It's times like this I am glad I am NOT a fan of this team, because they do nothing but let the fans down.
And I am sure that the Vikes don't need fans like you. 8)

Say what you want, but the last 5 minutes of the game were vintage Favre.

So the Cowboys fired their HC today, whoa I didn't see that one coming.

Jason Garrett's career will never be the same and that's not a good thing.

Garrett has been getting HC wages for a long time now and passed up HC opportunities to stay in Dallas.

And he's been the heir apparent for how long now, since at least Parcells?

So unless the Cowboys have a respectable showing the rest of the way, he won't get the permanent job?

Problem with big-name coaches is they want more control than Jerry is willing to give up, right?

OTOH, someone like Cowher or Gruden may prefer a team like Dallas because they do have talent and now will be getting a high pick, as opposed to some perennial losing teams which need to build up the roster.

Alstott ever have a league-leading game? If not, then maybe Norm Bulaich. :)

Yeah, it's only been three games but the kid looks solid so far.

I'm looking forward to the Jets game Sunday. I'd LOVE to see TJ Ward "welcome" Braylon back to Cleveland.

Good call on Alstott, PK. I checked Pro Football Reference. The best he ever finished was second. He had a 131-yard game in 1999, but Tim Biakbatuka had 132 yards that week.

It wouldn't surprise me if you had to go back to John Riggins to find the last white RB to pull that off.

I remember a huge game Merril Hoge had in the playoffs against Denver back in '89 or '90. Granted, there were not nearly as many teams playing that week, since it was the playoffs, but I remember he had 120+ yards that day.

Until Henne becomes less tentative, it's probably a good move. Lest you forget how good the Dolphins were with Pennington as the QB before he got hurt...and that was with Ted Ginn as the #1 receiver and Camarillo as the #2. Yikes. At least Pennington has some more weapons to work with, even if he can't throw the ball further than 40 yards.

Seriously how can you not start Tyler Thigpen next week? He's quick, mobile and has a good arm and he moved the ball effectively something Henne has trouble doing. :)

Lexbur: good game. Both teams had their chances. I were actually pulling for Cleveland. Look like the Browns may finally be on the upswing. Colt McCoy is a winner.

Troy Smith passes for 356 yards. Very nice. Been a fan of his since he put on clinics at Ohio State. Unlike typical running QB's, he throws a very nice ball

Henne did fine today...they actually seemed to let him throw downfield a little more. Oh well...wonder how long he'll be out. I'm fairly confident Thigpen can run the team...I like what little I've seen of him over the past two years.

"Multiple sources are reporting that both quarterbacks could be finished for the season."

edit: Add Jake Long with a dislocated shoulder http://miamiherald.typepad.com/dolphins ... -good.html

And the news keeps getting better, the Dolphins are going to tryout Jamarcus Russell. Please somebody stop me.

He's got a big arm and he's not afraid to pull the trigger. Even in some situations when he shouldn't be putting it up for grabs.

He hit on a lot of big plays and many of them seem to be improvised or likely not the primary targets on the play. He's got a lot of poise despite inexperience but needs to be more consistent with bread-and-butter plays to keep the chains moving -- 49ers were 0-10 on third downs late in the 4th quarter -- as well as deliver those big plays.

Bradford is very savvy for a rookie. He was drawing 49ers with the hard count several times in their stadium, and he took shots on a couple of free plays, throwing one int. which was reversed and hitting on a big pass to Jackson to set up the game-tying TD.

Frankly, the Rams played not to lose. They had the lead in the fourth quarter and were content to try to run out the clock rather than go for the knockout. They had 2 or 3 possessions which went 3 and out and they tried to run most of those plays. Bradford had a good rhythm going and would make good, quick reads of the coverage right away, get rid of the ball. So the Rams were maybe too conservative with the lead. Rams were containing the 49ers for the most part until that last drive in regulation and even had the 49ers on the ropes, 3rd and 32. Troy Smith took hit Gore twice to convert that yardage and eventually score the go-ahead TD.

Yeah, what a game. It feels great to be fired up about the Browns again, it's been a while. And I loved the post game press conference with McCoy, he says all the right things, doesn't point any fingers, takes full responsibility for the loss, even though he played awesome.

I'm trying but he's making it really hard not to get all giddy over him. I keep telling myself QB's don't seem to last very long around here. After all he's our 12th different starting QB in the 12 years we've been back. And some others have gotten off to pretty good starts too (Kelly Holcomb, Derek Anderson). But who knows? Maybe this kid's the real deal. So far so good. Imagine if he had *ANY* WRs to throw to?!?!? :D

So NFL in L.A. talk is heating up. Being a LA resident, I hope it does happen. I like having all my games "not being subject to blackout".
