thread this belongs in the not so beautiful game thread but it was a good strike but only as good as Ocampos against England.
So id say a tie for best
Brazil, much like Argentina a couple of days ago with Bolivia just couldn't shake off Venezuela's stingy D. They had numerous chances but when the opponent is content to have 8 players defending deep in their zone, it was just tough for the samba team to score.
Paraguay also drew 0-0 against Ecuador, this is going to be a very interesting Copa America.
Despite Mancini's best efforts and sweet talking, Tevez is done in City. Ideally he would love to return to his beloved Boca Juniors but will probably end in Spain or Italy.
Colombia outplayed Argentina and should have won but missed on an easy goal with an open net. Messi got booed on his way off the pitch. WTF is wrong with Argentina? Bring Maradona back as coach lol.
There wasn't any room out there for either team the pitch looked really small. It looked like a game of Fifa 11 it was unbelievable and Columbia missed 2 absolute sitters.
Messi looked like that little twist on his knee he got bothered him for the rest of the game maybe.
If it wasn't for Romero and Colombia's lack of execution, this game could have been a disaster for the home team. Not sure if they're feeling the heat from the fans but obviously there's not too much chemistry among the forwards between Messi-Lavezzi and Tevez. Messi didn't play well but he needs a guy like Xavi and Iniesta in this team to help him do his thing. And Argentina could use a guy like Pastore whom I think would mobilize the midfield much better than what it has shown so far. Lack of ideas, not precise with the ball despite better ball possession have some fans chanting indeed for Maradona.
Colombia was dangerous in the counterattack, the mental lapses in defense is alarming, and now all the pressure is of course on Argentina to beat Costa Rica on Monday.
Argentina were poor from top to bottom, but I thought Tevez stood out again as particularly poor. He was absolutely leaden, making no runs and creating no space. Someone wisecracked astutely on Twitter that nobody had shut Messi down all season except for Tevez.

I was surprised that the host country would play in a stadium of only 30k. Pitch looked regular to me. Aregentina's rugby team usually plays there.
Hard to believe that teams like Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay are struggling at Copa America. Messi's team has to win tonight, a tie may still sneak them in but they'll depend on other results. Changes are coming, I think Gago and Pastore should be the guys associated with #10 and Higuain should be given a chance instead of the struggling Tevez.

Agree. Something has to give. I don't think I would want to be in the stadium or its vicinity tonight if they lose, lol.
And it looks like it's going to be Tevez's waistband!
Wait. What am I laughing at? I have been doing the Tevez since I came back from Greece. It was only about a month but damn did I get back into some bad habits.
Gago, and Di Maria made the midfielder look much sharper as Messi found the space and confidence he was lacking in the previous two matches. A much different and dynamic Argentinian team with those guys in, Higuain could have scored easily 3 himself and Aguero is a much better companion to Messi than Tevez. With 20 minutes to go its Ole, Ole time.
That was about as lopsided as they come. Argentina should have had several more goals at minimum, but seemed to be intent on screwing up their finishes. Messi looked tremendous. Really pleased with the adjustments.
Brazil advances to the quarters as they double Ecuador. Not the most dominant game of years past but with Pato and finally Neymar, they showed enough flashes of brilliance as they will have to face Paraguay again whom they almost lost to last week. Caicedo was dangerous for Ecuador all night long. Brazil's D along Argentina's blue line is suspect in my view, and the Copa America is still wide open for anyone to take.
Copa America has been tremendously disappointing to me so far. Not just the failure of the favorites to click, but the general level of play has been pretty piss poor, IMO. I expected better.

Agreed. There have been maybe two good matches so far, and certainly nothing spectacular.

Still not sure how that Uruguayan keeper made that double save near the end of regulation time
It was the best match of the tournament, but ultimately the home team just couldn't convert on their chances, many in part due to the great work by Muslera. Once Uruguay lost Perez, they were content to just wait out Argentina who simply had no creativity and couldn't make their man advantage count as the opponent didn't give them too much space for Messi to work his magic. It was Messi himself that had a glorious chance in ET but again the Uruguayan keeper came out strong.
Everyone converted their PK's except Tevez, tough stretch for him.
