Re: NFL Season 2010

Bradford had 2 shoulder injuries that last year, trying to help OU win a national championship. All that did is make money for the school and fortunately didn't hurt Bradford in the draft. But he lost a year of NFL earnings, even if he ends up playing 15 years, he could have had another year worth millions.

Luck did apparently talk to Bradford.

The two factors which might be relevant is the possibility of lockout and not wanting to be drafted by the Panthers.

Hard to believe the NFL would be stupid enough to lock out, especially when they may be getting $2 billion a year from ESPN in a new TV contract instead of the $1.1 billion they're getting now. But the other factor is that if they institute a rookie salary scale in the new CBA, then he may not get nearly as much under the new CBA as the current one.

Main reason to want to avoid the Panthers may be because the owner is suppose to be real cheap -- he didn't jump in the Harbaugh sweepstakes, instead going after coordinators who wouldn't command as big a contract. But next year, Panthers may hold the first pick again.

Hasselbeck is matching Brees stride by stride. The D can be tighter especially the safety but I liked what saw so far from SEA. They are competing hard so far. Go Hawks.

He must have broken at least 6-7 tackles. This is going to be the longest 2 minutes for me now.

Ladies and gentleman, there's going to be a new Champ. Seahawks win, Seahawks win.

The OL gave #8 all the protection he needed to do his magic, the D hanged in tough the entire match, P. Carroll kept rallying his troopers, and what a run by Lynch.

Not to be undermined, the crowd as usual played a huge role. 41 points against the Saints? This from a team that struggled with the running game the entire season, struggled with injuries and played in the weakest division.

Wow. What a sweet victory.

Gratz!...I retired years ago.

On a side note. I am getting a bit sentimental in my old age as I am really starting to appreciate it when actual human beings that I and most of us have actually heard speak post. :D

Good game between the Jets and Colts. Man I cannot stand listening to Collingsworth. Good grief the guy has managed to surpass Dan Dierdorf in the blowhard dept.

Vinny must be happy. :)

Sweet win for the J E T S Jets.

For all the attention Manning and Brees got this week they will be sitting at home next week.

This is why they play em and why we watch em. :D

Glad to see Bettis, Dirt Dawson and Ed Sabol among the 15 HOF finalists. Would be awesome to see all 3 get in, but hopefully at least 1 will make it this year.

Neon Deion should be a lock as well as Marshall Faulk, he was a true all purpose back, speed, moves, good hands out of the backfield and was a deceptively strong runner. I would also give it to Curtis Martin. He put up good numbers, was a class act and produced both at NE and for NY.

No way Curtis Martin gets in. At least not first ballot. Definitely agree about Deion and Marshall tho. Easy.

My Super Bowl pick (picked Ravens back in August) showed no signs of ruining my pick today. I hope I am wrong and my Eagles spoil the parade.

I don't have the game on tv, but what did he do? Remember his dad was Jack Buck so maybe that's how he got a job in broadcasting.

Joe Buck isn't too bad calling an NFL game because it's fast paced. I can't stand when he calls a baseball game because he's constantly talking. Then add Tim McCarver and it only gets worse. :P
