The travel would be absurd, the timing of the tournament probably isn't very good for MLS teams, and with the lack of depth mandated by the rules of the league, MLS teams already have trouble putting competitive teams into the CONCACAF Champions League and the MLS vs MFL Superliga games. There would be little point for teams to join the competition only to field rookies and watch them get humiliated. Remember, MLS doesn't even have reserve squads or any kind of reserve league at this point. The squad limitations are very severe in MLS.
I disagree - remember, MLS teams played in the Copa Sudamericana and (I think) the now defunct Copa Merconorte. I remember DC United playing in Copa Sudamericana in a home-and-home against Chilean team U. Catolica....I think they would have won if it wasn't for a few howlers by Rimando. I could easily see MLS teams in these tourneys again, and would love to.

Also, rumor is that the reserve league might come back next year.

Anyone playing this game on LIVE? I've been playing it exclusively on live and can't figure out why the game can be brilliant one moment and frustrate me to no end the next. It's not lag.. I can't describe it at all.. It baffles me. There are games where something just feels different. Back in the WE days, I believe the host changed at the half..is that still the case?

This can be the most satisfying head to head footy game online i've ever played.. or the most annoying.

PK, did you ever find an option file? I'm not liking the gaming access patch this year.

No, sir. I've been too busy to do any gaming in the last couple of weeks.

Only played one game so far.. the player control response doesn't seem as tight to me as in FIFA.. but I need way more playing time.

I do like the pace much better in PES though.

The PSP version is really good this year. It plays and reminds me a lot of WE7 which I still have on the PS2.

Cloud.

You need to take the good with the bad in this game. Buy used so you can return it if needed.

Hey Fifa...

I am really liking this game, goals are not easy (apparently neither or PK's). It is very picky about setting up your attack and quick to punish if you try to make passes at bad angles. You were right about the frustration, but so far..totally worth it!

Haven't tried online yet, any others playing this game?

I caved in for the PS3 version a couple of weeks ago after telling myself that I would skip it this year. Online had been improved vastly as the previous lag seems to be gone. I am having more success scoring in this game than FIFA 11, but overall I prefer the EA product better although I find myself playing the 'Copa Libertadores' over and over.

Some AI issues remain.

I skipped all games last year but found myself jonesing pretty bad for a game. I never really liked FIFA online, too many kids (although co-op team play was fun).

They are two totally different experiences. I too find it hard to score in Fifa offline, but love the online modes and smooth play.

PES online is a mystery to me. You can start a match with what feels like a great connection, only to see it deteriorate during the match. Sometimes it can take a turn for the worse at the half, which makes me wonder if they are switching hosts at halftime as some say WE9 did.

Overall I like the PES gameplay experience better. I think it flows more like real soccer and opportunities are born like real soccer. I think the back line in Fifa is too difficult to break down. Like last year I'm still not seeing crosses as a legit threat in Fifa either.

The beauty of PES is you can put the ball about anywhere and any result is possible. Now.. if they could address some of the little things that drive me mad....

Cloud.. let's get a game in online.

Cloud - great games yesterday.

Sorry for not replying to your message on live... Azpaco and I were in the last game of what turned out to be a Friday evening, 6+ hour PES Marathon. Needless to say, I was bushed.

See you online

No worries...Let's try to get some games in this week?

You know if we play while we are both on concalls, we can consider ourselves "professionals" since we are technically being paid to play :)

XBOX live update dropped yesterday.

The patch adjusts the defender AI to allow for more consistent pressing from various situations and includes a series of alterations based on feedback from users. The difficulty and success rate of Rainbow Flicks has been adjusted to improve gameplay, while throw-ins can now be passed back to the taker. Cursor switching has been generally been improved including situations when the ball is crossed, while the way transfer fees are calculated in Master League has been reworked. Names above CPU players can also now be switched off as they mimic player settings. Shooting has also be tweaked to produce more realistic reactions and results depending on real-time situations.

Some chants within the game have also been refined or changed, and PC owners using relatively low-spec machines will also be able to find matches more easily within the game’s Legends mode. You are also able to change the opposition's kit before online matches, so kit clashes are a thing of the past.

I've been playing the 360 demo a lot and I like it better than FIFA. It gives me that same
"organic" gameplay that drew me to this series in the first place. Am I crazy in thinking that PES 11 could be the best iteration ever of this game?

Mizz....is there a deal with Amazon when you trade in FIFA? I would like to do the same thing you did.

I've been doing this for some time now, it's so easy.. they are typically higher than Gamestop, so I go with them all the time now.

Yeah I no longer deal with Gamestop for anything. Last month I traded Madden 11 and got $39.25 in credits and they send you a prepaid UPS label. All you have to do is box it up and send it to them. I seriously doubt Gamestop would have given me $39.25 and even if they did I still would have gone with Amazon because now in Florida there's a law where you essentially pay twice for tax for the same product.
