For some reason Tony Sparano looks a little more animated on the sideline, overall Henne has had a decent game sans the earlier pick.

Why did Washington give that huge contract to McNabb again? He had a wide receiver wide open down the field and didn't lead him with the throw.

DB had posted some info that shows McNabb's contract is smoke and mirrors.

Yes I'm not surprised that a fair amount of money doesn't actually get paid out in the end. Still, I can't quite figure out why the Redskins would be that keen to keep him on after this season. I know there are quiet a few personnel problems that they need to address - might make sense just to blow up the team and let Shanahan start over with a fairly new group.

Steelers really lucked out against the Bills - wonder if Johnson is going to be cut. That was a pretty horrendous outing he had.

Eagless got screwed by a lack of a replay. Olsen's TD "catch" was not a catch. Nose of ball hit the ground. Fox didn't get the replay in time. They only showed the replay where you could see it once and it was well after the extra point. I rewound my DVR...it would have been overturned. Oh well, Eagles D looks like sh@t anyways.

Those of you that think the Steelers always receive favorable officiating will be happy to know that they have been flagged 40 times over the past 4 games. They also had the NFL admit to two costly mistakes that almost cost them the Bengals' game.

The NFL is clearly targeting Harrison, which usually would be fine with me as he is held on almost every play and maybe the refs would see it. It's also amazing that no opposing player has been flagged for hitting Ben illegally in 7 games. Not one hit too low, late, to the head, to the thigh (that's what Hampton was called for in the Bengals game believe it or not) with the crown of the helmet, with too much of a percentage of body weight (probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard), etc in over 240 passing plays. That's amazing discipline on the part of the opponents. Not that I'm complaining. The Steelers have gone out and won 3 of the 4 games. I'm just pointing this out so the next time the Steelers do receive a call it's just evening out the past month that has seen a plethora of bogus late hit calls and one-sided application of the holding rules.

I told my wife that I was really worried about the Bills before the game and they proved me right. They have played the Ravens tough on the road so I knew a trip to Buffalo would be tough. Their offense seems solid and if they would have tackled a little better and made those catches they would have won. Luckily, the Steelers made their mid-range FGs for a change and got help from the Bills in OT.

I've got no beef with the Steelers but I saw one of the most blatant pass interference calls I've ever seen NOT called against the Steelers today. Total hold in the red zone and the refs just looked the other way. I was shocked.

Huge win by the Bears today, especially with the Cheeseheads blowing it in Atlanta. I know this team still has a lot of problems but I pushed all that aside today and enjoyed watching them handle the Eagles.

Too much M. Cassel and the best running team in the league routed the Hawks in SEA 42-24. In this weak division, the Rams' win have them sharing for first place as the margin of errors is closing in. Aside from injuries, the current team just looks totally inept at defending and keeps fumbling the ball at the most inopportune time.

Barely? Ok. The score didn't indicate the game at all. Look I am harder on the Bears then anyone and I never thought that game was in doubt after halftime. The Bears D took it too the Eagles and hit them in the mouth and that's hard for some Eagles players to swallow as was evident on the 3 kneel downs and all the crying on the onside kick recovery. Vick was under the most pressure I have seem him this year and that was with a 4 man rush. I wonder if the league will pick up on this strategy against him going forward.

As far as the Olsen catch you're the only one I've heard say it wasn't a catch, I didn't see a replay showing that. Last I knew the player just has to maintain control and I didn't see anything to suggest otherwise. You want to complain about no calls. An Eagles player threw a punch and no flags were thrown, next play they get away with a mugging of a PI call and then Cutler gets his dumb ass hit with an unsportsmanlike. I'd say that sequence went in favor of the Eagles. I'd also say the Bears dumb ass coaching staff deciding to throw it on 3rd and 9 when the Eagles had no time outs left was a poor decision. They could of milked almost another minute off the clock, probably preventing that last TD (which was a hell of a throw BTW).

So you can look at it as barely lost or won if you want. I saw a sound beating, that the score doesn't represent. Like I said first game this year I never thought was in doubt after halftime with the way the defense was playing.

There was no "barely" in that Eagles loss. The Bears were in complete control for most of that game. It took a miraculous throw by Vick to even make it close. The Eagles defense got completely chewed up and spit out by a very average Bears offensive squad.

Really? Complete control? If it weren't for a tipped INT we could very easily be talking about an Eagles win. I saw a game where the Bears played well but were given a TD on a blown call. The Birds, whose defense did play horribly (without the best corner in the league), nearly came back on the road to win. Vick threw for over 330 yards. The Eagles offense played well. Were the Eagles outplayed...sure, but it was far from a man handling by the Bears. Barely is my opinion and I'm entitled to it. Tip of the cap to the Bears, they won and deserved it.

Listen, you can put it any way you want and we can go back and forth all night...which I won't do Final score was 31-26...a one score game. That constitutes barely in my book. You are entitled to your opinion - as I am. My point on the missed call is the replay, which I rewound and watched 10 minutes after the play to be sure I wasn't seeing things, showed the nose of the ball clearly hit the ground and shift in Olsen's arms. I was pissed that the Eagles weren't given the opportunity to see that replay prior to the extra point. They showed it once. Reid had the red flag in his hand but didn't get the green light from up top because the replay wasn't shown. That was a huge momentum swing. Oh well. The Bears outplayed the Eagles...no argument there.

As far as Peters' quote, if he would have said "we were the better team and they know it" then I can see your point point. All he said is he thinks the Bears know the Eagles are a better team than they showed today. I don't get the "typical Eagles player" thing. Since when did the Eagles get the rep as a team that whines over everything and pisses and moans with excuses when they lose? Reid took the high road in his press conference and took responsibility for the loss. On to next week.

The Olsen catch was legit. Just watched it again and even if the tip did touch the ground, the ball didn't move. Touchdown. And LOL at "if it weren't for the tipped INT, we could very easily be talking about an Eagles win." That's like saying, "if that woman hadn't left with that other guy, I might have had sex with her."

That game was not that close. The Bears clearly traded yards for time off the clock at the end of the fourth. It took an incredible TD throw by Vick (and it was a hell of a throw) for the Eagles to even think about winning, and even then that required an onside kick and a drive with no timeouts left. If that's "barely" then I guess I can start saying my schlong is "barely" under 10 inches long. After the Olsen TD early in the third made it 28-13, the Eagles never really threatened to take the lead for the rest of the game.

I have no illusions that this Bears team has flaws and could very well s*** the bed at any given moment, but they beat the Eagles pretty soundly today, and that gives them as much legitimacy as every other flawed contender in the NFC this year.
