Suffice it to say to say that in 2005 he took over a Temple team that was an absolute laughing stock for 15 years, and was coming off an 0-11 season, and has gone 17-8 over the last two seasons.

AU's Gus Malzahn to Vandy. I'm happy for him, as he's a top shelf offensive mind, but I sure do hate losing him...

YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!

Was hard to watch Michigan get rolled so badly today ....but it was a bad day all across Big Ten country. Maybe its just sweet justice for their arrogance and these idiots refusal to actually count the teams in their conference....but that is a discussion for a different time.

0 and 5 for the NCAAs most pretentious conference.

Luckily for the big ten, they only had to face the SEC in 3 of their 5 losses, as those games were just f***in brutal.

I was actually looking forward to that Michigan game  :(

The SEC is thanking the BCS gods for giving them games against the Big 10 because they were winless against everyone else before today.

It is sad that the Big 10 will make boatloads of money today for their conference while Boise St. had to play in the Vegas Bowl.

The sooner the BCS goes away the better....at least we get to watch the 4 loss UConn team make a boatload of money for the Big Least tonight....while they get their ass handed to them. The Big Least will be okay though as they poached TCU away from the MWC.

I HATE the BCS.

I think they need to rethink those Big Ten Conference names. Instead of Legends and Leaders they should change them to Over Rated and Swish Cheese.

Nothing makes me smile more then when the Big 10 gets exposed.

I was very glad to see TCU win and prove they are the real deal. Hopefully this does a little bit in helping to get a playoff system. I think TCU can hang with anyone in the country.

Could there be any LESS buzz about the BCS title game tonight outside of the states of Alabama and Oregon and the teams' respective fan bases? Hell, this is the first post in the DSP college football thread in a week. The enthusiasm is contagious.

Meanwhile, the NFL season thread is ablaze with posts.

If you're not living in Oregon or Alabama, did the front page of your local sports section lead with a preview of the national title game tonight? I didn't think so, either. It probably was all NFL Playoffs.

Great job, BCS and NCAA, for scheduling the biggest game of the year on the day AFTER the first weekend of the NFL Playoffs. What the hell was wrong with last Monday night?

Idiots.

Agree 100%....They are complete idiots.

Until I read your post I had forgotten there was a game. Thanks for the heads up 8)

What I can't believe is that they made the deal to put the BCS games on ESPN. So the National Championship game isn't on free TV? That makes no sense to me at all.

NASCAR thought it would see no drop-off in TV ratings by moving all of its Chase races from ABC to ESPN. Well, that worked well. Ratings were down almost 20 percent throughout the Chase.

There are more problems in NASCAR than just moving the Chase races to cable, but that genius decision certainly didn't help.

The only explanation I've seen that makes sense is that BCS on ESPN + Standard ABC ratings are much higher than BCS on ABC + Throwaway ESPN programming.

Add in ESPN's seemingly never-ending ability to raise rates to cable companies, and I understand it from a Disney Corporation standpoint.

The only think I could think of, if Disney was this brilliant, to have ratings tank on ESPN so they could negotiate a cheaper deal for ABC later.

I didnt even know the game was on tonight until I read dsp just a few minutes ago. Then I looked for it on the major networks and finally saw it on ESPN.

But this is my first NCAA FB game I'll be watching this years so I wasn't really paying attention to the bowl season.

Oregon's uni's are ugly, especially the helmet color and shoe color.

wow these teams are so quick and fast.

Its entertaining to watch but is this really football? Reminds me of a videogame with the turbo button stuck.

If these are the 2 best 'football' teams in the nation, then I must have missed where they took the football out of college football.

Oregon 2 pt conversion was great to watch.

This game is a joke for me. Maybe I'm a football purist.

Are any of these players suppose to be NFL quality? I heard Cam Newton's name before as a NFL prospect, but if he gets drafted, he's the next JaMarcus Russell.

This is the new era of college football (like it or not). Fast, lotsa scoring, and even more trick plays. If anyone questions "the madden effect" on football - here it is. I think it's a blast to watch. One of my friends sent me a text "it's like watching football in the future..". Pretty much.
