What if that's exactly what the Jets want to happen? I mean couldn't it be possible that they're trying to get Brady to pick on Cromartie because that way they can defend it better because they know where they're going? Maybe I'm giving Rex and his coaching staff too much credit but it would not surprise me in the least if they are trying to goad Brady and Hoody into a trap.

I'm all for more teams talking crap with each other. In a lot of ways free agency has reduced the amount of rivalry that used to exist, when teams really used to hate their rivals. I love the Jets talking smack and Terrell Suggs wearing a shirt that gives Pittsburgh the middle finger. I can't wait to watch the games this weekend.

When has that EVER worked on Hoody/Brady?

There is a first time for everything....I also doubt very much the robot like Pats will fall for anything like an emotional trap but it sure doesnt hurt to try. What do the Jets have to lose? Everyone is expecting to lose anyway.

Psyched up and ready here too. Last weekends games did nothing but turn up the anticipation levels for this ones.

If Jets lose, and lose big, it makes them look even more ridiculous. Even some Jets fan are turned off by the banter. I don't find Rex's comments to be too bad, but when Cromatie and LT spouts insults that are completely retarded, they better win or they lose credibility and people will question their work ethic. Are they more concern in talking or preparing for the game?

I do think the Jets have a shot at beating the Pats. For all the talks, the Jets still have a good defense. But their offense is really bad at times, and losing Woody this week bodes ill for their running game. But you never know, so anyone who thinks Pats will blow out Jets like last game aren't paying attention.

I didn't say it will work, but I'm not saying it couldn't either. It is conceivable to me that the Jets have picked something up on film and they're trying to increase the likelihood of going towards Cromartie to take advantage of it. I fully expect the Jets to make a game of this and I would not be surprised to see them win it. Then again it may be over by the time I get home from the game and get a chance to watch the 2nd half so what do I know?

unless they wish to throw at Revis, where else can they go, Scoop?

Brady had better be careful. Cromartie leads the NFL in 3 year olds

The Jets DID beat the Pats in week 2.

And the Pats are ranked 30th in passing defense and 11th in the run. Now a lot has to do with them blowing out teams, where teams had to pass. The Jets problem however is with Schottenheimer and Sanchez.

Hey XXXIV,

I hear Rams fans are glad Shurmur's gone. Is that the case?

I gotta say I'm not real excited about the OC for the 25th ranked offense becoming our head coach. Hopefully Holmgren knows what he's doing.

I dont know about the Rams. I know I am glad hes gone. He was a very timid OC that drove the fandom nuts every week.....but who knows....he might be one hell of a head coach.

Better you than Me. Good luck though. I always liked the Browns.

Fritz Shurmur, Pat's father, worked for Holmgren as DC for many years.

Holmgren, some other Browns exec and Shurmur all have the same agent.

But Shurmur is probably getting some credit for Bradford's year.

Best analysis I have seen of the situation. I think the Pats win this one, but doubt it will be as big of a joke as before. Some of the Jets players need to drink a big glass of "shut the hell up" until they can back up their mouths. The Pats are a different team than when they first played the Jets, and the most recent time they played the Pats made them look like a second-rate college team. This is the playoffs, though, and anything can happen.

Very true. He might be getting some of the credit for Sams rookie season as he sure wasnt hired for the 6 points his offense scored in Seattle 11 days ago.

Again, the guy was very conservative but the head coaching job is a different job than the OC job. Martz was a great OC with the Rams but an egomaniacal moron as a headcoach. The reverse could very well be true for Shurmur.

Schefter tweeted today that Wes Welker made 11 references to foot/toes/and step up in his press conference today. So now the Pats are starting to fire back. This should be a great game.

I'd be more likely to believe that if Cromartie was smart enough to know how to use a condom.

He really didn't have much to work with.. it's not like the Rams had some stellar offense coming into this season.

7-9 was better than I expected this season.

Yep! Much better than I expected too.... I would have been happy with 4 wins :P

They have a few holes but that is the Rams most pressing need...someone for Bradford to throw the ball to. They moved up in the draft a few spots with that loss in Seattle.

Plus....DX needs to work on catching the ball cause he has the speed and he can and does get open deep.

Don't forget Clayton, Avery and Gillard were injured most of the season!

I would like to see a good backup RB to Jackson, one that is agile and speedy, plus we need an OLB.

I didnt forget. Though I have a feeling Avery will always get injured. Maybe I was spoiled by Bruce and Holt but I would love to get someone anywhere near as good as either one of those guys was to grow old on the Rams with Sam.

Yes, I agree. They do need a back up RB and an even more importantly an olb but what dont they need? 8)

It occurred to me this morning that the Jets are so annoying that I am actually rooting for the Pats as are a lot of people. Think about that for a second, it's like if the Royals all of the sudden became a decent team, made the playoffs and we're such assholes that we all started rooting for the Yankees.

Unfortunately my gut tells me when this many people want something to happen it usually doesn't.

In other words I have a bad feeling about this.

I'm definitely in that group but i'm not to worried with the Pats at Home and Brady under center. Hopefully some creative Pats fans will bring their feet signs to the game. :)
