You don't need to embed, just copy the youtube address on your browser and paste it after you click on the Youtube box. Jared did away with embedding because of the hijacks.

A trailer dubbed "Serial Killer" for Team Bondi's L.A. Noire found its way to the Internet on Saturday, and on top of offering 90 seconds of new gameplay footage, a release date was shown. According to the video, L.A. Noire will release for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on May 17.

If this game is even 1/2 as impressive as the video makes it appear, I have a feeling I will be playing this from start to finish in one sitting. Last time I did that was MGS2.

Rockstar's gonna be rollin' in money after this game and RDR. Good for them.

Isn't Rockstar owned by Take-Two?

Forgot about that -- you're right. Between RDR, 2k11 and now L.A. Noire, I'd say Take-Two's having a heckuva good run. I think their financials come out next week...should be interesting.

"Rockstar Games, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. [TTWO] , and Team Bondi Pty. Ltd. are proud to announce that L.A. Noire is expected to launch on both the Xbox 360(R) video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation(R)3 computer entertainment system on May 17, 2011 in North America and May 20, 2011 in Europe.

"L.A. Noire breaks new ground for us," said Sam Houser, founder of Rockstar Games. "Its intense blend of action and real detective work defies genre conventions to create a unique and captivating thriller."

Set amid the violence and corruption of post-World War II Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is a crime thriller that seamlessly blends crime-solving, clue-finding, car chases and shoot-outs with revolutionary new interrogation-based gameplay that will allow players to read characters' emotions in order to reveal the truth. Players will take on the role of Cole Phelps, a decorated war veteran, who rises through the ranks of the LAPD by solving a series of gruesome murders and other crimes that bring him face-to-face with the dark heart of Los Angeles during Hollywood's Golden Age.

Developed in a special partnership with Rockstar Games and Team Bondi, L.A. Noire employs ground-breaking new MotionScan performance-scanning technology. MotionScan utilizes 32 high-definition cameras to capture actors' faces in 3D, transferring every aspect of their performance into the game, enabling players for the first time to lip-read in-game characters and to read every facial expression down to the finest detail."

don't believe the above trailer was ever posted. Impressive. One can actually read the Firestone and tire model script on the whitewall tires.

Total of 22 individual cases to solve. Each case reported to have 7-8 different outcomes/endings.

sidenote: I like how the official Rockstar/TeamBondi site is recommending different film noir movies to watch. Including 'Detour' (1945) One of the finest, IMO

Thanks for posting that, vinny -- I hadn't seen it before. Obviously some very talented folks working on this game -- can't wait to play it.

I bit and pre-ordered this game using my TDU2 $10 videogame credit from Amazon. I was going back and forth PS3 vs 360 and decided on the PS3. It also has a $10 videogame credit too.

I think the game continues to amaze me every time I watch a video. But did anyone else catch that the cop and detective look the same? I hope they're not doing an EA here like in FIFA Soccer where generic characters look the same.

Rod, I didn't pick up on that in the video, but didn't it say you start off as a rookie on the police force and work your way up? Maybe the cop and detective you're referring to are meant to be the same guy, just later in his career.

title looks like it was crafted with a 1 billion dollar budget.

wouldn't suprise me if LA Noire becomes the #1 regarded title in terms of quality, to have the Rockstar label on it. Don't necessarily mean the longest gameplay/fun factor. But rather, overall quality/fit & finish. We'll see..

I hope not.

I don't know how they'll handle reactions and finding clues but I hope it's not like early quest games. Where if you missed one little thing you would have to walk around the levels, sometimes for stupid amounts of time, to find that final thing. I hope searching for clues is fun and not like collecting flowers in RD. :)

What the hell was wrong with collecting the flowers?

As long as its not like playing Kings Quest it should be okay. Not that I didnt like KQ.

Looking forward to this one, ME3 and Elder Scrolls V.

Graphics and ambiance look off the chart. My main concern is how much "movie" it will be versus interaction with the game. I am not a fan of games where the user by and large is an onlooker, without a lot of interaction. Red Dead was easily the Game of the Year in 2010, and LA Noir, if done right, will be GOY for 2011. Very interested in this one.

I hated collecting flowers. No I hated that it was such an important part of the game. If it was merely a few missions but they had 1 too many missions and goals where you needed to collect flowers.

Should have done more missing gold, buried treasure things like that.
