Arrogant, thoroughly dislikeable hoofball merchant with a knack for ending up the least popular man in whichever city he's managing in. Having said that, there's no reason why a manager whose primary tactic involves smacking a long ball and seeing what happens shouldn't do very well in the lower leagues.
great, I'll keep my guide to League One football grounds another year.

And an absolutely beautiful one. I thought I was watching an old Sly Stone movie on that one. Spectacular goal.

Props to DirecTV or FSC for mislabeling the games this a.m. so that I ended up recording the freaking Newcastle game. That was one unpleasant surprise.

If ManU ends up winning the title, Shrek's athletic goal will be remembered fondly for a long time.

Something was going on Dish had it down as Spurs Sunderland.
Does Meireles's contract only allow him to play 60 minutes or something WTF Kenny, thats twice now i dont get it.
Suarez looked real sharp i thought although he wanted to go to ground to easy for me, im sure the fans will sort him out on that.
Gotta win those if you wanna shot at champions league.

Mereiles was sick in the dressing room at halftime, apparently. Wasn't the managers decision.

Should have won, but one of those days where there just wasn't enough edge in front of goal.

I'm just glad that's a consideration considering 2 months ago the same 'worst squad in the league' was in a relegation position. FWIW I don't think we'll finish top 4 - too many points dropped early and Tottenham and Chelsea battling for that last CL spot.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Chelsea didn't make the CL next year? Would Torres leave Chelsea then to go to an even 'bigger' club? ;)

Very frustrating - shame Suarez' free kick rattled the bar and the ref should have played advantage when Maxi was through on goal. That said, we still should beat Wigan at home (unless we still had Woy, then he'd describe our 1-1 draw as 'a famous result').

For a defensive/holding midfielder Lucas should stop giving the ball away in a dangerous position (which he does at least once a game) before people even think about comparing him to Dunga. Unless they want me to snort and laugh when making this comparison, and if so, they have succeeded.

Do you think we could get Mascherano back on loan since he's just riding the pine at Barca? ;)

Oh, and that Rooney goal was bloody incredible. Stand up if you hate scousers everyone!

Although im standing up Macca some of my best mates are scousers, im from the other side of the mersey and fondly known as a "woolyback" but lets see.

Gerrard,
Carra,
Rooney,
Nolan,
Barton.
 As they say in my trade "Keep your eyes on yer tools laa"

Lucas is awesome sauce now and you never here from him, Mascherano can rot along with the wooden benches he now sits on.
Dont think we have a chance at champions either So Chelsea Liverpool in the final of Europa league next year sounds alright and a nice stage for another elbow to Torres chin from Agger.

Lucas is an unusual player. He's capable of dominating a game and his passing is becoming more accurate. OTOH, when he does play a loose ball it almost always seems to be horrifically bad in a "WTF were you thinking" sort of way.

Great result for Spurs. Well done particularly since they were missing a few players.

Thanks to Gennaro Gattuso for continuing to dedicate his career to proving that every nasty thing that I said about the '06 Azzuri was utterly correct and justified. :)

Great performance from Arsenal. They refused to fold and played some very nice football. The speed of the counter for the 2nd goal was awesome and Nasri really picked the pass with aplomb. Messi was a bit off by his standards. Not like him to miss two one-on-one chances against the keeper.

Speaking of one-on-ones with the keeper, the real Ronaldo was lethal in that department. Love this goal so I'll post the link to mark the retirement of an outstanding player:

Don't want to take away from an excellent effort by Arsenal, but Barca really looked lazy and overconfident in the second half. Gunners deserved the win and both goals were good, but much too much standing around by the visitors after they grabbed the lead. They looked like they expected another goal to just fall into their hands. Their furious play after conceding the second was an indictment of their own performance.

Without Puyol and with Pique being suspended, there seems to be some indecision in the back line for the Spaniards. Barca as usual had possession of the ball but Arsene's team played it smart if not a safe game. I though Wilshere and Koscielny were great tonight.

psyched that Sheffield Wednesday gets a rare showing on FSC tomorrow. Sure, they will get pelted by Birmingham City, but will be nice to watch them regardless.

Crawley hit the bar in the last minute while Chelsea's stellar run continues (nice goal by Baines). Perhaps Chelsea need to spend more money on players?
