The Monday morning quarterbacking about Cutler will be insane tomorrow in Chicago. Can't wait for a report from the DSP cats in the Windy City.
Possibly the worst thing about Cutler's performance today is that smug f*ck Rick Reilly will feel just a bit more f*cking smug.

ESPN has a poll going and it's 33% (necessary) 67% (timid) about Cutler leaving in the 3rd Qtr. Like others have said he didn't help his cause by walking around on the sideline and listening to his Ipod.
Mark Sanchez got blown up right before halftime and he came back in the game.

Coach Lovie Smith echoed that sentiment.
“There was no decision at all,” Smith said. “He was injured. He was hurt and he couldn’t go. The trainers and doctors . . . made that decision.”

Re: NFL Season 2010
It's too bad the Jets defense couldn't stop a slug in quicksand in the 1st half. You can't spot a top defensive team like the Steelers 3 scores and then hope to come back and win. They put up a valiant effort in the 2nd half and again it was the D that let them down on the Steelers last drive. I think if Sanchez could have gotten back in there with 2-3 minutes left, he could have made something happen and possibly won the game. Also that goal line stand right before the safety was huge for Pitt. Two terrible play calls IMO in a row and that was pretty much the game right there. You can't stuff it up the middle for 2 yards on 4th down, when the D is stacked in there like they were. Sanchez should have checked off and called an audible.
Oh well, another year, another AFC Championship game loss for the Jets. But I don't think we have seem the last of Sanchez in the playoffs. The kid will only get better.

Rex will be in the superbowl again next year. Mark his words.
And no one can go on the road and win 3 games to get to the SB like the Jets can (oh wait, nevermind the packers, or the Giants, etc).

Re: NFL Season 2010
I think QB play will eventually come up.
Sanchez made enough plays to get the Jets where they are, winning a lot of close games and making enough big passes in the playoffs to get them as far as they did.
But you can argue that a better QB would have done more for them, because their WRs are pretty good, though the Jets philosophy may be to grind it out and pick their spots, instead of putting teams away, not having to rely on so many close wins.
They had a good year but in the end, they just took NE out of Pittsburgh's way.

Re: NFL Season 2010
I'm not question his injury, I am questioning his effort. He played horribly and made poor decisions but what bugged me the most is the Bears ended up with a 3rd string quarterback who hasn't taken a rep in practice since the Bye week and he was doing his best. When he was on the sideline did you see Cutler or Collins talking to him? No Cutler sat right next to him and didn't utter a word and Collins must of left the stadium after his 2 series collecting a million dollars for being a stiff. You know damn well if Cutler was talking to Hanie they would of showed it on Fox.Rodster wrote:Whoa it looks like Cutler was injured. Two veterans and not one of them could talk to the Rookie who was put in that situations? Disgraceful if you ask me.

Sanchez definitely picked it up in the second half but don't forget that some of those same receivers dropped key passes at key downs. It's only his second year people tend to forget, and yes he will get better.wco81 wrote:I think QB play will eventually come up.

Fox showed Hanie sitting next to Cutler looking at a pictures of the Packers defense. Hanie asked Cutler a question and all he got was a shoulder shrug.Danimal wrote:I'm not question his injury, I am questioning his effort. That was disgraceful, I agree especially in a Championship game. It was as if they wish he failed so they wouldn't look bad for playing awful during the game.Danimal wrote:I'm not question his injury, I am questioning his effort. Sanchez is getting BETTER and should continue to do so. He hasn't regressed like Chad Henne. Sure he could have played better but this is his third year. I'd say he was an asset for the Jets unlike Cutler for the Bears.wco81 wrote:I think QB play will eventually come up.

Re: NFL Season 2010
The game can be summed up in 2 images. The first is the one with Cutler sitting next to Haine all bundled up and listening to his iPod. The other is Rodgers almost defiantly spitting blood after getting smacked in the head by 2 Bears.
I wish there wasn't the 2 week wait until the SB. I know I'm going to be completey sick of hearing about the game after Wednesday of this week. Maybe I should tune in to the Chicago stations. That will keep me entertained for a while

Re: NFL Season 2010
That first half by the Steelers last night was the best half they played all season, and one of the best I've ever seen them play. It reminded me of the 2005 AFC championship game against Denver, almost everything went right for them. Of course, that Denver game finished as a blowout as well, unlike that extremely painful second half last night, which I'm going to choose to forget ever happened.
Good luck in the Super Bowl to all the Packers fans here, I would be rooting for your team if it wasn't mine playing against you in two weeks. I can't get worked up to dislike the Packers at all, and I'm sure every non Steelers fan in the country will be pulling for you. Unlike the Ravens and Jets, the Packers are a terrible matchup for the Steelers and exactly the kind of offense that kills their defense. After seeing what the Steelers did in the first half last night though, I know that anything is possible.
Get well soon Pouncey!

Would be hard for me to smack talk about the Packers as they are my favorite team in the NFC. I think the majority of Steeler fans have a like and respect for Green Bay as they are a very similar team to us with loyal fans that are very knowlegeable. Win or lose, looking forward to a great Super Bowl.Jack-diggity wrote:Jets are getting wasted. Damn. Looks like my pop and I will finally see our favorite teams play each other in the Super bowl. Cutler may have been hurt. But public support from his head coach hardly is the stamp of imprimatur.

Same here! Bryce, Landon and I hit rewind for that incident on our DVR a bunch of times last night while watching the game. We also played it in super slo-mo and caught Brunell saying the word "booger" before the cameras cut away.
