WOW!!!!, in movie maker, you can do commentary over your highlights, all you need is a headset i.e. bluetooth earphone. I didn't know this.

Wow, that is crazy cool.

In other news, the PSN outage wasn't really bugging me until I realized I couldn't use my classic stadiums. But I guess I don't "own" them, I just pay Sony for the privilege of using them when it's convenient for them.

I just received my ps3 today and I did receive an update of some sort for the game.

Wow.. now I finally know what all the buzz is about for this game, it's crazy good!

Do most of you use the full analog controls? I really love them so far.. I'm assuming for hitting there is no power swing or contact, you just swing with the stick and it goes by the hitter's ratings?

Also, do they not announce the starting lineups anymore, always liked that?

Have to run to a soccer game, but will be playing the heck out of this one tonight when I get home. So far, I'm on veteran for everything and it's been challenging.

I'll read through this thread tonight, but what camera angles do you all like?

Thanks!!!

Actually if you press the square button prior to the pitch you will be poised for a power swing. You'll notice the difference in the target circle (after the pitch when you press the left stick to see where you swung, where the pitch was, etc) that it is significantly smaller than normal when you press the square button first. I will say it's VERY rare that I use the square button as I have hit plenty of doubles and home runs by just using the sticks.

I love Catcher 5 or even Catcher 4 for hitting. Really see the ball well from those angles.

Just found that out myself this morning. I guess no roster updates either. Want to start a 14 game season with the Reds, but I want the update or Knights rosters.

You can download Knight's rosters direct from OS, put them on a thumb drive, and then copy them directly to the PS3 for use.

I take back what I said about the tweaks to analog pitching in the last patch. After a couple times through a rotation, it is harder. Hell, I walked in a run with Roy Halladay today. Back to all analog.

Finished my first 29-game fantasy Pirates season with a lame record of 14-15, missing the playoffs. Didn't do too hot in the off-season either. They've made it a lot tougher to build a super-team than it used to be a couple years back. Got rocked in the season two opener too. How dare this game be hard! :P

Presentation-wise... real-time with time between pitches set to "faster" is a nice alternative to fast play if you want to keep things moving without sacrificing all the ambience.

As for the announcers, I've turned everyone off except Vasgersian. The color gets really annoying after a while.

I'll check those out, thanks. I will say.. this game has that one more game for me like NCAA does.. it's been a LONG time since a baseball game has done that for me!

I LOVE the analog pitching, batting and fielding.. doubt I'll ever turn those off.

For the different stadium pitching cameras, is that if you use broadcast pitching?

Exactly. Or if there's one you like, you can just use it as your "custom" camera.

I really like the ones that are straight on to the plate, like St. Louis or Minnesota. Still, I leave it on Broadcast and roll with whatever the home team uses.

Thank you. I'm like a little kid playing this game, sorry for all the questions. :)

I tried to throw a runner out at home and when it showed the reply, Rasmus threw it so hard his momentum carried him to the ground, the commentators even talked about it.

It's amazing how this game is a total package, much like NCAA football has been for me.

My brother loves baseball and only has an x360, so I can't wait until he comes over tomorrow to play it.

Same feelings I had when I made the switch. Crazy as it sounds, and even though the two systems are different, I think playing 2k has prepared us 2k guys for The Show's analog control. At least made the switch over to this game that much easier.

One main thing I've noticed about the Show through about 40 games of my season is that there are way too many runs scored late in games. My starters are all like 2-2 or whatever and the relievers have way too many decisions. I don't remember this ever being the case previously so it's new to this season or I'm just having some bad/good luck late in games. I think my best starter is 4-2 with a 3.85 era...and then I've got guys that are 1-3 with a 2.10 era. Everyone else is in between...just kind of strange.

It's funny you should mention that. I had a game yesterday, 0-0 through six innings, Verlander and Masterson hooked up in a real pitcher's duel, then all of a sudden in the seventh inning BOTH starters imploded, and neither bullpen was very effective, and I wound up losing 7-5. You would think at least one of the starters would have kept cruising along, neither of their pitch counts were very high, but both of them got rocked. And at the same time. It just felt weird.

There are definitely times when the narrative of the game just wants to go a certain way, and there doesn't seem to be much you can do. Since it's statistically driven, I'm usually ok with it.

I will say that I've had my bullpen meltdowns, but I've noticed that if you really try to throw strikes in the warmup, that corresponding pitch's rating will go up. That seems to have helped.

Damn in my franchise(Dodgers) I go into Cellular Field, Holy hell is that stadium awesome looking and then they take me to a place in Houston called Minute Maid and the WOW!!! factor goes up. Damn they made these stadiums breath taking.

I'm currently 4th in the West at 28 -26, The Rockies are first.

In my Cubs franchise my pitchers have been all over the place. I've had starters dominate a game or two and then get destroyed, had the bullpen be up and down, etc.

One thing I've noticed is that outfield throws seem way more accurate than before, especially to the plate. 20 games into my Cubs season, I've probably gunned down 4-5 guys at home and a couple others at the other bases. Whereas most throws from the outfield to home pulled the catcher up the line, I'm seeing a lot of accurate one hoppers, even on throws where I don't get the guy.

I've noticed that when I make my ps3 use only 720p, the game seems a bit clearer than when I run in 1080p?

Busch doesn't look all that great, but there are some really beautiful stadiums in the game for sure.

The game is optimized to be played in 720p. Last year, it looked better in 1080p, but it doesn't hold up as well in '11.

I agree Busch doesn't jump out at me either. So far, I've been really impressed with Atlanta and Houston.

I'm 16-10 in my season with the Cards. My wife officially thinks I'm insane for playing this game daily!

It's funny, I've always thought that some of the ballparks that in real life aren't that beautiful look really good in The Show, and vice versa.

For example the old Metrodome in Minnesota, in real life it was hideous, but I always thought it looked gorgeous in The Show. The same with Cellular Field and Rogers Center. They're nothing special in real life, but they look great in The Show.

And then parks that you think would knock your socks off, like Fenway and Camden Yards, never seem that impressive. At least to me anyways, I don't know. Maybe it's just my imagination, maybe I have different expectations for different parks.

Do you change your ps3 to 720p when playing?
