They do need the pp practice. Helpful Habs.
I hate to have to actually agree with the milbury but at this point in time, and as the rosters stand, I do believe he is right. The Bruins are just a better team when they actually try to play hockey.
That does make you wonder why they dont do it all the time.
At this time the Habs really do not look like a playoff team to me.
toonarmy wrote:7-0. That was a shocking asskicking. Montreal looked like crap tonight. Pit with a SO win over Philly. Looks like I watched the wrong game, lmao.
That makes two of us... I should have at least muted the idiots
Bobby Lou continues his fine form on the road as 'Nucks take care of ATL after a tight entertaining game with DET a couple of days ago, where he was the difference in the win. I don't see the Wings catching up VAN for the top of the western conference at this point, perhaps it's a good time for coach V to start resting some players, nobody wants any more injuries at this time of the year.

I just don't think he can make a come back in Philly after giving up that goal and how he played the whole Finals. And Bob will only get better the more he plays, barring injury, so I'd like to see them give him a chance in the playoffs. He was great against Pittsburgh.
Habs open up at home vs the Caps down 1-0 as they give up a quick goal.
Since winning 8-1 at Minnesota they have given up 10 straight goals. TEN!
Its pretty clear to me that they have been doing it with mirrors all season long. Sooner or later that depleted defense, team and Price in goal were going to catch up with them.
I hope I am wrong. I just have to see it on the ice first.

Another night another shut out loss. 2-0 Caps.Thats three straight games without a goal.
A couple of positives...Price played well and I have plenty of beer.
Miracle comeback by the Flames as their slim hopes are still alive thanks to a SO. After being up 4-1 in the third period the young Oils stopped skating and led by Iginla the Flames just kept on coming knowing that their season was at stake. The Vets showed their experience for CAL and it payed off big time.
Gotta feel bad for the LA Kings. That Kopitar injury was plain nasty. It will be interesting to see if they can overcome the injuries that have visited them.
Record franchise 50th win for Canucks as they win their 8th straight road game, this time against CBJ. They did it with C. Schneider who continues to shine backing up Luongo and at under a million dollars will definitely get a lot of interest once the season is over.
Win came at a cost though as D. Hamhuis left the game in the 1st period with an injury just as K. Bieksa was making his return to the lineup.
The D just can't keep healthy with 2 weeks to go, c'mon coach V get some guys a rest, they well deserve it this season.
10s - looks like VAN may play the Blackhawks in the first round, if Chicago manages to squeak into the playoffs. How do you feel about that? Seems like they've had Luongo's # the past few years.

They do have our numbers, but at the same token this is a different CHI team, and a much more mature Canucks team. Personally, I would love to face them again and get our sweet revenge. I am sure Bobby Lou would probably say the same thing. Once the playoffs start as I always say it, it's a different beast anyone can beat any team with a hot goaltender. Just ask 34.
But first things first. Hope Hawks make it to the big dance.
According to Steve Nash who happens to be Manny Malhotra's brother in law, in his latest tweet Manny who's gone for the rest of the year is to have eye surgery tomorrow to save his eye and vision. Hockey don't matter at all when it comes to this, here's hoping that all goes well for the Malhotra family.
Anyway I am looking forward to the playoffs but the s hit thing is here in the USA there's like 1 national NHL network so I'll end up seeing around 5% of the first and 2nd round playoff games.

This is the Bettman way. Put the games where most people CANNOT see them.
Its almost unbelieveable that the NHL gave a five year extension to this corrupt worm last november. I say almost cause the NHL gms are the only people in North American sport with less guts and brains than gary " the weasel" bettman.

Ya it's crazy as a business why you wouldn't sign a tv contract with a network that will show all your games. The average sports fan doesn't follow hockey in the states like they do in Canada. Unless you are a fan of the game, no average joe is going to buy NHL Center Ice here in the US.
The NHL Playoffs are THE BEST playoffs in the last 12-13 years. they are the most consistently exciting and intense playoffs, because each game is like a game 7 and the seeding from 1 to 8 isn't really that far , that is why you see so many first round upsets (like Montreal's streak last year , 8vs1 over Wash). It's a freaking shame I won't be able to watch all those 1st round games.
What was the deal on why the NHL didnt reup with ESPN ? I remember ESPN use to show all the games on multiple channels. VS is a nice channel but they can't do what ESPN did showing all the games.
Good game going in DET as the Wings play their division rival Blackhawks. T. Bertuzzi was thrown out of the game for an elbow to the head of R. Johnson. The game is wide open, Wings know that the Sharks are right up with them in the standings and CHI is of course fighting for a playoff spot.
Canucks finish their four road games with a perfect record as they got by the Preds 3-1. Tightly played as NAS is still not guaranteed of a playoff spot, both Luongo and Rinne (this guy is Vezina material) had great saves and the rest of the boys just turned up their strong forecheck in the last period overcoming an early deficit.
More importantly they win the Western conference with the win something I don't recall them doing ever.
Here's hoping that Malhotra's eye surgery went well and can get hs vision back very soon while Hamhuis status is still unknown as he suffered a concussion a couple of days ago, his second one in two months and is sidelined indefinitely.
At least the rest of the walking wounded are starting to skate on their own, M. Samuelsson T. Glass, A. Alberts, and A. Elder should be ready by the playoffs.
Malhotra's situation causes one to wonder why any NHL player wouldn't wear a visor. I don't even skate in warm-ups of my beer game on Sundays without my helmet and a full cage.
