Re: RIP MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE
This cracked me up way more than it should have:
As luck would have it, I landed in a room right next to another freshman wrestling fan. We called him the Birdman, and within three weeks, I was knocking on Bird's door, waiting for him to open it, then whipping baby powder in his face like Mr. Fuji's salt and "attacking" him.

That was a fantastic column. Perfectly captured my mindset with wrestling in the 80's. Loved it then bailed around college.

Re: RIP MACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE
for those who follow wrestling did WWE do a tribute to macho man? I'm talking about the ones where all the wrestlers come out on the ring before the show and pay their respects. I remember they had done something recently maybe a few years ago when someone else died.
I checked out that dead wrestlers list that was posted and it shocked me how many of these guys aren't around anymore. Davey boy smith dead, damn. And the Von Erich's I've known about.
I got one weird story out of all of this. You know how sometimes you have a song from your childhood stuck in your head as an adult. Mine is that one from the opening of that Texas Wrestling League the Von Erich's were in, WCW. I remember as a kid I hated it because I liked AWA and WWF so much better. That was such a bush leauge but I still watched it. Here is the intro song, anyone else remember this tune?
