Got to see the first half of Inside Job last night -- unbelievable. Would love nothing more than to see Greenspan and company go to jail without passing go for a very long time. Look forward to watching the back half and deleted scenes tonight.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed Due Date. Everyone's been bashing it, comparing it to The Hangover and Planes, Trains and Automobiles. And I'd agree, it's not as funny as The Hangover, but I still thought it was pretty good. It has its moments.

Picked up The Fighter on blu last week. Just watched it again for a second time this afternoon.

Awesome fight movie. Great movie period. Every one is great in it. Bale actually earned that Oscar.
Just a very well done story of the boxing Wards bros.

Even though its not covered in the movie . Anyone that remembers or watched the Ward- Gotti trilogy will get a little extra fom Mickey's story.

I liked The Fighter but thought the main character was the weakest part of it... partly because he's so unable to express or speak up for himself (as opposed to his girlfriend), and also because Bale and Leo are so freaking good, Wahlberg shrinks a bit by comparison. And I thought all the fights played like re-creations of Hulk Hogan matches... he gets beat up for 95% of the match, somehow flips into F-You mode, and then wins. That's just me though.

Still, I liked it a lot. Hell, that menagerie of sisters is worth the price of admission.

I agree there. Wahlberg is definately the weakest link. Adams kicks his ass as his gf and Bale completely kicks his ass the entire movie....BUT...I think this is the best Ive seen Marky do since Boogie Nights.

Easily one of the greatest trilogies in recent boxing history. Right up there with Ali-Frazier, Vazquez-Marquez, Bowe-Holyfield, Leonard-Duran and Barrera-Morales.

Maybe "The Fighter 2" will cover those bouts. Hell, Gatti's life alone would make an incredible movie.

Well, Micky Ward is a quiet, almost shy, guy in real life. And he's a damn church mouse compared to Dicky in real life. Dicky is still larger than life.

The Alfonso Sanchez fight -- not the final fight but the one in which Larry Merchant said, "He's just fighting for a pay check, etc." -- occurred just as it happened in the movie.

Hollywood always is going to take liberties with ring scenes, but I thought the boxing scenes in "The Fighter" were 1,000 percent authentic compared to the campy pap we saw in the "Rocky" movies.

A movie about the life of mercurial Venezuelan boxer Edwin Valero, who last year killed himself in jail two days after murdering his wife, would make "Raging Bull" look like "Toy Story."

Valero was an incredible talent in the ring. All boxing did was barely, and I mean, BARELY, control the rage that was uncontrollable out of the ring. The best fight that could have been made in boxing in early 2010 wasn't Pacquiao-Mayweather; it was Pacquiao-Valero.

Damn, I want someone to make this movie.

Just finished watching 127 Hours. I'm not a big James Franco fan, but he freakin' nailed it. He was amazing and I really was on pins and needles despite knowing the outcome. IMO, if you're watching a true story and already know what's going to happen, however the movie still creates such emotion and suspense, that's a sign of an excellent movie. I was moreso in to this film than the Fighter which I found to be good, but not great.

I'd put 127 Hours up towards very good. For a $1.00 and some change through Red Box, it was very much worth the money. Would have liked to have seen it on blu-ray though.

Social Network was also quite good.

127 days was so-so.. it didn't really grab me like it did my wife.

We had family movie night last night. It's been while since we had a movie we all wanted to see. We rented Tangled, and while my son had seen it in the theaters, he was more than happy to watch it again. The movie was stellar. Great story line and music. I guess you could say I'm a sucker these type of Disney films. I'd go far as to saying it was just as good as Toy Story 3.

Well worth the buck fifty from Red Box!

I'm pretty jazzed that The Incredibles is coming to Blu Ray this week. Not only my favorite Pixar movie, but one of the best movies of the last decade. Can't wait to see it in 1080p!

Dan, that's good to know about Tangled. My daughter is in an all-things-princess-related kick and wants to see this. Nice to know it won't make me stupid in the process.

Incredibles is going to look sick on bluray.

Bought the Tron/Tron Legacy 2-pack and love how the original 80's film looks in high-def. Still one of the most unique films ever made.

I Netflix streamed two classics this weekend... The Red Shoes (1948) which is like a more literate Black Swan, and The Third Man (1949) which also has a great, great script.

We rented Tangled, and while my son had seen it in the theaters, he was more than happy to watch it again. The movie was stellar. Great story line and music. We ended up buying the 3D version of the BR. Fun story.

Due Date couldn't have ended soon enough. Yes, I thought the Hangover was hilarious and that bar may have been a bit high.. However, Due Date fell flat in my book.

for someone who doesn't like many new films at all, really did enjoy this one. Actually, liked it over the original. To me, were more lol moments

Haven't seen it yet Vinny but very much am looking forward to it. Perhaps not as jazzed about it as the first one, but still interested. This movie seems like it's getting panned by the critics for the most part, and then the average movie goer either loves it or they remark how it's the same basic storyline as the first.

edit: IMO Hangover 2 follows/makes the formula, for what a sequel should be. Maybe you can tell, did like it

I thought Hangover 2 was funny but that they followed the formula too much. It's literally almost the same movie in a different location and (slightly) different gags.

Best part was Alan's room.
